Hi OzBargain,

Today we've got another ripper system featuring the 5700X3D paired with a 4070 Ti SUPER. Impressively, in certain games, the 5700X3D tops the 7950X in performance and consistently with the 7600X. Hardware Unboxed did a fantastic review and benchmarking on this new awesome CPU - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MU-jUtrfANA. The new 5700X3D is now one of the best cost-per-frame CPU in the market surpassing the performance and value of both a 7600X and 5800X3D! Pathway to upgrade to the 4080 Super is also available :).

your test results will be saved to your desktop for you to view

I was under the impression windows was meant to be shipped with the OOBE to be completed by the end user, is windows already set up on your systems?

    • Unfortunately, we are unable to install Windows without a License purchased.

      • +1

I meant if someone did purchase a windows license, are the files still saved to desktop on windows (therefore set up), is windows shipped at OOBE, or does it ship with another OS?

Sorry for the confusion, just curious about how that works seeing as I think it's a microsoft nono. Could be completely wrong also!

        • +1

Oh right yep, if a Windows license is purchased then yes it will be ready to go as a OOBE. No need for the user to install Windows, we will do all that for you :).

          • @Nebula PC: Sorry now I am confused. I thought you install a non activated windows so the end user can activate the OS (or bear with the nag screens). So your systems come with no OS (unless purchased) and the user needs to install the OS from scratch?
Also curious how the test results will be saved on desktop if there is no OS.

            • @Roary: Not allowed to ship windows without activating, standard practice is for a linux distro to be installed if windows isn't purchased along with the hardware.

              • @harpsoce: Oh shesh.. times musta changed since I last bought a PC. So if I dont get an OS then I will need to also install all necessary drivers and software also.

                • @Roary: Really not hard with today's tech, not like in the old days where you had to put the mobo CD-ROM in just to get network connectivity up and running.

Windows will auto-install most basic drivers, Windows update will grab more recent ones from the vendors, and then you can go and install the important ones yourself (GPU & chipset mainly).

@fLaMePrO: I recently got a new comp. Windows 11 pro installed via usb boot up disc which I made using another computer. It was so simple. I haven't activated it yet but apart from minor nag, there is no issues no far at 3 months.

To be honest for my 6700XT GPU, the windows drivers were better than the latest AMD drivers which have caused screen tearing in Rocket League!

                    • @Naigrabzo: Interesting, I mean yeah I have heard AMD drivers don't have the best QC so maybe you have to research what the community considers to be the best "stable" version - I'm betting it is probably not the latest haha.

  • anything good value just for 4k video editing not gaming?

    • That would depend on what exactly you're trying to export and encode, and your standards for that. CPU encoding means you'll want a lot of cores/threads, while GPU encoding just means you want something like an Intel A750 or an RTX 4060. Might be worth waiting for an RTX 4050 in a few months.

But none of those GPUs would be good for modern 4K gaming.

    • Yes, it does depend, in general, any kind of "Gaming PC" is a universal kind of thing that can do all of the above including video editing. Do you know if the software you use to edit uses your GPU to render videos mostly?

      • Hi im using corel video studio pro 2021. I had a decent GPU but i think its stuffed as every time i try to publish a video using the GPU to speed it up it crashes, only works when i disable it, and the rendering when editing is very slow and glitchy and often crashes but used to work ok previously. Im not a computer guy, my brother built the computer for me a few years ago. I only want it for video editing and storage of videos (I already have 12TB of hard drive so dont need heaps of storgage)

  • Can anyone confirm the ANTEC AX90 MID-TOWER ATX - BLACK comes with PWM fans? I've heard it does and it doesn't from different people and I'd rather not spend the extra $ to get the LIAN LI O11 AIR MINI which I know does have PWM fans if I don't have to.

    • Hi John,

AX90 are PWM fans and both Lian Li cases :).

      • How sure are you about that as Antecs site doesnt mention PWM, while it does on other cases, and by just googling ANTEC AX90 MID-TOWER ATX the top google review says they "Dropped 1 star as the included fans are not 4pin PWM , these are 3pin ones. ".

  • How much if you keep the earbuds?

    • No price difference sorry, this is a promotion that isn't funded by us so it doesn't make a difference in cost for us.

  • Do you do ITX builds as well?

    • Can whip up a custom one yep!

  • Im waiting a deal with RTX 4060+ r5 5600x to buy from u guys!!!

  • Thoughts on this deal compared to:

Same CPU/GPU but a couple hundred less.
