One of the hottest telescopes around atm. Generally goes for around $900, so this is quite a bit cheaper but with a bit of a wait on delivery.
Not sure what the price is without Ebay plus though.
ZWO Seestar S50 All-in-One Smart Telescope, Wi-Fi & BT $832.99 ($813.39 eBay Plus) Shipped @ Ausriver via eBay

I have one of these … it's great, but the bad nighttime weather in Sydney over the few months have made it difficult to utilise; solar photo's during the day are fun too
250mm focal length,f/5, 1920x1080 Sony sensor, is it really that good?
I have one and that lens is perfect for its purpose, photos of nebulae and galaxies etc. It will take 10s exposure after 10s exposure, stacking them in real time. After a few minutes you'll see amazing nebulae.
Not designed for planets though which appear little little discs.
Apparently it can't do panorama / mosaic images, but was rumoured to get this according to a forum post from 2023. Do you know if it's likely to get this feature? Are they still updating it with new features?
They're adding new features regularly and I've already received two updates. There are a few youtubers who go through each new feature each release.
No mosaic mode yet though.
On the whole I have been pretty impressed how polished the experience is.
By the reviews of the smart telescopes, its roughly a 1/4 of the cost of a better one that does about 2x as good photos, but its app doesnt appear to be anywhere near as good.
Or go full pro and sink a lot more into it to get those better results, with a steep learning curve.
A comparison review

Review:
https://www.cloudynights.com/topic/894064-seestar-s50-first-…Looks genuinely impressive at this price and ease of use.
Sample image of Jupiter shows the limitations, but still quite interesting.

Is this drop shipping from zwo, may as well order direct, or go with one of the 'authorised distributors', but at a higher price.
That is true, but also, this is ozbargain…
I mean isn't the magic of telescopes the fact that light from another planet is entering your own eyes?
This just kind of looks like someone else taking photos of stuff and sending it to your phone, might as well just google it.
true, but this telescope shows things that your eyes cannot see.
Personally, I have another telescope for viewing, great at looking at planets etc, but constantly found myself wanting to capture good photos of what I was seeing, but mostly wanting to see the Deep Space Objects, like galaxies and nebulae. Most are invisible to the naked eye and the ones you can see appear as smudges since your eyes can't capture the light from them to turn into the sort of images you see online.
Is this good for searching for bargains in other galaxies?
