Literally questioned when the next one will be two days ago as I was making a big purchase sigh.

    • Same.
I just bought something big 2 days ago (a mobile phone),
and $20 cashback would have been nice :-)

      • +1

Same many. Managed to get $11 back overall with $6 from challenge, 4% from standard + westpac and rest giftcards. Would have preferred $40 though.

  • +1

In regards to EBay, can you do split payment of gift card and Westpac and still get Westpac bonus Cashback ?

    • +7

you sure can, no min $ required with westpac so long as you spend.. something

      • +1

a further question for ppl have done this - is it correct to say you will only get the westpac bonus on the amount you spent using westpac not the ones on the ebay gift card as they usually are not eligible for cash back?

  • +8

    0% as it won't track

    • +11

And then when you submit a missing cashback request it will get rejected because you didn’t accept cookies or some other excuse like that

      • +2

Hey mates, just a reminder that I'm happy to help out with any claims where I can as I can take a look at what's gone wrong or help to escalate this further with the merchant. If you're having consistent tracking issues, definitely let us know so that we can take a closer look at your account for you.

        • Off topic but do you have any indication when or if those free/profitable boost mobile sims are coming back ?

        • Please reiew AUBW367502184.
I just received a dispute transaction from your response saying this transaction relates to Playstation 5 and that Shopback didn't receive any money and therefore I can't receive my cashback.

My purchase has nothing to do with a Playstation 5.

This is the item and was not excepted on the T&Cs
          https://www.bigw.com.au/product/fujifilm-instax-mini-film-60…

          Please review and advise.

          Thanks
          OZC

          • @OZcheepsk8: Hey mate, have had a look at your inquiry, it looks like you might shared an incorrect order confirmation originally which is why our team member mentioned a Playstation product. Do get back to our team with the correct info and we can investigate this for you. Cheers!

          • @OZcheepsk8: Was it on sale? BigW requires $50 min spend.

      • +1

This prompted me to look at my rejections. I have to say I am very surprised with the large number of rejections and some that don't make sense - given that I always read the T&Cs. Now going with a fine tooth comb - sucks how some of these take so long to confirm and retrieve you totally forget about the transaction

        • Yep. So all that effort and 0%.
Now more effort for you to try and figure out what happened, weeks or months later.
          Nope.

    • +1

      Use the app.

Literally only ever had one problem, putting in the order so close to end of bonus cashback offer. EBay's tracking is based upon payment execution, not order placement. In my instance the payment went through a few minutes after the bonus expired. Contacted Shopback support and they honoured the bonus.

I honestly chalk a lot of the problems up to user error. If you're using a regular browser then that's your own fault.

      • +1

If you're using a regular browser then that's your own fault.

Sure, there would be plenty of user error, but saying that using a browser on the Internet is wrong? Come on.

        • -1

          It's an uncontrolled environment.

Cashback is built on referring traffic and attributing that traffic to a particular source.

Remove the variance by using the app and you remove a whole host of vectors that cause misattribution and failed cashback.

          • @iMagoo: Yes. Nobody is forcing the cashback companies to allow browser use.
I wouldn't bet on them taking that away though.

            • -1

@McFly: Point is that you can't and shouldn't bank on them being 100% if that's your chosen method.

  • +3

cmon peters of kensington.. restock these samsonites im looking at…

  • So does this work with your monthly ebay plus $5 off? Looks like it does not. "Any purchases made with the use of coupon or Voucher codes are not eligible for Cashback (unless otherwise stated) and will track at $0."

    • +2

it will not work, in theory.

  • Not relate to this post but great price for a PS 5 slim disc version if you are looking for one. $649 with code FEBHGT
    https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/256371584508?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mk…

  • Literally just bought something wiht a code thinking it wouldnt be better than 12%…

  • +3

This would be amazing for me, if westpac didn't shut down my account without saying a word. :)

  • Which coupon codes can be used?

    • +3

      None

  • +1

Can purchases using eBay Australia but a seller from China work? I need a few remote controls at $20 each cause it’s cheaper there.

    • +2

As long as you're buying through ebay.com.au
      and you're transacting in AU$
      the cashbacks would be tracking,
except you don't get cashback on GST.

      • +2

Pretty sure the currency doesn't matter as long as the purchase was on eBay Australia. Have purchased items that were listed in USD previously due to being international sellers and it worked fine

        • That's good then.

eBay.AU does shows results "outside of local sellers",
and although the prices are converted to AU$ (from foreign currency),
those sellers have 'Shipping to Australia / Worldwide',
so that's why they show up on eBay.AU,
but I just play it safe and buy local.

  • Are either of these promos capped per transaction or are they capped per account?

    • Usually per transaction

    • +3

Can confirm for this one the caps are per transaction, we'll stipulate if the cap is per user.

  • Do you get cashback on postage ?

    • No

  • Has this already started or starts at 12PM on 05 Feb?
Usually says 'Later today' if it hasn't started yet so just making sure.

    • +1

Floating banner on the website says,
      12pm - 6pm AEDT

    • +1

      eBay: 10% Cashback (12-6pm, Cap $20) + [Westpac] 10% Bonus Cashback (All Day, Cap $20) @ ShopBack

  • Waiting for minimum 25% again ;)

  • +3

always template reply from SB as to why the casback was not tracked. one too many failures in tracking so Im passing

    • -1

Sorry to hear this mate, I'm always happy to take a look to see if there's anything I can do to help when racking fails so do reach out if you need.

    • Just. Use. The. App.

Literally never failed me, over $2k of cashback earnt on my account.

  • The last 10% + 10% ($25 + 20 cap) tracked for me (Shopback also had a working code), so I’ll give it a shot today.

    • so if we add and pay with westpac card it will give total of 40% cashback (ie $40 today)?

also can we use the ebay discount promo code on this page or will be invalid?

      https://pages.ebay.com.au/buyer_coupons/2024/febsave/

      • I believe maximum discount is 20% on $200. ($40).

Looks like you can not use any ebay coupon code with this offer to track

        • so if we only use shopback without westpac payment
we can only get $20 max cashback ?

          • @pinkybrain:

            eBay: 10% Cashback (12-6pm, Cap $20) + [Westpac] 10% Bonus Cashback (All Day, Cap $20) @ ShopBack

            • -1

@tonester: yeah i saw that already

just wanted to confirm that we can get total of $40 back if using a westpac card.

  • -1

    Does it stack with coupon?

    • +1

      Are you serious?

      • Am I joke to you? 😂

  • what's everyone buying?

    • Sense.

  • Still following up on the Ebay plus offer which tracked initially and then confirmed with $0. Standard response that the account was used for a cashback earlier, which isnt true as was confirmed with Ebay chat. Will pass this one too… until Shopback come back clean

  • Ensure that you DO NOT add products to your eBay wishlist and purchase/bid over 24 hours later, as Cashback may not be awarded

Take out of wishlist then purchase ?

From previous deals query inflated price compared to wishlist

  • So can you use ebay gift cards?

    • Cashback is valid when gift cards are used as a payment method

      • But I think from memory, that cash back is calculated after gift cards are used.

        • i can't say i've had that experience, personally

        • No Cashback is on the full amount of purchase, gift cards use doesn't impact Cashback amount

  • Paid via PayPal but using Westpac credit card (stored in PayPal), is that eligible for the [Westpac] 10% Bonus Cashback ?
Do we need to link the Westpac credit card in ShopBack app?

    • +1

      no, yes :(

    • I think as long as the last 4 digits are the same as what is added in SB, it'll track successfully. It's best to add it in SB.

      • you need to pay with westpac rather than with paypal (with westpac linked card in paypal)

so this means no paypal buyer protection

        • Ah yes, my mistake! Yeah - needs to be via the actual credit card.

        • Thanks, nah I prefer the PayPal buyer protection over the $20

  • Are store offers that add a discount to the order eligible for cashback (ie. Buy 1, get 1 at x% off)?

    • +2

from memory, any code that the user doesn't have to input manually should be eligible.

      • +1

^this. So yes to your qn @vt

  • Will the cashback track if I purchase through ‘make offer’

    • +1

No - its excluded from Shopback cashback

      • If you purchase as a Buy It Now though but Make Offer available on Item, do you know if still tracks?

        • +1

If you can add to cart its all good.

          • @Sheng: Ah, shoot, forgot to buy in the end…I need to set myself timers, LoL

  • +1

finally pulled the trigger on a $2.93 usb microsd card reader. cha ching.

  • No coupon codes allowed i assume?

Edit - voucher to be exact

  • No voucher/coupon codes are eligible this time around.

    • Thanks mate

  • So, Ebay secretly pays out 10% for those who never/don't have a discount code? Wondering if these sellers have the agreement upfront.

  • of course the item I wanted to buy is now not showing as available, even though the company selling it still has it available on their website……..

    • Technically sellers are not allowed to "share" stock between sites. i.e. what they list on ebay must be available. Vinomofo quickly got a poor eBay rating on launch for not doing this, since they cancelled eBay orders to fulfil website orders instead (source: experience). They are currently a dismal 54.2%. Your seller needs to shift stock from website to eBay to keep you happy!

  • +1

Cheers OP, got my 230GB Boost sim sorted. About $170 after cashback + gift card cashback

    • don't cheer so quick

from what other's have the posted, the purchase might not have tracked

      • I almost face no problems with tracking. Just the values changing sometimes for some reason but it self fixes at issue.

      • -1

Timeline says up to 7 days to track. I'm not concerned, generally sound if you do it through the app and follow some simple guidelines (don't use coupons, don't have you purchase already in a cart/wish list, don't click on adverts etc.)

        • +1

yeah if you get it tracked then great

just that others have mention it didn't tracked..
maybe they did something wrong or maybe they didn't and it just didn't tracked..

just don't celebrate too soon before you got confirmation.

          • @pinkybrain: It tracked. I don't understand the negative sentiment, I never have a problem with it.

  • For future reference, can someone confirm if Westpac bonus would still track if the eBay transaction is $0 (eg using voucher code etc.)

    • The initial ebay transaction itself would need to be eligible so that subsequently the Westpac portion also approved
