They don’t pay out, place the blame on ShopBack (who in turn blame them), then ignore emails, reach out here after a negative comment and then ignore messages after promising to look into it

Overall, Cashrewards' customer service and willingness to problem solve is faaar better than ShopBack, in my experience

      • -1

Hey, we are going live with Cashrewards on the 23rd! Cheers

        • +2

How about addressing the ShopBack tracking issues vs dodging the comment?

        • +1

@Jahaz777 what's the deal with the shopback issues… sounds like fraud to me.

    • +2

Last year I bought a similar offer and it tracked without issue and I got my refund. Most people get caught out because they leave their adblocker on causing the cross site tracking to break. It will track within a few days of purchase and from there it'll work. If it doesn't track then just ask for a refund.

      • I have an automation set to turn the ad blocker when off I open ShopBack

        • -2

Automation = I do the same but in a peasant way. As I use a PiHole server and Browser adblockers it's easy.
Method, via a Batch command shortcut runs: a) Open browser to preferred site, b) send cmd to Pihole to pause for 30mins. That's it. Browser Adblockers are already set to allow Shopback etc.

One of course needs to ensure that the site you are buying from is not blocked by browser plugins. I get around it by using a seperate browser with no Adblockers (part of above batch cmd). Easy and works for me.

@Borg: Why the neg for passing on an idea that works and may be of interest to others (or not)?
Its just information and not an opinion hence nothing to neg that I can fathom!

I got my cashback paid with no dramas

  • +1

I got my cashback as well without drama, just had to wait the time for it to be processed. Pretty good VPN service too.

    Hi everyone,

Today, I bought this and wanted to share my results:

    • I purchased the standard VPN plan for 24 months at US $54.95, which converted to AUS $84.60 (paid with Apple Pay through my Suncorp No fees account).
    • Tracking took just under 2 hours, but it only tracked $84.15.
I'm not sure why, but the tracking seems to be at 100% instead of the promised 120%. There was no tax, so that argument is out.

    Hope this information helps someone!

    • so while making payment, we have to select as US and pay in USD?

what are the other tips you would like to share?

  • Can this be used in China? Going to China next week for few weeks

    • +1

I tried purevpn December in China, because banking apps, woolworths etc not like china IPs, most time not working, sometime , maybe 20% of the time it works, but slow. Also HMA vpn not working properly, surprisingly, the VPN my kids get free from apple store works, so they can watch youtube.

You can also buy these esims, they seems bypassing the great firewall. I bought the one from Cuniq hongkong.

    • Was just in China, used SimpleLink VPN it's only ¥30 ($6.38 AUD) for a month with 200GB of data transfer. My home internet connection was saturated whereas with AirVPN and Mullvad they were at least half of the speed. The Desktop app sucks massively though.
In Guangxi the website was blocked by GFW, and so therefore I think the login process might not work if you are in China.

  • ShopBack? no, thank you.

  • +1

My purchase in november is is still pending $180. Its due next week what are my chances?

  • +2

No offence to the OP, but I'm gonna neg this deal.
I bought the 2 year plan for $171.19, and the cashback tracked at $165.30.
$6 is not a bad price for 2 years of VPN service, but it's not 120% cashback.

    • But no tracking problems at least!

  • Rakuten NordVPN deal is much better, 100% cashback for 2 year plan + $10 uber voucher.

    • expired?

  • Read all comments look like ShopBack is lying when indicated 120% cash back ?

  • Looks like the shopback site is now saying 100% cashback

  • +3

Still waiting on my cashback from the November deal. Any day now

      • Mine's still saying pending. Supposed to be confirmed today but not liking my chances. Maybe next week, else I'm going to contact them about it.

        • How did you go? Mine was due earlier this week but still pending. Over 3 months now.

            • @xwx: I did that and also submitted a ticket. They responded but still have not credited despite it being 3+ months and all the issues people are having

I also messaged @gotyourback 2 days ago but no reply yet.

They need to stop promoting this until they sort out their issues.

              • @arcticmonkey: Hey mate, cheers for flagging, I'll take a look at your DM ASAP. I will say, however, that when approval is delayed this typically down to the fact that the last stage of approval comes from the merchant (so that they can check that no refunds or cancellations etc have occurred before Cashback is paid out). Occasionally merchants will run late on this last stage of approval, at which point we will absolutely chase them up on your behalf. The best way to do that is to use the "Enquire" button like @pixxelpusher has done. I can help by trying to escalate these enquiries for you, without that enquiry there isn't much I can do to specifically help.

Appreciate you letting us know, I'll flag with the team that work with PureVPN in the hopes that this can be fixed up soon.

                • @gotyourback: Hi

I clicked that option days ago and also submitted a ticket but this has still not been resolved

It seems like this is a problem for many people with the ShopBack and PureVPN deals so I hope you can resolve it promptly.

                  Thanks

                  • @arcticmonkey: Great, our team will be well on the way to resolving this for you with PureVPN, thanks heaps for your patience!

                    • +1

@gotyourback: My post has been blocked by the ShopBack Super Savers Facebook group.

Why would you hide posts? Not something an honest business would do.

I hope I don't see you promote any further PureVPN deals until this issue is resolved. Many people are experiencing similar issues.

                      • @arcticmonkey: Hey mate, thanks for keeping me informed here, let me try my best to answer all of your q's here.

First and foremost, Super Savers is not a Customer Service avenue, if our moderator feels they aren't able to assist you via the group there, your post may be rejected so you can be pointed towards our Customer Care team. It's part of the Group's rules that Customer Service queries are not to be published. We have recently published one as we've become aware that this is an issue affecting multiple users so that anyone who comes to the group can see that his is a known issue being worked on, but individual issues are best managed by CS which is why some posts will be rejected.

As for your ticket, occasionally tickets will be automatically closed after a period in error, which appears to be the case here. I can see that our team have since been in touch to chase this up.

I have also escalated your specific case and example case as part of flagging this as an ongoing issue with PureVPN, they will user your specific case to investigate why these aren't being approved which should further escalate your case.

Should you have any other queries here, do reach out via DM so that I can assist and I will get back to you as soon as I am able.

@xwx: Cheers for the flag, mate! Yep, will provide updates there as well.

                • @gotyourback: It seems like Jessie has closed my ticket for some reason? This has not been resolved.

                • +1

@gotyourback: @gotyourback most of us havent been paid yet. It's been 5 months mate.

                  • @poxy001: Exactly.

@gotyourback / ShopBack should really be paying this out and collecting the funds off PureVPN.

My relationship is with ShopBack regarding the cashback, not PureVPN and ShopBack is the one that advised the timelines.

This is clearly a tracking bug that is impacting many people (the other thread has over 3 times as many people reporting a bug than reporting the cashback went through).

It's not fair to keep people waiting this long after escalation.

There are thousands of dollars which are in limbo based on the votes in the other thread.

@arcticmonkey: Hey mate, I updated on your other comment.

I understand your frustration mate, and we are working on exactly as you suggest and seeing if resolving from our end is possible.

          • +1

@arcticmonkey: I checked and there was an "enquiry" button on the cashback so clicked on that.

Got an email saying they are "reviewing your order with the merchant."

And "we will promptly update your Cashback Status to ensure it accurately reflects your order. This may take some time, and we assure you that we are working diligently to expedite this procedure."

            • +1

@pixxelpusher: It's bullshit. They have likely pocketed the money themselves and shafted their customers

              • +1

@poxy001: Hey mate, until Cashback is approved we don't receive commission on the purchases. No need to assume malicious intent mate. We want you to get your Cashback as much as you do.

I've been following this up daily to get this resolved. It's a technical issue, that we are now looking at alternative solutions for now. I will update ASAP.

  • Yep SB site says 100% now

  • Bought last June 2 year plan for $85 got back $97 from shopback.

Really not a happy chap with PureVPN. Very slow in general and cannot get connections and will finally will after some few tries. Does not function at all at streaming sites eg Netflix et all.

Surfshark was way more better than this and cannot wait for my sub to finish and try others or go back to Surfshark next time around.

Avoid at all costs and oh that reminds me, better get my cashback back. I have completely forgotten about it until this post reminded me.

@Aidan0098 this is fraud. When you you going to respond?

      • Why would you tag me three times at around 10pm on a Monday night and questioning why I haven't responded? What do you think I am, a mod? 😂

  • I bought a "lifetime" plan on stacksocial years ago which was actually a 5 year + 5 year manual renewal. It was like pulling hen's teeth getting the renewal. Had to jump through hoops, pull the deal page from archives to show them. By the time I got it, I was already on another provider.

The silver lining is that at least the provider is still around

  • Be careful. Mine wasn't paid out by the deadline. I'm going to be persuing other options if this isn't resolved as it's fraud to me.

    • @Aidan0098 you need to respond to this.

  • I am still waiting the Shopback to confirm my cashback on 27/11/2023 promotion.

    • @aiden

    • -1

@Aidan0098 you need to respond to this.

    • same here

  • Mine was still pending by due date (23/2).

The next day, still pending but enquire button came up in red now and i just clicked it. Didn't need to provide any details, just confirm so they can start investigating.

As of yesterday, it was approved and funds have been made available now.

Was slightly worried initially but glad it turned out already.

And yes, did take a but of time to sort out.
