  • I last bought a casio and an Q&Q from Monster Trading located in Kingsgrove NSW

  • Where did you get that these aren't fugu.
They are citizen automatic pro diver watches.
I thought that was the criteria for fugu?

    • It looks like a cheaper version of this:
      https://starbuy.com.au/citizen-fugu-mens-watch-ny0135-80e/

Similar to the seiko divers, Fugu is only a nickname anyway.

      • That's right it's a nickname given to the divers with the above criteria

        • +1

Fugu have the fugu on the back of the case.

          • +2

@stuffandthat: So I leaned today from an awesome person that fugu has a puffer fish logo (Fugu) on back and square instead of circle indices around the dial.

            • @maverickjohn: Ah that's right.
the other ones are very similar but models below don't have sapphire, and the other similar models have titanium but no sapphire.

Anyway all basically the same, same movement no? The puffer fish is cute, could care less about pics on casebacks.

              • @G-rig: I believe citizen is in the process of changing from 8203 to 8204 on the Fugus. There’s been reports of people getting 8204 in their fugus, but the last batch Deepak had were 8203s

                • @ASR-Briggs: Sounds good, is the newer one a hacking movement?
They should put a 9000 in the more expensive models, if Fugus are special :)

waiting on a ny0100-50m, just checked and it's Calibre 8204 on the Citizen site. No sapphire but titanium (could always upgrade it one day, prob fine though and will just be a beater if i keep it (couldn't get a refund so had to get something, but for $400 they are quite good value).

                  • @G-rig: Yeah, that watch has popped up in a few deals on here recently. And yes, the 8204 has hacking. I’m holding out for a Pepsi with the 8204.

                    • @ASR-Briggs: cool you'd expect hand winding and hacking these days!

                • @ASR-Briggs: photo of case back for PVD Bracelet is 8204

    This isn't a Tuna either.

    • +1

      Or sumo

      • +1

        Or a Turtle.

        • +2

          or a Samurai

  • check out this big A US special edition gold PVD case orange bezel brown dial 401.76$ only 4 left out of stock everywhere

This is not a US special edition, it is available here. While it might have gone from online I have seen it in numerous jewellers stores (eg: A&C) for sub-$300.

Be wary of the renders; I was thinking about getting it myself but when I tried it on in person the colours really didn't fit my skin tone. It isn't gold PVD, it is a bronze-ish colour (coating, not a bronze case).

  • i have Pepsi Turtle, Pepsi Samurai, Pepsi PADI all from StarBuy

  • I have Black Dial /Wine Bezel, All Blue / Gold plated Bezel Fugu from DutyFreeIsland and All Green Fugu from StarBuy

    I Have Gold Plated Black Bezel All Lume and Coke Regular Citizen Promaster (the all lume has 3 seahorses on case back}

  • i started collecting when those who could not afford proper Divers Watches were buying SeaUrchins for $95 a piece

I got all blue Sea Urchin with white polka dots. There were all black all blue Pepsi and Coke Sea Urchins

    • Seiko Sea Urchins could not compete against Orient Mako/Ray 2-crowns so were discontinued. Anyone has the 38mm Citizen with rubber straps as hard as bad beef jerky, i have the Pepsi and all black looking to get a coke to complete the set. 99$ for Pepsi 105$ all black 120$ coke free postage post Financial Crisis 2008

  • the number of Orients i have = Seikos + Citizens. Too many Orients. only about 10 orients divers, the rest are orients homages to other classic shapes/styles

  • As Noted in Description the blue Rubber is marked Japan not Japan MOVT (photo of case back)

surely that is made in Japan

note also the all lume is same series NY0040- so more than likely made in Japan

Anything after NY0040 could (not certain) be Japan MOVT only
