Ixon It-Yate Evo Heated Gloves $319.90 ($399 RRP) Delivered @ Peter Stevens Motor Cycles

100

First time poster!

Best discount I have seen on these for a long time. $399 RRP now $319.20. Just wanted to share this amazing product with my riding brethren.

I had always struggled with 20km winter highway commutes when the temperature drops. Tried handguards/inner gloves/heated grips nothing helped at all. Fingers get so frozen I could barely feel the clutch. Since getting a pair of these gloves heated grips are redundant.

Safety: CE Certified for EN 13594:2015 Level 1 so you know these aren't just ski gloves with a battery and some tacked on reinforcement.

I know a lot of people will gawk at the price but if you commute on your bike daily through winter I can't recommend these enough!

Do they have smelly socks & why does the description remind me of that job Elaine had at J. Peterman?

  • Foxglove?

From memory you get 10% off your first 0nline purchase from Peter Sevens which would make the price even better

When I was in Canada recently, I bought some heated gloves for skiing through Amazon, however I note many were advertised for motorcycle use as well. It may be useful to look into, as cheaper than these. Material's may also be different however just tip. I beleive the 7.4V 22.2WH batteries are the way to go as well. Below is just a random pair I found to show:

    • I always overheat when snowboarding.

I prefer heated grips, don't need to plug them in.

    • +2

So did I until it gets really cold. heated grips only do one side of your hand.

      • +3

The wrong side to. The back of your hands are exposed to wind and unless you get handlebar muffs, these are the best things for hand warmth by a long long way!! Heated gloves get my vote!

Not sure why people think they’re dangerous.

        • Reasons:

Gloves are very 'worn' and susceptible to the elements (only thing more in the elements are your boots).

If these get wet, snow in them or just sweat - I can't imagine washing is good for the electronics at all. You really need to baby them and take care of them.

I equate these gloves to a triglide 'motorcycle' - All the negatives of riding (but con'd as positives like being out in the elements) without the benefits of riding a vehicle that you can throw your body weight into.

Just get heated grips, these are pointless at best and a hazard at worst.

Most of my bikes have heated grips. I hate thick gloves. Heated gloves are the next level for coping with sub zero temps and that's before taking into account the wind chill factor at 100kph. I have no idea why you would think they are hazardous. It's not like a toaster in a bath………….. Maybe you should try some.

      • -1

Because you're connected to the bike

        • How so? These gloves aren't plugged into the bike, they're battery operated. They have a feedback loop for the temperature as well, you dial in the temp you want and it will regulate the heating to that target temperature. They work quite well. I recommend them for beginners who may be likely to be trading up in bikes since you can take them with you from bike to bike. I've upgraded from a CBR125 to a VTR 250 to Hornet 250 to a CB400SF, they've been quite good.

    • You can argue they're hazardous but pointless?

What temperatures are you riding in?

I have heated grips, hand guards and winter gloves and can attest that it will gets too cold for my fingers when I'm riding in 4 degree mornings on the freeway at 100kph.

Heated gloves are just way too expensive for the handful of days that it gets cold enough to wear them

Not sure why people are so against these - or think they are "hazardous"? I have the Five HG-1 and they are awesome - just like any good quality winter glove, the only difference is the battery sitting in the extended cuff.

I've ridden through the snowy mountains in winter and the hands were still very warm - cant say the same about the rest of the body, but these types of gloves are awesome.

I've got the Fives also. Great for highway riding in winter but terrible (for me at least) when commuting. I find them too bulky for city riding due to the constant clutch and brake use - they make my hands ache lol But other than that, a fantastic glove that's very warm and well made, like all their other gloves.

      • +1

Yeah - I generally only wear them for "long trips" - commute to the city daily, and I still wear summer gloves - just way too much hand movement needed.

I'm usually running Five Stunt Evo's with liners for those cooler days as you get way more mobility. And if it's a super early/cold morning, I've got Five RFX1 Replica's which aren't as aerated. I'll swear by Five gloves though.

I've been buying them for well over a decade now and they're the only brand I'll wear as they have such a comfy fit,

  • Id look overseas to buy heated gloves, thems alot of profit in these
