Krug Grande Cuvee (SIX PACK) for $1,170 ($195 Per Bottle)

1190

OK… so we're not talking $3 bottle of wine here…. but this is one of the best champagnes out there… frankly consistently the best in my opinion. Sometimes a house will knock out a vintage that might be better, but for the most part a bottle of this will knock anything else out of the cellar, figuratively speaking. Normal price for a bottle is around $295 at Dans. Buy six, and it would drop to $280. Buy six here, and save $85 per bottle.

Better news - checked Dans and they have dropped the 'any six' price to $198 for a bottle. Not as good as this, but if you only want one to celebrate something very special, then you can always get one from Dans and make up the other 5 bottles with some $3 cleanskins…. go on…. use some of that money you've saved on other things through ozbargain… you know you want to… perhaps combine it with a $5 burrito <grin>

      I agree.

The comments are better than the deal!

  • Now I see this as a bargain!
The BOTTLE is FREE but you pay for the CHAMPAGNE in it :)

  • So has anyone actually bought this yet.

  • I looks like there out of stock. Oh well :)

  • Jesus Christ, that's more expensive than petrol!!

  • OMG - Just had a browse through Dans, and saw that not only do they have the Krug Clos du Mesnil (http://danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_158724/krug-clos-du-mesn…) for $1,599, they also have Clos d'Ambonnay (http://danmurphys.com.au/product/DM_705460/krug-clos-d-ambon…) for $3,149. Now the Clos d'Ambonnay is (apparently) normally $3,999.99 so bit of a discount there… plus shipping for either is free…. but for [insert name of favourite deity] sake, that is simply silly. I was fortunate enough to have a sip of the Clos du Mesnil at the Krug cellars many years back, and it was nice, but personally I preferred the NV. Actually the people at Krug were most proud of the NV - they saw it as showing off their winemaking/blending skills, whilst the vintage bottles were 'acts of god'.

    • I agree. Give me the Krug NV any day. They put a lot of effort into blending wines from multiple years so the taste of the NV remains the same despite the conditions of that years grapes.

  • If I buy this and store it away in my garage for 10 years will it increase in value?

    • Not likely for the NV.
