Coupon doesn't work… got one in email, but won't accept it.

    • Are you trying to pay with Zip? I had issues with it too, but I was trying to pay with Zip cause it says "Valid only on orders over $100. Coupon excludes … any purchases paid with Zip".

    • Worked fine when I did my order, new account.

    • Worked using a clean browser. (using PayPal)

    • NOTE FOR FUTURE DIGIDITECT PURCHASERS

I revoked my positive vote on this deal.

As the first commentor and one of the first to order, my order is also delayed. This is a very big red flag as they now sit with thousands of OzBargainer dollars with no ETA on stock.

I will personally not purchase anything from them again and will come back here to add a note on the eventual delivery or other.

    • Unlikely to work if you use the new user voucher though.

      • Good point.

  • Sign up coupon code doesnt work for me either. Paying with PayPal

Still waiting for the magic unicorn Nest Locator Tag …. soon?

    • I'm waiting for magical unicorn 'find my device' functionality from Google.

      • +1

I did some reading and from the leaks it looks like Android users would have to opt in to be used as detector for the service and there would evdn be a levrl of involvemrnt. Considering how passive people are I am not expecting to reach as good of a coverage as Apple where every Sheeple participates whether they like it or not (in a typical Apple fashion)
I am now even considering an AirTag registered with a friend to track my luggage during travels.

        • If you don’t want an iPhone, you could have an iPad to pair AirTag. Everyone has a table, right? :)

    • +1

Anyone think or have heard samsung air tags could become compatible with the new Google location tags in the future?
Like via a firmware update,, if that's even possible

      • +2

They haven't spoken of such a feature, but Chippolo and Pebblebee have had pre-orders on compatible tags for months now, apparently waiting on Apple to action some functionality in regards to security at request of Google prior to release.

        • +2

To quote a good Reddit comment I saw earlier: if I wanted to have apple bend me over I'd have bought an iphone. Google could just implement for Android today and add apple later.

          • @gakko: Yeah, I agree, but I think the lure of a cross-platform tracker is seen as a good sell (which Apple could still pull support on)

Horrible way to earn new customers when you code is not working.

Just collecting your information and doesnt give the discount.

  • +1

Is the code unique? I'm very likely not to use mine IR72HZW0

these are great little devices, heaps better than that crap from apple. my galaxy s10 works with it and i love using these in my bags, even have one tucked away in my car.

    • Am I right in thinking there's still a limit of 2 if you want to use the "tell me when I'm no longer near it" alerts?

      • no idea what you are talking about sorry.

  • +1

The $10 off code worked for and I paid with paypal

If your coupon doesn't work, use a clean browser and don't login.

    • Thanks. That worked

  • +1

    Worked, bought, happy.

  • -6

    what are these used for

    • To compete with Apple for better value tracking of your forgetfulness ;)

  • +3

is this the same as apple tags? i.e. it uses samsung devices to triangulate?

    • +1

Yes, same concept I think. From this review, the 2 things, maybe 3, I definitely like about it, which I think the Air tag doen't do, is:

      • Bluetooth range of up to 120m without obstacles
      • you can see the places it has been, ala location history
      • maybe the 3rd thing, if Air Tag does not have this feature. From the Samsung site, Find it in Lost mode: When Lost Mode is activated, the Galaxy SmartTag2's NFC (Near Field Communication) displays your registered contact information and message on the finder's smartphone, regardless of the OS.
      • ah. thank you for confirming. one con I think vs airtag would be lower devices available
every second person is rocking an iPhone but I don't think every other person has a Samsung
Also depends on country I think. Western nations = apple, less wealthy nations = android of which potentially samsung

        • +4

They done some test in Melbourne side by side also with a dedicated gps for reference and the Samsung came out on top.

          • +1

@LowRange: Agree, I saw a comparison video too and the Samsung was more reliable and more accurate. I have apple and Samsung devices but I think I’ll go with this one.

        • Logically you would have to assume that is the case, but the real world reviews indicate that Samsung's system seems to be comparable and in some cases better.

Once Google get theirs off the ground, and if Samsung make theirs compatible it would get interesting.

Can you ring the phone with the tag. half of my use with Title Tags is to ring the phone because I forgot where I put it in the house.

        • For Samsung, You can just say Hey Bixby - how's the whether today to find the phone.

        • Yes it can by double pressing the button and also you are able to setup 2 automation including smart home automation as per this youtube video. Watch til the 2:48 mark where he mentions the "reverse find" ringing phone bit.

        • Yes you can. By pressing the tag's button.

  • Do Samsung phones need to opt-in to being used for crowd sourcing tag locations?

Wondering whether to wait for Google Find My Device tags to be released.

    • I'd get these if I knew via an update they could become google 'find my device' compatible, but all I find via search is others hoping the same, no evidence it's possible or could happen

      • From what I recall, Google had to finalise a spec for Apple to adopt so that a Android tag slapped on a victim's car/… would alert the victim on their iPhone, and that spec was finalised late last year.

I want to put one on the dog, but in a non-congested area, can't rely on the number of Samsung phones who have opted in to something.

I don’t think so, I brought one recently during vacation to test it and my family tracked my location accurately. I don’t even use Samsung phone. Pretty surprised myself.

Though honestly if it were the case, knowing phone companies, it’s probably on by default.

      • That sounds promising. Thanks.

  • Are the batteries replaceable?

    • Yes, CR2032 flat battery.

      • Thank you

  • These tags look like my dermoscope

  • Can someone compare with apple airtags?

  • Computer shops sell them at $55 EACH. So it's pretty good deal.

Just received email that my order that I placed within 20 minutes of the deal is now on backorder and no ETA.. :(

  • Received same email. No stock, no ETA

  • +2

Got the same generic email, and when I ordered, it definitely did not say "AWAITING STOCK", hence for the post.

"…As our website stated these products are Awaiting Stock. Samsung Smarttag2 - 4 Pack (2 X Black And 2 X White) - The Current Expected Time of Arrival is to be advised…"

Not sure what others experience is ordering online from digiDirect, this is my first time, but it's a bit dodgy to me when it shows "as if there is stock", you order, and you get this email a few days later saying no stock and no ETA. I'll definitely think twice before ordering anything online off them in the future since there is no guarantee there is actual stock.

  • Same. "As our website stated these products are Awaiting Stock" - these were definitely not showing as awaiting stock. Dodgy af.

Wanted this for a trip in 2 weeks time, dno if I should cancel or not as I signed up to get the $10 offer and for the trip - I lose either way :(

    • Im in the same boat. I leave in a week.

  • I purchased same day when the deal is on and has issues from that point as not valid voucher then email received as awaiting stock.
Horrible service and this deal was made to collect information of the customers.
Cheap and unrespectful company against the customers.

  • I cancelled mine.. person on phone said could take up to a month for stock to arrive then another 5-10 business days delivery per normal
Signed up for newsletter for nothing -_-

  • I had no email regarding stock being on back order and there was nothing to say awaiting stock or on backorder when I made the purchase.

Used paypal for payment so I didnt have to make an account with them.

Just rang to chase a delivery date and advised the order was pending payment. Gave them the paypal transaction number and confirmed paypal has charged my credit card. They are escalating the order with their accounts teams but……..

Like everyone else was told its on on back order and could be some weeks. Not sure I will purchase from DigiDirect again.

  • Update I got was ETA mid-late March

  • Still waiting….

  • I reckon should cancel and get via TGG commercial if you can:

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/836584

  • Finally received an e-mail today notifying that my order has shipped.

  • Also finally received email today that it has been shipped.

  • As the two previous posters. My order has just shipped.

  • Order arrived today.

  • Got them

  • Got mine as well.
