Postage not included though, to Sydney it was $4.95 for standard post, more for registered/insured post.

      • +1

Nah there's a free postage option

        • But is it really a good idea to send $200 voucher using untracked mail? Recipe for disaster and not really a sensible option to put on the table so the vendor can simply say they're the cheapest.

          • @boretentsu: Doesn't look like Auditech's free shipping option is tracked either? In any case, if it gets lost, just initiate a chargeback.

            • +2

@xers: trackable. had purchased with them earlier.

          • +11

@boretentsu: Just pay using PayPal and if something goes wrong you can lodge a PayPal dispute and get your money back

            • +3

@Heybargain: Exactly, there are so many layers of payment protection nowadays I don't know why people even bother with postage insurance.

            • @Heybargain: Will note for next time!

              • @boretentsu: On another note I actually bought one from oz tech biz before this post was created and the seller provided an aus post tracking number even though I selected free shipping. Its signature on delivery required for this one.

            • @Heybargain: Not always guaranteed. They rejected my chargeback request from a gift card scammer years ago despite there being no proof it was ever shipped.

    • -1

Price match with OW includong free shipping option.

      • +1

For what it's worth, I've had OW reject the price match from these smaller retailers in the past due to BS reasons like "no sku listed" on the retailer listing.
I can see on this post that people have had success in Jan with LuckyMobile (who I struck out with last year), so YMMV.

    • +1

      Thanks. Just bought one.

    • $178 via here

      • +4

You can’t checkout, the credit card payment screen is locked

        • +1

Same problem here, can't check out…

      • It's fake because you can't check out by any means

  • Can we use this as recharge via customer service?

    • Don't think they are supporting this request now a days. others can pitch in, if they were able to do it.

      • +3

        Did it last year.
Took almost 30min plead to the operator for them to do it.
They said never to repeat it for my account.

        • +2

Yep, people need to be more aware of some of the ‘bargains’ that get posted here. Same thing happened when I bought a Telstra sim from JB which OP said was fine to ignore the new customer requirement, as some message to support would over ride it.

Yeah, it finally did, after a trip back to JB, a trip to a city Telstra store and finally about an hour on web chat with support. Not worth the hassle

        • Same for me. Have done it easily three times prior, but this time they said its the last time. Will need to port in/out from a $2 voda SIM in future.

      • Correct they won't do it for you no more

    • Oz tech on the other deal will give a free sim to port out to

    • +3

      Budget Harvey Norman, no thanks

  • +6

Can't recharge now, you used to be able to..but now they say they just don't have the option to recharge.
I just port out to any $2 sim and port back in again, so much easier than trying to try persuade them to do it.

    • Do you need to port out for 30 days before port back in?

      • +1

        See below

      • +3

You can port back in literally the second you port out, it's not a problem with Boost.

        • +1

I had to wait about 30-40 mins before the boost website would let me port back in, but yeah doesn't take too long.

    • Which $2 SIM is good for the port out/in ?

      I got 2 x 12-month SIMs to "recharge" in a months' time.

      • +1

        Telstra.

        • I've known that "same network" porting, usually is slower.

So, i was wondering if there is a non-Telstra SIM for $2 ?

          • @whyisave: Don't overcomplicate things. Just go down to your local supermarket and grab the cheapest sim you can find.

          • +3

@whyisave: I read on another thread the Telstra $2 SIM is the only one that doesn’t require a recharge to activate. You need it to be activate to receive SMS for the porting out.

  • +1

No, I ported back in the next day

I used this to price match to officeworks

    • +6

The real deal is always in the comments

    • +3

I tried buying it directly from Luckymobile and even after putting the shipping address the payment section is still coming locked and cannot finalize the payment. Anyways knows how to do payment? Thanks in advance

      • Go to officeworks and ask them to price match this.

    • +3

OW rejected my price match for LuckyMobile last year saying "no sku listed" on the retailer listing, so YMMV. Consider not potentially wasting your time trying the price match.

      • +1

I just bought it last month and ow honor and did the price match.

      • +1

        Seconded this. YMMV
        - OW stores inconsistent on prepaid price match.
        - Sydney Pitt St was ANAL on fine detail(data) being different, despite their stock being just the older packaging. When I presented them with the official BOOST site stating the updated data allowances, they shamelessly said they are following policies and Cannot match a different product.
        - My local OW has the worst consistency. Price matched auditech hassle-free two years ago. Got told off last year by the manager that OW has policy not to price match Prepaid. The manager then said the employee did the wrong thing two years ago by price matching and refused to show me the policy excluding prepaid.

        • I have a genuine question regarding price matching @ officeworks:
What is the main benefit of price ‘matching’ at OW etc? I can understand price ‘beating’ but price matching, I can only think of getting it sooner in person rather than waiting for the delivery in the mail. There may be a possibility of using a discounted gift card or cash back at OW as opposed to luckymobile or whatever online retailer, but are those the only benefits from buying it from OW versus the luckymobiles etc?
Because to me it seems unless there is any other benefit that I’m missing, buying from the luckymobiles and smaller retailers would be better to support them, rather than OW, which is the same as purchasing from bunnings or colesworth etc. it would keep the big boys competitive, anyway.
Honest question, is there anything else I’m missing from all the OW price matching hype, since it seems to be such a pain in some cases? Thanks

          • +1

@4KGrubby: I totally get your point regarding breaking the duopoly situation. Soon enough, every shop would be owned by Westfarmer and Coles Group.
Back to your point regarding benefits, I can think of two.
            1. Better serviceability and warranty claims, as there are more stores across Australiia
            2. More accountability, ask yourself where would you prefer to purchase a $10k TV?
            Cheers

            • @ruthlesskid: Thanks for your reply. I do agree, would be a little more at ease buying from brick and mortar than online, especially a $10k TV, although a SIM card is a little different imo. but at the end of the day if the price difference is enough, most would go the cheaper option.

Anyway, my previous post is void it seems, as I’ve just come to realise that OW offer price BEAT, not just price match (as some have confusingly claimed, although probably an honest typo)

I just phoned up my local OW to enquire about it, the person I spoke to checked out Lucky Mobile and was happy to price beat, but they claimed it was $5.00 shipping and so was only happy to price beat $183, not $178. I’m not sure where he saw the $5 shipping because I can’t see it? Or where I can correct him when I go in store to show it is free shipping.
Anyway, $169.10 like others have got or $173.85, either is fine by me. Thanks all

        • Ditto on Pitt St OW

    • +1

Just pricematched/beat luckymobile at Officeworks Carnegie for 2 Sims, with 5% off, bringing it to $169.10, a 26.5% discount from the original price of $230 . Thanks for posting guys. It certainly helps with the cost of living when you have a household of 4 to look after.
The manager was a champ, a young Hindu who was only too happy to extol the virtues of Boost. Thank you!

      • The problem is not all officeworks will do it and visiting them during hot summer days isn't that pleasant if you don't manage to get the pricematch hehe

I used this to price match to officeworks

Thanks , I did the same this morning. $169.10

      Winner winner 🍗 🍽️.

      • How do you get past the shipping?

        • You can't. It's a broken page, but it worked enough to get the price match.

  • +1

Ia there a cheaper option without as much data?
Hoping to get a 365 day sim for mainly domestic phone calls on the telstra network.

    • Aldi

      • I see they have a 365 days plan, pay as you go.
Have they got a fixed price 365 day plan like Boost or Woolworths?

  • +3

Can confirm that you can port out and instantly port back into boost with these vouchers.
    Did the whole thing
Port to Lebara, back to Boost within an hour

    • How much was the Lebara SIM ?

  • Is there a cheap one that’s about 60gb ish (I noticed that’s how much I use over one year on data anyway) and being cheap ? Ofc preferably with Telstra

    • +1

Not with Telstra but I bought catch connect 60gb plan for $99 which is $120 now.

  • Bugger! I just activated with Boost today and bought this plan. If only I had waited another day.

  • thanks OP, ebay pulled the plug on their $20 off $200 promotion at end of Feb and now existing promotions are not that attractive so i'm gonna go with this.. Data bundle on my cheap Lebara port-cross plan is running out fast..

  • Is it just me - or does data only seems useable in 5g zones now? Since 2024 started, 4g data seems unusablely slow on Boost…

    • +1

Maybe it’s you. I have mine set to 4G to help the tiny battery in iphone mini survive the day. I just did speedtest, i’ve got 2 bars service:
      Upload: 73.1Mbps
      Download: 4.86Mbps
This is totally useable for my needs.

Of course if you live near my parents you’ll have terrible service in 4G or 5G because Telstra cut disable the local tower because of some building development emergency situation (without real explanation, no notice, and didn’t admit to it for 3 months… bastards).

      • Right - I might try and solve it some more then!

  • Can I get this working at the discounted price if I'm coming from amaysim without running into any hurdles?

    • Only for new customers

      • Because I'm with amaysim I'll be OK?

  • Do they support eSIM?

    • +1

      Yes

    • Why go eSIM over physical SIM?

  • Just remember if you are and existing customer and port out to save money you will loose data rollover for example I have 170gb left, so please take this into consideration too

    • +4

There is no roll-over for annual plans, only monthly plans.

      • +2

        That is right.

    • Wake up sid, there is nothing like that

  • I have a boost sim. I want my partner to use another network (rather than telstra) to avoid both of us going out of reception at the same time. Which 365 day play would you recommend. Previously we used lebara ( which uses vodafone network) and now they are increasing prices from this april. Thanks

  • Does boost let u do their esim number sharing to Apple Watch? Only ever been with big 3 direct and looks like it never changes.

  • Is this for new customers only? Number is currently with tls and I've got an expired Boost Sim. My 12month Telstra Sim has 102gb left and expiries in 12 days. Should I go another 12month Telstra instead?

  • Is Boost still the best 365-day pre-pay with 5G data?

    • +1

If Telstra covers the area you want I'd suggest yep, Boost offers great deals. If you're a little more data hungry there's the Telstra Pre-paid here. The telstra offer is ~$1.12 per GB while this Boost offer is ~$1.15 per GB.

    • +1

Depends what "best" means from your perspective. whether its for coverage, internet speed, value for money or support.
But, Boost certainly is one of the top options to choose from.

  • Just tried to buy one and their site is not accepting CC and have to pay via PayPal. What fees does PayPal charge?

    • +2

no charges for buyers (Unless ur using a non AUD card). charges are only for the sellers.

  • for existing service who just wants to add 12 months, can i use this?

    • +1

nope. u got to port out n port in. cannot be used as recharge voucher.

  • is kogan 5g?

    • This is a deal on Boost Mobile.

  • yeh my 12 month plan is expiring tomorrow and im trying to weigh up if its worth it to go kogan for %50 less money, can anyone comment on reception boost vs kogan?

  • $188.60 now

    • $190.90 now.

Why is the price fluctuating so regularly…?
