That's what I was going to say. The 7a needs to be around 350 to be considered a deal.
bit rough bruv
Own this and I would pass on this price tbh.
The camera on this is top notch
This is a great phone. I had it for several months before I replaced it with the Pixel 8 Pro. However, if you can get the Pixel 7 at a discount get that instead. What drove me away from this phone was the battery life. I was having to plug it in by 4-5pm everyday. Worst battery life on a Pixel I have seen and I've owned a number of pixel phones.
Yup battery life is shocking.
To provide some context: could never push this phone beyond 2 to 2.5 hours of screen on time. I turned off background data, I locked it to 4G only. I even turned off the 90 hertz and that only netted 3 hours of SOT. I don't know how a device so close to the flagship 7 could perform like this with battery life? I understand the regular 7 isn't incredible for battery but this is just odd? My pixel 8 pro is in 120 Hertz mode with 5G enabled and I rarely think about battery life these days. I know it's not on par with some of the battery champs but the 7A just couldn't cut it. Throw in some pictures and some google maps and I'd be plugging it in 2-3 times a day.
I largely ignored all the issues people mention, thinking they just got dud phones or are tech Luddites, but there really are a lot of issues with this phone, and I don't believe it was worth the $400 I paid.
My biggest issue is phone reception, I completely drop from my mobile network in locations where my iphone 11, V30+, and Pixel 2 XL worked fine.
I still have the V30+ so might just use that, and get out while I'm ahead, since I can still sell for $400 to a reseller.
I'm looking out for deals again, can't even trade up to a Galaxy S24 confidentiality due to them using Exynos, hoping for a refreshed iPhone SE or something 'cheap' that just works.
$647 at Officeworks. https://www.officeworks.com.au/shop/officeworks/p/google-pix…
Isn't this normal pricing at this point?
Exactly, I don't see a bargain here at JB.
I checked Officeworks a few days ago and the price was $647.
Not intriguing deal at all.
As Pixel 7 was $499 recently, if this was $100 cheaper at $549 and not on a run-out, it'd be a good deal.
Specs for 7a and 7 are similar, same processor and memory.
7a has slightly better camera specs, 7 has Gorilla glass.CNET says "Pixel 7A Review: Basically Google's Pixel 7 for $100 Less"

Simply a change of policy at Google, that's all
Being at the beach lately and realise the Pixel 7 is a POS. I can't see anything in the sun.
Going to look at a phone with high brightness nits in the future.
I got a Pixel 7 from them for about $460 a couple of weeks ago.
