    Margin +$178
    PCPP listed $918 less $178 = $803
$888 price generates 10% margin, pretty sharp work from Nebula

NVIDIA taking up half of PC build values is peak capitalism

    • +2

No wonder my NVDA stocks are going hard

    • +5

PCPP doesn’t include postage, which is easily $50 across all parts I found buying my first builds’ parts recently.

    • +16

I wish our margins were 10% haha, that’d be the dream in IT. Our cost price is definitely more than $803 for all components.

      • +1

how do you even make money with costs after build/support/delivery etc… oof

        • +5

And this is why you see so few small PC builders. It's a tough business

        • Margins for PC tech is tiny, Intel/Amd/Nvidia are the ones making the lion's share of profit.

EVGA for example was only making 5% profit on nvidia gpus which is why they stopped making them.

Most bigger margins come from upselling stuff like warranty/more ram.

    • +3

Their parts probably cost a lot less than what you see on PCPP. They would get kickbacks, bundle deals, bulk order prices etc. from their supplier bringing their overall cost price down.

    • +4

I can only assume that those parts just magically assemble themselves into a functioning computer after they arrive at the warehouse. The computers then use the Internet to find out where the warehouse landlord lives so they can threaten them with tire irons for free rent.

  • +1

    Wtf is an Aigo

    • +2

Very good PSU from our experience, same brand as DarkFlash. That’s why we’re stocking it :). RMA rate super low, that’s our priority with system builds. Other PSU upgrades available also. Aigo and Darkflash are more popular in the Eastern market than here!

  • Hi @Nebula PC,

The second link says expired and I tried using the code in the pair at checkout, but it doesn't work. Should it still be active?

    • Fixed that sorry, wrong link and deal.

  • Any chance of a video editing rig around $2000?

    • Yes, have plenty available. I’d recommend our Nightfall 4070 Ti rig. Can work out a sweet deal for you.

      • This is for 4k editing I would guess?

        • +3

I would hold off, I have a 3070Ti and the difference to a 4070Ti is minimal, the 4070Ti Super is what you want for 4K editing, trust me.
You can do 4K editing, but it also depends on the NLE if you use proxy editing techniques.
You wont get this for 2K obv, but if you're wanting a proper 4K GPU to edit with, you do need to pay for it, if you can wait, hold off as long as possible because that 4070Ti Super is an absolute beast for editing.

More CUDAs, 256 bus vs 192, 16 GB vs 12 GB.
Yes you pay more, but for editing, this is what you want without going overboard.
I do a ton of 4K editing, I have an 8GB GPU, it works but 16GB is where it's at for doing what you need to.
I have the paid version of Davinci Resolve too.

          • @[Deactivated]: What kind of price you reckon the whole system would cost if I wait another 3 - 6 months with 4070Ti Super in the config? Is $2500 possible you think? I just got a new job today so I can spend a bit more now than before

            • +5

@Aerith-Waifu: I do think 2500 is possible, I don't think you will have to wait too long either.
The thing is the benefits of having 16 GB VRAM over 12 is what you need for serious 4K editing.
The bus is better too so higher bandwidth, buy right the 1st time.
I wanted an AMD GPU but could never justify how poor of a performer it was when compared to what I have now.

              I run a
              5900X
              64 GB DDR4
              3070Ti

I have a bunch of SSDs and I only ever use my PC for editing.
My mobo is 3 years old, probably older, from the 3700X build I had.
I have been lucky to be able to reuse older stuff which means it's always been an incremental upgrade purchase.
I think I had the 980Ti in that 3700X build till I got the 3070Ti 2 years ago for $930 off here.
I bought 2 pairs of 32GB RAM at separate times, and my SSDs I have just been adding when I find them cheap.
Make sure you get a good case too.
If you wait 3-6 months, you're going to get a great setup, specifically for editing.

Start with 32GB RAM, spend more on the CPU, AMD is great value, I think I paid $500 for the 16 core, 32 thread, more than enough for editing and low TDP.
There is nothing wrong with the 4070Ti rig, BUT for editing, spend more and you will never regret it.
Puget systems is where you should be looking at for perf, especially editing.

Congrats on your new job too.

              • +1

                @[Deactivated]: Thanks! Great information

              • @[Deactivated]: Have been keeping an eye out for a 4K editing PC here for ages, but all the PC deals posted here are for gaming, for obvious reasons. And if any editing gear is ever posted (usully when someone asks for one in the comments and a rep directs to a link in the comments), it's insanely expensive. Buying the parts seperately as you suggested here is probably the only way to go, though I am not sure if it'll be cheaper. Also, have never built any higher end PC before (it has been more than a decade and half since I put one together). Kinda stuck.

                • +1

@AussieDaddy: 4080S will be too expensive for an edit rig imo, the best perf upgrade vs $ is the 4070Ti Super.
They should be $1500, and then you will want something like, well it depends on how much 4K you want to edit.
The GPU is the most important aspect here as it does real time scratching (ie scrolling through the timeline), hardware FX and then the render out.
You will need minimum 32GB RAM, a good CPU, multiple SSDs, and a well thought out budget.
My GPU is my achilles heel, it only has 8GB VRAM which is a bare min for 4K.
3070Ti has 256 bus, the 4070Ti went down to 192 which means a lower bandwidth than the newer 4070Ti Super which is back to 256.
For editing this is super important and the fact you're getting 16GB VRAM.
Compare this GPU to the 7900XT with 20GB, the 4070Ti Super destroys it.

                  This is for Davinci Resolve.

                  • @[Deactivated]: Ta. Instead of waiting for a built PC deal here, I might start watching deals for the parts you suggested here. And start watching YouTube tutorials on how to build modern PCs now. Thanks again for your detailed answer.

                    • +1

@AussieDaddy: Not a pro, if you're wanting a specific duty for a PC, optimize it for that tailored use, ie hardware and software, which means no games.
More bloatware means more possibilities of problem solving.
Also I only use the Studio drivers from nVidia instead of game drivers, which means better stability for editing.
For editing, you want 3 redundancies, meaning back ups for your projects if you're serious.
I always back my stuff up like this.

Build right the 1st time is the best way to do it.

  • Will you do a full Unactivated windows free installation too? Just after plug and play.

    • No sorry, we are unable to install Windows without a license purchased.

      • +2

hello sorry maybe i missed it..but what is installed when it states:

All Nebula PC systems come with an operating system installed

but you say its not windows..so linux or?

  • Hi, How possible is it to get a cheaper upgrade cost rather than the +100, for a Ryzen 5 5600?

And also, How strong do you feel about a 550w Bronze being enough here?

    • Sorry no, it’s our cost difference with as we don’t mass stock them as much as 5500 so price is higher.

It’s well more than enough for this system.

  • +1

First, good price and spec choice for a sub $1000 gamer!

You mention necessary driver and software installation plus saving of stress test results to desktop. That would require an OS to be loaded on - but the base operating system is just "operating system" with optional paid addons for Windows.

What's the go? I don't mind either way and love the option of buying a system without a paid license so I can get my own OS and license, just wondering!

    • Yes that is correct, we install an operating system that’s plug and play for you with all necessary drivers and software.

  • +4

Damn L-Dog this PC slaps for a grand how do you keep shit so real?

    • +4

Honestly we just don’t make money, it’s all volume based to make this possible. Margins are so so slim in the single digits.

      • I feel you shit be real yo

        • +3

I just keep my hand on my nine and squint through the blunt smoke like my man L

  • Would be good paired with the 7600 and Mobo deal yesterday, just slap the Mobo and motherboard from this with a cheap AMD GPU and resell.

  • +1

All Nebula PC systems come with an operating system installed

Wait.. so not windows or… is this one of those wink wink nudge nudge things…

Still got upgrades on the cards but just hasn’t been in budget unfortunately

    • +2

I'm guessing it's not not Windows (wink wink nudge nudge).

Wouldn't make any sense to install a Linux distro.

  • +2

I would suggest avoiding the $17 cashback for using PayID. Paying with a credit card provides valuable additional protection if things go wrong.

    • +4

Absolutely. It's just one of the only limited ways we can reduce costs further, payment processors destroy us in such a tight-margin industry.

  • Any idea on when this deal finishes?

    • Until we sell out :).

      • Thanks for that :)

It's my bday next week so waiting for a few $ from that. Hopefully lasts till then :)

  • Any plans for a build around $1500?

  • How does this compare with my AMD 7970 and Intel i5 3570 of many years ago?

I’d just like to play CS2 and PUBG at 1080p60 without issues.

    • +1

The RTX 4060 and Ryzen 5 5500 are a miles better combination, this rig will smash those games on 1080P with well more than 60FPS. I’m talking at least double as much FPS to what you’re getting now from my research. The 7970 is so old that I can’t find any direct benchmark comparisons to the RTX 4060.

      • How would this perform on PUBG for 1440P - High Settings.

Upgrading from MSI GS65 laptop with a 960 graphics

        • +1

For an estimated FPS benchmark you can checkout howmanyfps.com. This system is more suited for 1080P gaming however it is without a doubt a massive upgrade from your current laptop.

    • +1

The 4060 is around 4x faster than the 7970 while the cpu is around 3x faster. The build will do 1080p 144 fps easy in those games.

  • Will there be any PCIE 5.0 mobo upgrade options (B650E or X670E) on your next higher end rig?

    • +1

Potentially, really all comes down to price point and demand.

  • I need to upgrade the mobo if I want to use wifi especially a PCIe card like this one, right?

    • +1

Second PCIE is barely accessible, it will block airflow to the GPU. Only very thin wifi cards can fit. I’d recommend upgrading to the wifi board or use a USB dongle :).

      • So if I upgrade to the wifi board does that have on board wifi or can I add a PCIe wifi card later or both?

        • +1

Yes you will have onboard wifi and no need for the PCIE wifi card. If you’d like you can use that PCIE slot for something else in future, including a wifi card.

  • +4

I can advise that I bought the Guardian system from Lawrence a few months ago, he has the best after sales service that I have seen. There was a problem with my graphics card, I sent the pc back, he installed a new one, bench tesed and I had the pc back in 5 days. He is easy to talk to and the pc has not missed a beat.

I would highly recommend Nebula PC for a ready built computer.

    • Thanks for your support legend!

  • If I order Friday, when could I expect delivery to Metro Melbourne?

    • +1

Our despatch times are 7-10 business days from the order date, each system is hand-built meticulously and we don’t want to rush our work. Once depstached delivery is extremely fast as we use express couriers only.

The following are our estimated delivery time frames with our couriers after despatch:
Metro Sydney – Same-day delivery (for business addresses, authority to leave and customers available to take delivery)
Blue Mountains, Central Coast, Wollongong, and Newcastle - Same-day delivery (for business addresses, authority to leave and customers available to take delivery)
All other non-listed major regional town in NSW - Next business day
Metro Melbourne – Next business day
Metro Brisbane – Next business day
      ACT – Next business day
Metro Adelaide – 2 business days
      Tasmania – 3-4 business days
Metro Perth – 4-5 business days
Northern Territory – 5-7 business days

      • Could I order a system and then delay delivery? I’m overseas from mid Jan to early Feb…

        • +2

Yes, please let us know once you make your order and I’ll put a note for warehouse not to despatch your order but have it ready for courier pick up. We’ll make sure to deliver to you only when you’re back.

  • +1

have you heard anything on the new pricing for the 4080 supers? the word is they are $200 US cheaper so will that translate to us here and will we see any good 4080 super deals next month?

    • Bump, I'd really love to know if waiting for the supers is worth it and how long it'd be

  • Any idea when you will be doing 4070 Ti Super builds?

    • +1

      Keep an eye out.

      • Been thinking about purchasing the 7800X3D and 4080 build but have been hearing the 4070Ti Super would be comparable to the base 4080 in terms of performance? Is it better to hold out for the Super cards then?

        • They say 4080 super is $200 cheaper at RRP, probably will take some months for savings to filter through but

  • OzB brains trust (and store rep)!
What do we think about upgrading to the 7000 series?

Ryzen 5 7500F (+$150), MSI PRO B650M (+$150) and Corsair RAM (same GPU) jumps the price to $1,188.
Is that worth a $300 upgrade?

    • Depends on your budget and priorities, the newer platform will be more future-proof for you to upgrade down the track. I would recommend that personally, but if your budget is tight the AM4 platform still is fantastic and supported by AMD. Either way, both sensational value :).

      • Thanks mate.

        Unrelated question.
Will the stock case, stock PSU and MSI PRO B650M work for the included M2 drive plus 2 additional HDDs?

As in, is there space and enough power cables and mobo slots?
Want to buy the M2 but transfer over 2 existing HDDs I have.

        • +1

          Yes it will work.

        • +1

Yes it will work. You can do that without a problem.

Edit: Didn’t see my own reply lol…

          • @Nebula PC: Haha. No worries. I saw the original reply and have placed an order!
I sent an email in reply to the order confirmation asking for appropriate PSU cables to be left available (assuming your builds tend to tie up/tuck away unused cables) for me to add the HDDs upon arrival so hopefully that can be catered for.
            Thanks!

  • Just had to say that's a great little sytem for a good price.
needs an OS and a bit more storage but will get someone started with great performance.

I spent nearly as much building same thing with a 3060 for my son over birthday christmas, and we re-used a case / psu… he's loving its performance in games at 1440p.

  • Ooh, I’m tempted by the 4700Ti/7800 deal.

Bit of a meta query for OzBargain peeps - is there likely to be much of a market for a 9700F CPU and 1080 GPU? The main thing stopping me upgrading is that my system is still decent enough fir my needs and it’d be wasteful to just leave it gathering dust, but it’s easier to justify if I can readily sell it.

    • +1

Personally, I've seen plenty of those kind of systems on the marketplace, if priced well it will sell for sure :). Lots of demand as people are looking for good second hand rigs for their kids, friends or family!

  • @Nebula PC I'm looking for a PC to buy my dad to do some photo editing. This seems like a little overkill perhaps but a good price. I'm confused about the operating software though, do you have to buy Windows in addition to this? And also will this come with wifi? Ideally after an easy setup for him. TIA!

    • You must purchase a Windows license for us to install Windows. Base build doesn't come with Wi-Fi, just need to get a dongle which we have listed in the support section or a Wi-Fi motherboard :).

  • Could you please despatch the order I made on the 1st?

    • +1

Yes, we are working on it. Have lots in the backlog and each system is handbuilt. Despatch time is roughly 7-10 business days, we are on track brother!

  • Any pre-builts with full white component options?

  • Hello everyone,
I’m new to this field. Could anyone please tell me is it a good deal? I am doing some web development and play some light games

    • Yes, in short, it's the ultimate value 1080P gaming rig and light productivity work. For better productivity capability I'd recommend upgrading the RAM and CPU that your budget allows :).

  • Will this be suitable for Adobe and video editing?

    • Yes, for light work it won’t be an issue :).

  • Was wondering if you were ever going to bring back the RX7800XT PCs again. I almost bit the bullet in November but decided against it and am kicking myself now for not doing it.

    • Negative, we will not be stocking AMD GPUs due to a high RMA rate. I would strongly suggest you consider an NVIDIA GPU if you can :).

  • Hello Lawrence,

I see the price of this has increased. Is the deal no longer available?

EDIT: nevermind, I didn't understand that the coupon code was to be applied to the order. I thought it was related to the 2% cashback offer.

  • Just order one for the kids.

    • Cheers :D

  • Looking to get my kids their first pc. How will this go running Fortnite and could it also be used for photoshop and other image editing software?

    Thanks

    • Yes, it will be more than enough for 1080P gaming on Fortnite and basic editing. It is a great starter PC for gaming :).

  • Just grabbed one cheers - first upgrade in 6 years. I'm out of the loop but I need to buy a wifi adapter right? Will a PCIe port one work, or is USB more suitable.

    • +1

Really appreciate your support! Cheers! :D

PCIe would be best but it's covered by the GPU and it will cover one of the fans of GPU. Middleground would be Wi-Fi USB dongle or next best is Wi-Fi motherboard.

  • Hey nice deal, will you be doing any deals cheaper than this within the next 3 weeks?

    • This will be our lowest-priced deal with a GPU, the only way we can do any lower is if we use previous-generation GPUs or no GPU. I can work out a deal for you with a 5600G if you'd like!
