    OLED. not bad.

  • Anyone know if this would work with a Nintendo Switch and a power bank or does it need AC power?

    • +2

Dont have this exact screen but no reason it can't work with a powerbank. Mine can. Using a power delivery powerbank though.

      • +2

You wouldn't even need a PD power bank. 5V/1A or 2A is enough to power it.

Either you have a VPN, browser plugin or on a work internet with policies that are blocking your location or you're using Starlink.

AliExpress has regional restrictions and the above doesn't play well.

      • My VPN is off. Works in Chrome, but not on Safari, even with iCloud Private Relay turned off. I'm in now, thanks for the help.

  • Very, very tempted… but I don't really know what I'd use it for. Coming at $192.35AUD for me with voucher

    • May need to use then bank cards with no international fees.

    • Good for on the plane in economy.

    • I use an Android tablet as a second screen for my laptop, helpful for coding, this could do that more efficiently.

  • Is the FHD resolution ok for the screen size or recommended to pay more for the 4k equivalent?

    • I think 4K would be overkill. Perhaps seek somewhere in between, 1440p for example

      • +3

4K on a 13.3" screen no thanks. Wayyyyy too small for text.

        • +1

that's why scaling is a thing

          • +2

@beatsntoons: For reals. 4k at 200% vs 1080p at 100% would be identically sized, just twice as sharp.

            …thats kinda the whole point.

          • @beatsntoons: That word has triggered a significant amount of hate in my previous posts about how it's not the same.

    • Absolutely fine I should think, it's a decent enough pixel density at this size. Any higher resolution would mean you're likely to be scaling UI elements up loads, too

    • FHD is good for this kind of screen size.

  • Can this be used in a dual monitor setup?
I.e. use my current 34 inch monitor, and have this to the side with tidal or spotify on it?

    • Yes it's the same as any other monitor.

  • @Clear , can i ask, how do you find these coupons ? How did you know to user choiceday8 ?

    • The coupon is from this deal and it's a Choice Product so that's why the coupon works. AliExpress tell me of most upcoming sales.

      • Ah thanks, so the layperson cant simply search for or find a coupon choiceday8, Ali express notified you ?

        • +4

Googling AliExpress coupons you're bound to find these and others. Plenty of new user codes too. It's just influencers are sent coupons a day or 2 early so that they can spread them around.

    • click on the store on AE and it showed up heaps of coupons. But some i dont understand even with the price reaches the eligibility of coupon, but it wont allow to use with the error message like not reaching the amount with tax, blah blah. Only this coupon works well.

      • Coupons are always ex tax and shipping. If you're setting AliExpress to AUD then you're definitely doing it wrong.

        • ah i see. USD. probably

          • +3

@ginger-gin: USD rates won't fluctuate while the AUD rate will.

You know this one is OLED right?

  • Does anyone know how this performs IRL? Especially connected via a USBC dock to Asus Rog Ally or even a Steam deck?

Interested in any latency, picture quality, sound etc observations.

Come on man it's 200 bux not 2000

  • Are there monitors like this that come with a good stylus so you can use them as a drawing pad or such?

    @Clear

This is a good price for a decent bunch of specifications for an OLED screen,
but do you know of any deals for a 15-inch or 16-inch OLED screen ?

I find 13.3-inch screen a bit small now, with ageing eyes,
and I have an old, external 15" Zenscreen (I picked up cheap 2nd-hand),
and the I think it's only LCD technology,
but the colours are starting to look washed and the refresh rates are beginning to hurt my eyes.

So, I'm thinking of replacing it.
