Seems like a lot of the Garmin watches are on sale - new models coming out? This one is showing as down form $1849 to $849 at DJ.
Carbon Grey is also available at $999 https://www.davidjones.com/product/garmin-fenix%C2%AE-7x-sap…

This is still a really good watch for 2024 and the newer Pro models were incremental upgrades. I'm curious as to what the next upgrades could be like. This is a great price.
Just be wary this thing is not for dainty little non-kfc eating wrists
Exactly. These watches are 51mm monsters, and weight 89 grams.
For big arms, big wrists. Otherwise it will look like your watch is wearing your arm, not the other way round!
I notice the smaller 42mm versions are not on sale.
Anyone studied the ECG's on all the brands? What would be the best for my elderly father (Late 70s, history of heart attacks). He doesn't need music/fitness workout features necessarily.
My wife had some issues with her heart and I showed the ECG Taken from her old Apple Watch Series 4 or 5 (not sure) to a Cardiologist. He also compared the results from her watch readings against the actual ECG Taken in the Lab. He was convinced that the readings taken from Apple watch were good. So I can confidently say as the Doctor thinks it is taking good readings, I would suggest an Apple watch.
I’m too lazy to link directly to a video but check out DC Rainmaker on YouTube. He covers fitness watches and compares with data against a chest strap (which is more accurate as it’s above the heart).
He covers most stuff and should have a brand comparison video too
ECG only available on Garmins (that have the ability) in US, HK, Taiwan, Vietnam. Still very slowly rolling out globally. https://support.garmin.com/en-US/?faq=QssFZHtIOfAYNSSmzXNwY9
https://www.youtube.com/@TheQuantifiedScientist does in depth reviews on a lot of different fitness trackers. Apple watch tends to come out on top most of the time.
Rebel sport have the carbon grey model for $949. You can then use a gift card to bring it down to around $900. Then you'll get close to $50 in loyalty points to spend on other things. So works out the same if you prefer the carbon grey face.
I can just vouch for the Sapphire glass, worth every cent!
I have smacked my Fenix 5x a couple of times by accident and was afraid to look at the glass, but its still in pristine condition!
Titanium version with titanium band also available for 999. The titanium band alone is usually like $300ish
This expired this morning. How do I know? After finding this yesterday, I was going to price match at lunchtime today. Yeah, it's dead.
RE: "New models coming out?"
New models came out 6 months ago (See: Fenix 7/S/X Pro and Epix Gen 2 Pro), people are still just clearing old stock of the non-pro models.
It's unlikely new-er models are coming out soon.
