      • Think the XU1 quality is below Aldi. Its terrible!

      • Also eyeing on one of these since some of plants grown to tree height lol

  • Great…I'll pick one up.

I was going to ask if someone could recommend a gauge for tyre inflation until I saw a photo of the back of the High Pressure Inflator

I will change my question to 'how accurate is the built in gauge on the High Pressure Inflator for tyres e.g around 32PSI'?

    • +1

Project Farm tested a few pumps including accuracy
      https://youtu.be/kWNYjkh-JyI

Maybe one of the models he tested matches the same "generic" model of Ozito. Usually there is one.

  • I got one last year. It works pretty well. It inflates the balls, the bike tyres quickly and you can set a target PSI and let it run by itself.

  • Does the high pressure or high volume inflator has a deflate function?

    • It appears not. This one does both and its only $5 more than compared to getting two of the others.

      • -1

I just ordered the high pressure.

So say the a ball was 10psi and too bouncy and I wanted to reduce it to 8psi, it can't do it?

Why not just deflate using a needle? My needle has a one way valve so I can't deflate it with just the needle.

        • you can deflate a ball with a needle, but you can not deflate a air mattress or boat.

          • @pkbaby: You can deflate a ball with some needles, not all.

      • The deflator function refers to the high volume only btw, it won't reduce on high pressure side.

Not sure why on the stand-alone high volume inflator they didn't make the intake compatible with the connector so could easily use for deflation as well.

    • the high volume has a deflate function, its in the manual. you connect the hose into the top which is the inlet.

the high pressure has no deflate, i have not seen this on any high pressure inflator. you just stick something into the valve and press the needle and they will deflate quickly.

Too bad they're not price-matching on the 8Ah battery. (Bunnings $179 Aldi $99)

    • +2

Agree, that was one of the first things I checked when I noticed the price drops, lol.

    • Yeah I wonder if they consider it not comparable, since the Ozito 8Ah allows switching to 5Ah for longevity.

    • it's depressing that Ozito (ie Einhell) battery technology has overtaken Makita using 21700 cells. Makita asleep at the wheel on battery technology, their LXT has not seen an improvement in over a 7 years.

  • "Black Series" battery is $1 cheaper if your local happens to have it in stock.

    https://nrby.in/bunnings/0169989

  • Belay that; the combo pack with 2× 4Ah batteries and the dual charger for $99 is back in stock.

  • Great! Have been waiting for the price for the cordless high pressure air Inflator to come down. I think it was about $50+. I can use my Onepass (from the Officeworks deal) for free delivery too 😊

  • Cordless heat gun sounds convenient but a previous deal mentioned 17mins runtime on 4Ah battery. Sure you wouldn't do it continuously but still feels like a real quick way to kill your batteries in the long run.

The nozzle won't be the only thing getting hot…

    • +1

That would suggest the heat gun averages around 250W. (It is rated for 280W)

Which is much less than the continuous draw from tools like the brushless angle grinder and the lawn edger. The 4Ah battery is rated for 900W, and I have had run times grinding and edging that are 500W+ continuous until flat. The battery gets quite warm, but not problematically so.

I suspect 250W won't have a huge impact on battery wear.

  • Also, if you're going to spend $200, then it's probably worth joining OnePass for a month to collect the 4× extra flybuys points on the purchase, making the sub "free".

  • Are their any reviews available to show how long to pump a tyre from flat to 42 psi?

  • Bought but might not have been the best move as I have the Ryobi eco-system.

Just now looking for the cheapest way to get a Ozito battery/charger OR buy a ryobi-ozito battery adapter - these costs are slowly pushing to the Ryobi Inflator at $99.

    • 3 x 4.0ah Ozito batteries for $99 and 2 x 4.0ah batteries and dual fast charger for $99.98.

      https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/829447

    • They do exist, but are a bit chunky due to the design of ryobi batteries and pricey for what they are ($42) here.
I'd probably rather spend the money on getting the battery and charger for ozito.

  • Went for the heat gun and inflator, cheers OP.

  • time to return the inflator brought two days ago.
    thanks op

  • +1

Whats the normal price on the inflators?

    • +1

Pretty sure it was $60. I just checked and I paid $60 last October.

  • This inflator is excellent, balls, bicycle tyres & even checking/topping up vehicle tyre pressure. Highly recommend

    • Just confirming, if you want 34psi and the tyre is 38psi, will it deflate it to reach the target 34?

      • I can't remember the exact mechanism it uses for it but I was able to deflate a tire with the inflater acting as a pressure gauge

        • Thanks for confirming.

          I hope it's accurate.

  • Got one for my scooter. Thanks.

  • Can anyone recommend this or the Xiaomi Air Pump 1S?

    • The Xiaomi Air Pump 1S and other small pumps are handy to throw into your sports bag for balls but you don't really want to be using them to pump car tyres on a regular basis.

      • Wait really? I thought the Mi Pump's primary purpose was to use for car tyres?

  • What does 'skin only' mean in this context?

    • No batteries included i guess

    • +3

      Skin means tool only.

      • -2

Skin means you can't use it when you're wearing clothes

  • +1

I go to local hardware stores (Mitre 10) expecting things to be dearer but they're actually not any worse than Bunnings from what I've seen.
Saved the hassle of a giant carpark, giant store and people everywhere too.

  • Anyone know if Bunnings will match the Aldi Cordless 2-in-1 Pole Pruner and Hedger Skin $99.99?

    The closest Bunnings has is:
Ozito PXC 18V Pole Hedge Trimmer - Skin Only $199 + Ozito PXC 18V Cordless Pruner Attachment $68.15 for a total of $267.15

  • What’s the difference between the red and black batteries?

    • +1

From what I have read, they are the same except for the colour. So it may or may not be true.

They generally sell the black ones when price matching Aldi deals etc. It may be there is no stock of the black ones, hence price matching with the red batteries.

  • Thanks OP, got one!

  • +2

Got the High Pressure Air Inflator online but somehow between the order and the invoicing I actually ended up with the kit that included a 2.5Ah battery and charger!!!!!! Even the receipt says the kit:

    0389806 1 EACH AIR INFLATOR C/LESS OZITO PXC++18V KIT W/1X2.5AH PXHPCK-250 35.45 67.2% 35.45 3.54 38.99

    So this one:

    https://www.bunnings.com.au/ozito-pxc-18v-cordless-high-pres…

    Bargain!

    • Wow, that's a great result!

    • Have you checked your bank? xx

      • +1

Sure have. $38.99. Was a spur of the moment purchase. Now a keeper.

  • Does the Ozito inflator have an adjustable auto stop feature?

    • -1

Yes, but for PSI it starts at 20, and goes in 10 increments …

      • +1

Incorrect. It does PSI in steps of 1 psi. It also has an auto as well as manual mode.

        • I'm happy to be corrected, but how did you do that? I need 10SPI for my bike tyres, but couldn't do that in auto mode … manual doesn't mention that: https://media.prod.bunnings.com.au/api/public/content/a198fe…

          • +1

@neophytte: No problem.Sorry if I am over explaining, but I figure I should give you all the steps to make it easy to follow. I would make a rubbish teacher, lol.

Battery in, bump the front trigger switch up to turn it on, then press the mode button (top of the display) to cycle to PSI.

Then the use up/down buttons below the display. Just tap once at a time and you can go from as low as 3 PSI up to its max.

Then hook it up and use whatever mode suits you, auto or manual. It will cut out when it hits your preset pressure.

            • @revheadgl: @revheadgl apologies - I wrote PSI, but it was actually kPA … starts at 20kPA and goes in steps of 10, indeed the PSI starts at 3 and goes in steps of 1 …

              • @neophytte: All good. That explains it, lol. 1 PSI is 6.9 KPA so it makes sense to step in increments of 10kpa as it's metric.

  • +2

Ozito PXC 18V High Pressure Inflator $38.99 is a absolute gem I wish I brought one years ago.
So easy to check and inflate tires set and forget just push the Auto button and that is it.
I have a air compressor and I will never use it to inflate my tyres again
