The 60" TV caught my eye…

While searching for reviews I found it slightly cheaper at Good Guys and Harvey Norman (for those people who live close to these stores for pickup):

    http://www.thegoodguys.com.au/buyonline/LG_Electronics_60%22…
    $1,067

    http://www.harveynorman.com.au/lg-pa6500-60-full-high-defini…
    $1,068

In other words, regular price, no deal.

      • Mmmm no its definitely a hot deal.. I could not find ANY brand of 60" TV for anywhere near to this low price.. including the Chinese cheapies Hisense, Kogan, Soniq, Palsonic etc.

LG is the second largest TV manufacturer in the World and has 1300 phone support 12 hours a day 7 days a week. I will need to check the back of one, but Id guess its made in Korea.

Id say its a limited time special directly from LG Australia, or Good Guys (dunno about HN) have deliberately lowered their price against Bing Lee's special which ends tomorrow so they dont get hit with their "beat it by 5%" price thing.

and the post you just replied to just showed the exact same tv cheaper at two places…

        • Don't forget the free postage buddy.

      • Better price in HN and Good guys

Only for those people who live close enough to a store (that has the model in stock) to justify picking up.

The free delivery makes the Bing Lee price by far the cheapest delivered to door.

I honestly had no idea tv's of this size were this cheap so +1 from me.

If you want to buy a 65" TV, it may be best to wait for 4K TVs - yup 4X FHD TVs!

Get real mate, tv networks don't broadcast a lot of hi def stuff now because it costs too much to produce - do you think that's going to change in the future? Channel 9 has just managed to save themselves from financial ruin - http://www.heraldsun.com.au/news/national/can-david-gyngell-… - they won't be investing in 4K cameras any time soon. Save your money.

      • Maybe he is a multi millionaire. So $ doesn't matter when it is a real 4k tv.

      • Eh, they've sold millions of 3D TVs despite the massive lack of good 3D content, and the huge expense of creating it

I think I can live with the screens I've got until a substantial upgrade like 4k comes along

    • Already available from LG - 84" 4K TV

      I wouldn't call $20,000 for a TV a bargain tho…

50PM6700 is a better TV than 50PA6500 for $100 more

  • Just bought the LG 60" plasma for $1,031 from Good Guys - so $48 lower than the BL deal.

I didn't need to haggle for the lower price - they just said they could do it for $1031 when I said Id seen several companies advertising it "around $1060"

LG offer a standard 1 year warranty - paying for it on my BOQ credit card gives me an extra 1 year warranty via the credit card company.

Normally when buying a TV Id use my GE 28 Degrees credit card so if the price drops more than $10 within the following 6 months (which almost always happens with TVs) I can claim back the difference, but this price is already so low compared to every other brand in this size, so the extra 1 year warranty from my other card was more beneficial.
