        Albo - Anthony Albanese

        Scomo - Scott Morrison

    • Would have thought you and your buddy Dan be gone fishing now that he stepped down.

      • now that he stepped down.

        I haven't…

        Need a good watch though…

  • *Monster

Didn't think the genuine ones are that much, but not into that look at all.

  • Folded links…. ๐Ÿ˜ฌ It's cute but not at this price, not when you can get another homage (SD1970) with better specs, bracelet etc. for much less.

    • links or post that watch please

      • +1

Just do a search on OzB & you will find this link to old posts.

        Via AliExpress.
Has a Seiko movement internally, an exceptional homage/clomage of the Willard Seiko made famous by Martin Sheen in Apocalypse Now (often gets posted on OzBargain, albeit that had a black dial and Seiko have reissued the 'Willard' for several $$ more in recent years).

This is the most recent (expired) deal I could find on OzBargain for the Steeldive Model: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/811202

(beat me to it WN haha…)

    • Unless the watch is vintage, no folded links are acceptable.

    is this ok then 200m

buy direct from Alba Au better than SD1970

    • Associated? ๐Ÿ˜ƒ๐Ÿ˜œ
It's not comparable, irrespective of buying from a local seller.
There are local distributor's or authorised resellers of the Steeldive who are still cheaper, and it's specs (Sapphire Crystal etc.) are still superior, albeit that's only if you're comparing.
I like Alba and if you're a huge fan of the Alba range or prefer to buy local that's fine, but the comparison is moot, the SD1970 is a better $:quality watch.

You can get monster style watches with better specs on Aliexpress. Steeldive do a homage but it's a bit too expensive compared to others.

For example this orange dial Tandorio looks good with sapphire & NH36A… US$57.51 + GST delivered.

      Chicken watch ๐Ÿ˜„

      • Yeah I would get the sterile dial. Blue sterile dial looks good too.

        • As in Tandoori ha

When Seiko make a budget version of their already poor movement… You know it can't be good.
They don't advertise the movement from research it seems it uses a y676 movement which is based of the archaic 7s26 movement
    Avoid at all costs

    • +1

I wouldn't say the 7s26 is a poor movement - it's a workhorse and has done just fine in my SKX over the years and plenty of Seiko 5s. It just doesn't have hacking and has been superseded. The NHXX movements use similar architecture. That being said - I wouldn't buy one now, or if I did, I would swap out the movement if I intended to keep it.

      • +1

Yeah 4r35 (or NH35 in non-Seiko watches) is better.

      • +2

It is a very old movement which has been superceded.
It's really not worth it when you can get the steel dive or newer seikos with the 4r series for cheaper or slightly more respectively.
I know they are workhorses. But you are better off with a good solar at this price point.

        • Not going to disagree with you there. I have have numerous Seikos and owned many more from 6R, 4R, 7S to solar. I find all them accurate. I consider most of the Chinese movements to be poor movements or shit-tier movements.

          • @ilikeit: I've both NH35 and Seagul ST2103. Seagul movement is very smooth and very accurate.

  • I got excited there for a second.
