Alright.

Here's this VIVO Premium Aluminum Full Motion Single Monitor Desk Mount – basically just a fancy arm for your screen. According to Camel3, it's at its cheapest price in years

They're banging on about premium aluminum construction – it's not a spaceship; it's a desk mount. I just want it to hold my monitor, not withstand a meteor shower. And it supports a monitor weighing up to 17.6 lbs – my monitor's not on a weightlifting regimen. I just want it to sit there without straining itself.

Fully adjustable – like it's training for the Olympics. -90° to +90° tilt, 180° swivel, 180° rotation – is my monitor breakdancing? I just want it to stay put, not join a circus act. And the maximum screen height is 24.4" – my screen's not climbing Mount Everest; it's sitting on my desk.

Mounting options – they're making it sound like a NASA launch. Sturdy desk clamp and grommet mount – it's a monitor arm, not a moon landing. I just want it attached without needing a construction permit. And it fits desktops ranging from 0.39” to 2” – they're acting like it's designed for the Great Wall of China. I just want my desk, not an engineering project.

Compatibility – it fits most 17” to 32” monitors – because apparently, monitors are like shoes now. And it has USB ports on the base – it's not a charging station; it's a monitor arm. I just want to watch videos, not plug in my entire life.

In summary, if you're in the market for a monitor arm that thinks it's auditioning for a circus performance, this VIVO thing might be your screen's new personal trainer. As for me, I just want a mount that holds my monitor without thinking it's in a Marvel movie. Keep it simple, VIVO.

Told ya, @Qnox.

This is far too expensive Karl.
I have a dual arm that I paid like $60 for, but I am using them to hold music gear.

EDIT, since it can hold up to 32 inch, that's not a bad deal.

      It's the size that counts.

      • That's what she said? My reply, buh buh buh baby, the motion of the ocean.

    • May i ask which one did you get? Cheers

        Mine is similar to this.

I cannot find mine, but this should give you an indication.

  • Sorry to ask - What kind of mount could I use for a 34 inch ultrawide?

    • I think this can be a good one to consider at the below $80 price range: https://www.amazon.com.au/HEYMIX-Computer-Ultrawide-6-6-33Lb…

Earlier last year, I brought what appears to be an identical product from the amazon link following: https://www.amazon.com.au/gp/product/B0BFX49ZKT, and the company itself https://heymix.com.au/products/heymix-heavy-duty-monitor-arm…

At those two links above, in one of the product images, there is a list of some supported monitor models and curvatures. Hopefully, it can help your search.

    • Don't risk a monitor with one of these, get a pedestal, the reason is, if you accidentally swing it and it hits something, I have had to install my dual swing arm under my desk so it does not swing out and hit my 65 inch panels.
Again these are not monitor stands for me so it doesn't matter that they are done like this.

  • I have been using a North Bayou monitor stand since early covid. $89 delivered. Hasn't failed me yet. This specific model I believe has been superseded by newer/cheaper versions.

I've got a Dell 32" curved on it (not ultrawide).
