With the AliExpress summer sale and competition heating up, the BE7000 is available at a lower price.

I have been using the AX6000 for the past couple of years, which has worked great with range and speed. I am using it with a 1000/1000 plan with a 4k stream Plex over wifi, both working strong.

US$127.08 or ~A$191.41 with current Mastercard rate

Now to convince myself that I don't need it.

  • Hey op, with your current router, aside from it looking like a sci-fi spaceship with the amount of antenna's, do you know if these are all for show or do they really help with double-brick wall houses etc? I find that in our current place we live in, using a Temu 3 pack mesh, it only helps out slightly, so wondering if these type of routers would significantly help.

I live in an apartment building with metal studs and mesh, we don't get any phone network but this has pushed through really well.

You can't compare it to a mesh but you could either buy 2 of these or 2 of AX6000.

And yes, external antennas always help!

I'd go with 2x AX6000 imo. Put them in a RAID and get a total of AX12000

        • yeah, nah

        • I don't think that's how networking maths work

  • No 6ghz hardware unfortunately

There is, it's already been discussed in the previous post.

Built on the Qualcomm Networking Pro 820 platform
      Quad-core A73 1.5GHz processor with up to 28800 DMIPS
      4 x 2.5G ports and 1 USB 3.0 port.
Supports quad-band and 8-way data stream connections
      A peak transmission bandwidth of 13.7 GB/s is supported, along with Wi-Fi 7, Wi-Fi 6E, Wi-Fi 6, Wi-Fi 5, Wi-Fi 4, and 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz frequencies.

      • The previous post just says there's been an update that releases support for WIFI7 but WIFI7 in China doesn't mean the same thing as having 6ghz support. The new firmware just enables MLO for the 5ghz bands

        • But Qualcomm6 Networking Pro 820 supports 6ghz? I guess time will tell, there arent enough reviews or info available. This has free return so will wait for delivery

          • @abs898: Just because the CPU supports 6ghz isn't enough. You need the radios and other hardware to be able to transmit at that frequency too

            • @lolcoaster: I made the same comment on the previous deal, can't seem to see frequencies above 5.8 which is needed. But also because there are no clearer specs listed online, I decided to buy it and check when it gets delivered.

Since it comes with 15 days no questions asked return, might do that.

              • @abs898: ……..15 days no questions asked return
                what, to Aliexpress?

@Borg: Yes, choice items get a better return policy. I have returned a few items.

"According to the rules, the product has 15 days no reason to return policy, if you don't like the product, please tell us the reason, you can return it and get a full refund. We guarantee satisfactory service for honest and reasonable buyers."

              • @abs898: Do you have to pay return postage?

            • +1

@lolcoaster: @lolcoaster This is the closest I could find on the official community https://c.mi.com/bd/post/153497 confirming it has 6Ghz but they might just be talking about the board

  • Thanks, just got one, moved into new place and old Telstra Gen 2 Modem did not cut it. Came to A$185.98 with current exchange rate on Macquarie Mastercard.
