Morning OzBargain,

Our AM5 RTX 4070 Super deal has been great however we received a lot of requests for a more budget-friendly AM4 version! We've worked hard on this one to make it happen and OzBargain worthy. So here it is :).

Ripper rig today with the new RTX 4070 Super coming out filling the gap between the existing 4070 and 4070 Ti with a rough 20% performance bump from its predecessor. Impressively, the 4070 Super is almost as fast as the 4070 Ti and faster than the 7800XT - https://www.techspot.com/review/2791-nvidia-geforce-rtx-4070…. I believe we have the new king of 1440P gaming graphics cards.

  • Is super or ti faster Lawrence?

  • +6

You know what this tells me? The RRP 1119 of the 70 super has got plenty of room to move. No doubt that’s the same for the other supers to come

    • +4

It is a bit perplexing that 4070Ti's are similarly priced or in some cases cheaper. 4070 Super is ONLY competitive with the 4070 Ti at the moment if we are talking about the US market and USD.

      Assuming that:
      1. the RRP of a 4070 Super is $1199 which seems to be the case atm
      2. the current price of a 4070 Ti is around $1199 which also seems to be the case atm
      3. we use Techspot's Cost per Frame chart which OP posted and adjusted for AUD, the following is true.

4070 Super Cost per Frame: $11.4 per frame
4070 Ti Cost per Frame: $10.7 per frame

This ultimately disproves OP's statement that "the 4070 Super is very competitive compared to the 4070 Ti". Sure if it is sub $1000

All things aside this is a decent deal and I do recommend Nebula PC myself.

  • Great deal but should be 32gb ram

    • +3

The option is available on our site :D. We make it 16GB to keep the price of the system as low as possible! 16GBs is enough for general tasks and gaming :).

      • +2

        Will look into it.

The cost of the base model and upgraded parts sometimes will be a little more than expected, we purchase large bulk quantities of the base model parts to make a deal like this possible. For higher-end components we don't have that capability due to lower demand hence the price difference.

        • +5

Hi Lawrence I completely understand that. I mentioned the ram because it's still fairly cheap and if you bulk order the 32gb it wouldn't cost much more than the deal you put up.
If the difference would be for example $1478 vs $1448 because you received a good deal. I think it would make the deal quite attractive.
Obviously I got 9 negs against my comment so maybe your method is what they want.. who knows

I'm not in the market for a PC but I did build my own and knew what parts were cheap and beneficial.

      • +1

Have you ever heard of DIY PC building?

      • This is where the costs start to add up… most people just want a machine that works and is reliable. You only need to get into the VRMs etc when you are looking to boost it past the standard.

I agree there should be a standardised default build that covers gaming at a certain resolution, at what frame rates, at what fidelity level and without any DLSS, FSR or XeSS technologies enabled.

This should target expectations and if they choose to enable the frame boosting technologies it will be for more frames. This also keeps costs down as you are sticking with standard parts that are known to deliver the above standard.

Also if you want 32GB after the fact you can always purchase more. If it goes past a certain threshold some people might not afford it, but later on when they save a bit more they can add 32GB if they need it.

        • Hmmm I think vrm is a also safety net and not just boosting clock speeds.
          It provides reassurance with longevity.
Yes you have the bonus of an ability to overclock. But for 3xample I got a z790itx board and chose that as I wanted reassurance that this will last a good 5 years with better quality regulator modules.
          It's peace of mind.
Also adding more will potentially void warranty, as they won't be able to prove workmanship was a factor anymore

          • @maverickjohn: I haven't particular seen widespread issues with VRMs in recent times. Caps I have in the past.

If longevity is an issue find a motherboard that has heatsinks on the VRMs. Heat is what kills the VRM.

Adding memory will not void the warranty. They will need to prove that your added memory is the cause of the issue.

      • I disagree with you on minimum specs such as 32gb of ram being essential for a lower-mid-range deal.

I agree nebula and techfast upgrade prices can be over the top. I guess that's the business model of bulk-selling, although bpc (and enigma I think?) are often more reasonable. I guess the bottom line is if the market for higher-quality systems is smaller then the discounting probably can't be as much.

And, yes, wifi motherboards (or full ATX so a wifi card can be added comfortably) are a particular bugbear of mine also that have me questioning if I'll ever be able to buy one of these pre-builts. But maybe we're both a little outside the target market.

        • Honestly anything outside the stock build becomes more feasible as a build your own.. and it's always fun to do anyway. I had a blast and a small challenge building my itx .
BPC tend to have reasonable upgrade paths. It's just their QC is not as good as nebulas

          • +1

@maverickjohn: There you go… QC. Sometimes you gotta pay more for that. If they are putting the effort to make sure everything is working then that deserves to get paid.

I personally went DIY except I got the place I got the parts from to build it, wasn't much extra and I got the peace of mind that it was built correctly and I got myself time back from spending time to build it.

            • @jlogic: I didn't dismiss nebula. Not even once. And I completely agree with what you say. My proposal was only for them to try do a bulk order of 32gb ram and higher end mobo's

      • I don't agree that 32gb should be base but I'd love to see upgrade paths to 32gb and wifi card upgrade be reasonably priced as they'll be the most common upgrades. I'm aware I can go buy my own ram rip out the 16gb and resell it but I'd much rather an affordable upgrade path to be there.

        • +2

That was the second part of my sentence.

At a minimum the 32gb ram should be there or not a significant markup for an upgrade.

  • +1

Nice deal. I would probably wait to see where 4070 prices stabilise following the recent releases — the pattern with ada has been heavy drops in the first few weeks and I think we'll see that again with the ti so similarly priced and the ti super imminent.

Having said that, getting a decent system with 3090-level gpu performance for under $1500 seems like a win for value-focused gamers.

  • +2

Honestly dudes. If you are going to spend 1500$ on an am4 go 1600$ on the am5

    • The am5 system was posted earlier this week

  • +1

Thanks for the awesome deals that keeps coming out, agreements here or disagreements there, still happy that you guys are looking out for the Oz community and coming out with deals regardless. Thanks for all the hardwork, keep it up! Looking forward to more.

  • Will wait for a beastly 4080 super crosses fingers

  • If your budget allowed, i will spend $140-$180 more for 7500f+4070 super deals few days ago. 5600 is ok for budget system, but for $1k+ GPU, I will spend a bit more prevent GPU bottlenecked by cheap CPU. My 5600+6800 is perfectly matched, but there few games 1440p i wish i had better CPU. (6800 under 90% utility). 7500f around 5800x3d performance… which totally outperform 5600, and the price difference of 5600 and 5800x3d is $300-$400.

  • The important thing to remember is that the pimps at nebula smack the shit out of all the other computer stores accept no substitute Ozmacks.

    • The code

    • Depends what games and settings you are playing. I watched a youtude playing 4k fortnite with max settings and DLSS (4090), around 60fps. Less demanding games should be fine. 4K gaming with max graphic settings and decent fps is still very expansive atm, especially for newer AAA games.

  • Can Nebula staff confirm pls - Gaming PC: RTX 4070 SUPER 12GB, Ryzen 5 5600, MSI 500GB M.2, 16GB RAM, Gigabyte B550M K, 650W PSU $1448 + $50

Will I be able to play 4k games on a 85" tv with this pc?

If yes I will get it for sure.

    • Depends on the games, I use 6800xt on 4 K TV but do have to use upscaling depending on the game. You can also check a few reviews like from hardware unboxed and gamers Nexus for the 4k performance of the card. At 4K you will be predominantly gpu bound so the older cpu won't impact the performance as much.

    • Yes, it depends on the games you're playing. If you're after the best performance on 4K with the latest AAA titles on maximum settings then it wouldn't be the best system for your use case. However, if you're not planning to do that and your expectations are different then this rig will be just fine. It's more catered towards 1440P gaming on maximum settings but it doesn't mean you can't play any games at all on 4K with an 85" TV.

  • Thanks guys for your responses!

  • With the motherboard upgrade, does it come with a wifi card? Or is the USB still neccesary..

    • Is it also possible to use my own Windows 11 key as its cheaper

      • You are free to install Windows yourself and use your own license yes. Motherboard to B650M Mortar has onboard Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, USB Wi-Fi dongle would not be necessary.

        • if it was ordered without picking a windows 11 version will it come with any OS installed?

  • Sorry one more question Nebula before I place order -

Is there an option to select pick up and can windows be pre loaded for me?

    • Yes you can select pick up in checkout and to have Windows installed you just need to purchase a license with us.

      • Can an unregistered windows version be installed If I pick up the pc?

        • -1

We are unable to install Windows without a license purchased.

  • One final question pls Nebula,

Will there be a 4070ti Super package and if so how much would it roughly cost?

    This will help me decide

    Thank you

    • Yes, you will see on launch date.

      • Do you know what the pc price will be roughly?

        • You will see on the launch date, yes.
