  • Sony is not in the party this time

Good prices on Sennheiser momentum 4 refurbs, just slightly over trs minimum too.

    • hmm tempted as i am going overseas soon but i have 3 headphones already albeit one is crap broken band and both are old, micro usb charging

    • Momentums have been around $395 on Amazon for a couple weeks until recently, drops to that price fairly often not sure if $80 off for refurb is too great.

Fair enough. I’m flying out soon so suits my case, plus still has the 2 year warranty and free 30 day return so not too fazed by it being refurb.

        • +1

If you're lucky it could be a simple return due to firmware issues that people have with them that you probably won't experience. I have a pair and when it connects to two devices at once you have to reset the headphones otherwise they don't function properly.

  • Is buying a refurbished watch (like Apple Watch) a good/bad idea? Could it have too many marks/scratches? Could the battery be too bad?

Apple Watch 7 GPS 44 is for around $311 after discount. The new is at $474, that is about 35% higher.

I see new Apple Watch and Samsung Watch for dirt cheap at Cashies and Facebook Marketplace all the time, way cheaper than the refurb even with the discount coupon. Samsung in particular comes bundled a lot so they flood the secondary market.

      • Oh really I'm lookin to buy a series watch right now.

Potentially a series 9 gps for $300 on marketplace (is that good?)

        • Cheapest Series 9 GPS on Cashies's online shop is ~$450, so seems like a decent deal. I was eyeing a Watch5 LTE personally at my local cashies, brand new in box and marked down twice already at $200. It ended up selling a few days ago, not sure at what price. In comparison on Facebook its around ~250-ish for a used one.

Careful with refurbished iPhones. Almost all of them have generic (non-genuiune) batteries at 80%. Future reliability and performance is a bit of a crap shoot.

    • Trying my luck with an "as new" 13… can always return to supplier. And worst case a new battery is $150 from Apple.

      • I feel better now with 2x/2y Care+ any damage & batt replace for $99 for superior S23 Ultra for $1.6k with extra bonus 45w charger/Smart case/ear buds2 & free Care+ (compared to $150 for iPhone batt that is 2x less effective. Mine lasts 2-3d if I charge 100%, but I do 20-80% :)

    • lol quite funny this is genuine statement. I bought one last year it’s almost brand new

  • Looking for a refurb dell laptop from Harris Tech. Any thoughts or experiences?

    • +6

Harris are a shocker. They have cancelled somewhere on order of four of my last eBay purchases from them. When push came to shove they simply decided that they did not feel like fulfilling. Of course they got to enjoy squatting on a portion of my cash for a few days in the interim.

Avoid them at all costs. Never again.

      • Thanks mate. Just the kind of info I was after.

Any comment about buying refurb laptops in general. I bought an iPhone a few months ago. That has been working fine. Not sure about laptops.

        • +1

I have generally done okay with ACT, and their rep is active on here. Of course their response times slow when they are getting hammered but that is par for the course.

@zbc: Compnowclearance are also quite reputable and reliable as well. They sell excess new, open box and used computing equipment. Their ad description are quite specific and accurate (many other sellers use vague generic descriptions).

            • @Buy2Much: ebay didn't find the store with Compnowclearance name.
              Can you, please provide link?

            • @Buy2Much: Yes link please? Interested

              • @CyberMurning: @simb24 & @CyberMurning. Seller store here. They are not in the refurb promo this time but were in the past. FEBSAVE code works on their store at the moment.

    • @tubelight
Any good in particular from Harris?

    • I just did exactly this.
Shipping was a little delayed, but it's just arrived.

Harris had it listed as "Certified - Refurbished" (highest rating for a refurbished item).
Supposed to be "as new" condition with 100% battery health.

The reality… scratches on the casing (even some sticker residue no had bothered to clean off) and 73% battery health. So, technically the unit doesn't even qualify for Ebay's refurbished program.

Have messaged them asking for an exchange with 100% battery or partial refund. Gotta keep these cowboys in check.
      Will keep you posted.

      • That doesn’t sound good at all mate. Hope it gets sorted soon.
