Yes is true, after 10 hour flight to the hotel at 11pm the room was not even similar to described on qantas hotels. Not even a window or ac
Was priced and labelled as suite, not a buyer error (or too good to be true price)But the hotel apparently copy pasted (unintentionally) the quality room details to all the most basic dorm inventory

The response from qantas hotels.
We don't make the descriptions so if they are inaccurate being it up with the hotels we do not refund or credit on their behalf.
Moral of the story
Qantas is s t and didn't give a f k how well your holiday goesAnd every dollar you spend qantas wants but doesn't want to be accountable
Which booking sites are you referring to? I’m always tempted by those cashback deals but assumed it would be better to avoid booking with third party websites in case something goes wrong.
Booking.com, Expedia, Wotif. The later two are the same company and often have 14.5% cashback. My preference is Booking.com though but you usually don't get more than 12%.
Any views on the value of using points on this site to book a hotel?
Meh, 14% cashback (or at least 12%) is almost always on at the major booking sites which are usually cheaper as well and with a much better interface and customer support that exists (good luck if anything goes wrong with Qantas Hotels). I only bother with Qantas Hotels if I have a voucher to use and its a short stay.
