I don't understand the benefit to giftcards.com of selling these! Anyway I dove in & successfully bought them with NAB CC. Then used them to buy '5% off for Seniors' Woolies GC's. An outlay of $231.30 = W's $263.15 GC.

    • Probably to help with cashflow. Maybe cheaper than an overdraft.

  • bought 4x with 28 degrees credit card. zero issues.

try again it wont work .

    • cards delivered within 5 mins.

    • Did you use the same details for each transaction?

      • +1

having some issues checking out using this card on booking.com (through paypal or google pay or not). card shows as active and with balance loaded on mybalancenow. anyone else? only bought these within the last hour for what its worth. tried a few different cards.

trying to pay in yen, but the card t&cs say international transactions thru an australian business should be okay… i think …

Check your account at Mastercard before trying this card again.

transactions are also failing when i try pay in aud thru paypal who then convert it (ie. should be considered for sure an australian transaction). 🙄 guess ill try again later

    • as a test just bought a $1 amzn gc on shopback and that worked with the card no problem. go figure. must be an international thing then or something..!?!

looks like ill just have to try get lucky with buying aussie explorer cards for agoda or something tomorrow..

    • okay i think its because this particular listing books directly with the japanese-based hotel rather than through booking.. if that makes sense..

  • +7

can't thank Ozb enough for these deals (and OP). Times are tough and need to save money when possible. Browsing Ozb should be a chapter in every aussie finance book.

  • Worked well with bank of Melbourne

  • Tried to pay with 2 different Westpac CC, no sms code received. Paid with Anz, verification code sent within second.

  • Just worked for me with westpac CC

  • Can these be used to book hotels?

    Like through booking.com / agoda?

    Great deal!

    • +1

not working for me on booking.com right now but im trying to book in yen fwiw. but the t&cs do mention that international transactions (thru aussie businesses) should be okay. so idk. 🤷‍♀️

  • Got cards, but even w/ adblock disabled when I click view card I just get a blank page. How do I actually retrieve the numbers to use it??

    • do you happen to be using a custom dns or something like that? i had to turn off my pihole as well as my ublock origin etc for it to work.

      • I tried 2 different browsers, but it works on mobile, still on office wifi. Should've thought of trying that myself, thanks for the suggestion.

    • +1

When you click the view card number it just copies it into the clipboard.

What's the best way to use these to maximise usage on eBay?

Best I can see atm is 3.5% cashback at Cashrewards vai Super Swap Celebrations…

    • Wait for a ShopBack cashback upsize or Prezzee 6.67% bonus rate (Buy $150 Swap, Get $10 Bonus) and swap it for an eBay GC.
There should be a Prezzee Deal coming soon in Easter like usual.

  • Transaction failed, please contact customer service.

I’m using CommBank & ANZ debit card :(

Bought 10@$250 , paid via Amex Explore , no issue at all, no need payment verification.

  • Amex PT Charge card. Ordered 10. Had 6 come through today and 4 to be delivered later. 6 came through within 5mins. Time to pre-pay some bills and save the rest for next term's school fees.

  • Ive got 50cents left in one. Any ideas how to use it?

    • +1

Optimal = don't let it get below $1 - then buy amazon GC.

50c… see if ur health care / utitlies will take it

    • I believe woolies giftcards, or split payment at woolies will let you use that

      • You can use digital GC at Woolies?

        • During an online checkoit

          • @blehgg: Yeah this, although I haven't tried it before

I have bought small amounts of gift cards from their gift cards websites with these cards through PayPal though. Not sure what the lowest amount is.

I used my nrma membership to get 4% discount and the specified the amount I wanted.

  • Just bought 2 lots. With HSBC and Amex

    Thanks OP

    • What using? (phone/PC, browser, Incognito?).

      Two hours..called all banks..says it's not them.

      • Always use PC and Chrome no need Incognito.

        Deals expired BTW

        • Yeah I know :(

Tried 4 different cards, called each bank direct to check their end. Multiple browsers, incognito and not.

Bank said the merchant has an issue with their OTP verification process. Only the merchant can fix it. Doesn't really compute as some got through. Hoping they pulled it early for this reason, will fix it and put back up.

Never had a problem with these until today.

AMEX Velocity Platinum failed many times using Safari browser, including a few times where I got the 2FA code and submitted it.

Just tried using Chrome. Worked fine with my AMEX and no 2FA requested. Perhaps there is a browser issue??

    • may be 2FA is the issue

So dodgy - Lodge complaint with ACCC.

    • Mine worked for 8 x cards about 20 mins ago

      • Was it in separate transactions?

        • +1

          Nah all in one go

  • +2

AMEX is working now.. no OTP required.

    • yes any 2FA looks failing

    • Yes it works for Amex now, wasn’t working before

    • Yeah works for me too

  • Just purchased 5 cards, Westpac MasterCard and worked 1st time.

    • 2 factor sms ?? or straight payed

      • It sent me a code, but Westpac do this to me often.

  • BoM, Westpac both failed..

  • Both Westpac and BOQ debit cards failed

    • yeah i used debt cards too, no luck…oh well.

  • -2

Thanks for sharing OP. Grabbed 30 in 3 transactions, paid with Westpac Debit Card. After that, started giving me errors from buying. OzBargainers crashing the website!! Love it.

    • Did you change any details?

  • +1

So best value is $250 for $231.3 which is 7.5% discount?

  • Tried 2 Amex Plat CCs, 1 Citi CC, 1 Westpac DC, 1 ING DC, all failed.

  • +5

Keep getting ‘please contact customer support error’ after completing challenge verification. Tried different details and browser with no luck. Anyone else having same issue?

    • all same issues

      • Incognito browser on desktop (with another email address) just worked

  • +2

Same card got 'transaction failed' 1st time but worked fine in cognition mode w/ another email address.

    • Interesting, Ubank was declined for me the first time, but just worked in incognito mode using another email address. Thanks for the tip!

Bought 10 x $250 about 10 minutes ago and received all within 7 minutes using Crypto.com card, and also earned CRO, sold it and withdrew to bank account 😊

    • Sold it? Where?

      • Sold CRO I mean, on the Crypto.com app

  • has anyone paid land tax SRO with this?

    • Yes but with a fee.

    • I paid land tax with it in Tas, no fee.

    • Yep. Just make sure you get the decimals right. Dont want to miss 1c and SRO chasing you interest for the whole lot.

  • Thanks OP.

Purchased, and it went through the first time (Bankwest CC, with 2FA).

    • worked with 2FA ??

      • Yes correct… The little window where CC details are entered changed, I received the code sent via SMS and entered it, and got the Tax Invoice immediately.

Now received the Gift Card too.

  • seems to be having issues with VISA 2FA , all visa cards have failed.

    • My mastercards are failing. I got a kogan visa through this morning then nothing after that.

  • I called up Bankwest (because of the failings) and was advised that giftcards are considered cash and may incur a cash advance fee. Anyone encountered this?

    • +1

That's old news that has been fixed up

      • What do you mean "fixed up"?

        • It was considered cash advance for some cards but it was patched up

So person you spoke to giving you old news

    • +1

Last deal I purchased 5 of the $250 ones with a Bankwest credit card and did not incur a cash advance fee.

  • +1

Tried so many times across multiple browsers and it constantly failed with Westpac MC and Virgin Visa card. Switched phones and used ANZ card and it worked — received quite quickly too.

  • It's just luck of the draw sometimes work sometimes not

It's not ya card or browser

Only thing need is a different email

  • So, one interesting thing I've noted is that when you do the 2FA to verify payment, the website actually attempts a temporary check via the UK. Why I think this:
    1) When I tried my CBA card for the first time, it told me it blocked an international payment of $0.00.
    2) When I made a purchase using Microsoft Edge, a pop-up just after confirmation had a link to a .co.uk site (the pop-up quickly disappeared so couldn't check).

So a theory may be that it's checking the card using an off-shore verifier, which is blocked if you block international transactions. That being said, I enabled international transactions and it still failed, BUT this may be an additional reason for the high failure rate.

    • @highwind

      Nice theory, but no.
The banks are saying its not them blocking.

  • I looked through the thread, apologies if I missed it:

Anyone else have an issue where not all the cards came through? I bought 4, but only received emails for 3.

    • didnt have this problem myself, but when did you buy the cards? they say you should receive them within 4 hours, so you may just need to wait a tad longer for the 4th one

      • Four and a half hours ago at this stage, and still no sign of the 4th one.

The first three all came through with the same time stamp. I'm thinking maybe they got caught up as spam, but on the server side even before getting to my mailbox.

        • +1

Update on this: I ended up calling the 1300 number. They advised one of the four had been bounced back by my server and they'd re-send, I should get it within 5 minutes. It worked, I have all 4 now.

    • Yeah, still waiting for the last one from 8 .. bought this morning (more than 4 hrs)

  • worked with Suncorp Visa

    • declined for me same card

  • -2

Bought some but now getting issue again.

  • payment gateway is slow

  • Westpac say it's the OTP verification falling over.

Guessing Mastercard can handle 'x' transactions per second…and OZB has smashed it.

  • Bought 4x $250 with Amex card no problems.
