offering that much data will mean they'll cap your speeds.

    • It is a postpaid service.

        • It has always been a postpaid service. Maybe some comments misled you.

Kogan Mobile has transitioned to this mode as well, which can collect fund on time and not offer grace period like Boost Mobile's 6 months active with no recharge.

that was the biggest complaint on OzB previously, it's like Hotel California, you can port out anytime you like, but you can never leave (their billing system).

        • +1

          Lol

        • Why would you even want to leave Hotel California?

          • @TEER3X: Don got sick of me and actually asked me to leave.

Be careful. They sting you with a credit check.

    • wow that's crazy. good info.

    • +1

all post paid nbn and phone plans do

      • Also interesting. I didn’t realise this. I guess i remember checking the credit rating box at some stage yonks ago.

        • yeah, its roughly 5 points worth of hit.

          • @backupper1: There’s no box to say “authorise credit check” which is what I found annoying. It is within the T&C’s. Belong and More are postpaid services which don’t perform credit check.

            • @sydhunter: do have a look at your credit scores via Experian and Illion, if it was done earlier then they won't repeat, but for the first time they will do.

    Cheap service… But cheap service!
Also, literally the moment I signed up to them, I started getting bombarded with fake texts and calls.

    • this is a red flag - aus telcos are required to have extremely stringent scam-filtering processes nowadays.

      • +1

really, I wake up every morning, turn on my phone and I have 3-5 scam txt on Telstra, turn off airplane mode, Google them quarantines them.

        • -5

wow, sucks to be on android i guess. no such issues with Telstra and iOS. I get one scam sms every 2-3 weeks, and one or two scam calls a month.

          • +3

@eggboi: nothing to do with the OS. Nothing to do with Telstra. Basic logic would tell you that.

When I turn my phone on, the messages come thru, then I enable data (wifi/mobile) then Android does it's thing, it moves them to spam. if I left my phone on & allowed data, they'd be sent to the spam folder without me noticing….as is evident when I check my spam SMS folder and I see lots of others from the previous day.

            • @M00Cow: Actually yeah more a symptom of turning your phone off overnight.

          • +1

@eggboi: That’s also same for iOS
Scam calls is not unique to Android
I have an iPhone I always get scam calls
I think it depends on how or who you passed on your personal info

      • where did you get the

aus telcos are required to have extremely stringent scam-filtering processes nowadays.

from? I know they've got to stop selling their FROM <text> instead of FROM <number> to unverified users, which is why most scam messages come from random mobile numbers these days

    • Same experience here scam call spiked

  • Sounds like a good deal, is it 5G

    • nope

I have always had good service from Circles…ported out a few months ago to try and Telstra service and wasn't getting the speeds that I needed so ported back in and had no troubles what so ever…

    From Ex Circle life customer

    • Well i guess they did tell you it was a closed circle! Weirdest company name too. Sounds like chinglish inspired by the Lion King. Doesn’t scream “great customer service”

    • Never had an issue on my account (that I remember), but I do recall the kid's accounts getting billed for making calls to various other parts of the world!

  • +1

Will this work for mobile wifi modem? Any limit cap?

  • Why no 5G

  • What does speed cap at? I currently use my amaysim in my modem, no nbn for me

  • Has any existing customers had success getting this applied to their account?
