  • Off topic, does anyone have the indoor cam 2nd gen and have issues trying to connect to live view in the app?
I find it connects without issue 1 out of 10 times. The other times I need to close the app and try again.

    • Not with the indoor cam, I have the echo show 5 that has the built in camera. I also experience the connectivity issues but more often, I'd say about once every 3 tries. However, using the Google Home app with to access the live echo view is much more reliable for me.

    • I dont have any issues and had it since it was released. I'm actually using one of my indoor cams outdoor, it's under an awning out of the rain and direct sun but still with >95% humidity when raining. No issues with it, or the one in a tin shed 30m from the house. What does the RSSI show? Try changing locations, also try a different USB cable.

      • Is yours gen 1 or 2? I have gen 1 as well which work flawlessly.
RSSI-40 is that good or bad? It’s in the room next to the modem. The room further away with a gen1 is RSSI-56 and always works fine.
The gen1 camera in the room next to the wifi is RSSI-39.
Only the middle room is gen2

        • The lower the number the better, with Ring cameras you generally want 50 or lower. So 40 is a strong signal and should not be causing issues.

I'd try changing your phone from mobile data connection to home wifi and vice versa and see if that changes anything. Or try connecting that camera to the guest network if your router has one. You can also just try moving it in to the modem room and power it with a different cable. Or try resetting it back to factory and set it up again. It's just a case of trial and error, if none of this works it might be faulty.

I sometimes have issues with my kitchen Echo Show 10, the signal is fine but the fridge, wifi kettle etc is in direct line between it and the router. So it's like these create interference.
