      i'm over over it

    • +1

      Roger that, over

  • Out of stock everywhere near me

    • Probably because it's been this price since November.

    • +4

Plenty of options around me, don't neg a deal because you missed it. Bit of a dick move

    • You can get it delivered I think.

      • +1

        yep, $10 for me

    • -1

At 1 hr drive on the Warrego Highway from Bris CBD, you can go to Plainlands Bunnings - 6 in stock at the moment.
(If you were willing to check 20 stores, you were probably going to have to travel up to almost 1 hour anyway).
It looks like Rocklea may have some too (currently 5) and Oxenford (2 = 1 if they have one on display) - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/comment/14774543/redir

      • Oxenford has 1 but it is a return missing the handle. (Says on the return receipt stuck to the box)

    • +2

Wow, i checked 14 stores around me and no stock and i get negged for letting people know. And delivery was not an option.

      • I thought it was 20? anyway - see above, you can get it

        • Thanks for the heads up. I will give them a call

      • Shallow ppl, envious of yr username

      • It's because you negged the deal, you coulda just said there's no stock near you and others will try help like they have.

        Or you could try postage.

Save the neg for shit deals.

        • For many people "could try postage" is a bunnings fail. They simply won't deliver to many areas… nothing about postage charges.

Strange how One Pass works for various organisations….but bunnings refuse to honour one pass for me, regardless of size or value of the purchase.

I'm about 200 road kilometres from adelaide…. bunnings is the only retailer that won't deliver to me. Supercheap, Repco, Kmart, Autobarn, etc etc endlessly will….but not bunnings.

In SA 19 bunnings stores don't have this item….and 2 do.

They won't even deliver to port wakefield… 100K up the main highway north of adelaide.

I came to the ad curious about the email headline, which included "over $800 of quality dewalt tools". That's not/ no longer on the ozbargain site header… but many would say dewalt quality tools aint all similar to the quality tools that dewalt used to sell. Just like many other major lines, they have their domestic quality crap, and trade quality at a very different price.

Anyway…. I disagree with your "dick move" assessment of someone else's post…. I agree with them.

          • @rooster7777: Being remote is that person's problem, not the person who posted the deal and doesn't warrant a neg either.

You're welcome to disagree but the community doesn't as his comment is now so downvoted it's collapsed/hidden.

Dewalt are not bad quality either, overall a solid brand. I was playing with this kit an hour ago and was very impressed.

            • @diggityfish: Thanks… reading your post reminds me of things to be grateful for… that as you dwell some distance from me in a capital city, I'm most unlikely to be physically subjected to your vapid personality.

33% of australia's population are "remote" in your eyes. Fortunately the number of commercial enterprises that refuse to carry out commerce with the "remote" are incredibly low. Bunnings are the only one I can think of offhand that refuse my business, and the business of lots of other regional dwellers, in many cases less than 100 km away.

Now you may have such confidence in your own judgement that you are entitled to make decrees to override any simple lay person's judgement… but your tunnel vision is your problem, not mine.

I see from your post history you embrace caustic words… but I'll be happy you stay on your own private "acid trip" and keep your "dick moves" to yourself while you look in the mirror and practice your "academy award acceptance speech's" (sic) … you know, the mirror that's probably made by "Chinese owned scum, do not give them your money".

  • What's the price of this kit usually ?

  • Thanks OP, managed to grab one at Manly West store in Brisbane. Great timing as my line trimmer broke two days ago.

  • FWIW $331.55 with Powerpass, and currently showing as available near me in Oakleigh and Mentone in Vic.

    • +1

Powerpass drops warranty to commercial levels IIRC. 12 months? Not worth it if so

  • I didn't know that Dewalt has garden tools.
Is it worth moving from Ryobi to Dewalt?
    Thanks

    • +1

hard to tell if you don't compare the tools physically.

    • At 18v i'm not sure they'll be better than my 36v Ryobi garden tools.

      • are your 36v Ryobi tools okay? I just bought 36v brushless straight shaft for like $429 and was wondering as it is unopened whether to order this and return it ?

        • +1

If you have their money to spend for 36V tools stick with them. As some products may offer better performance over 18v but will add a bit of heft. If not I would say this combo is real value for money. But the included batteries are a joke.

        • +1

I haven't regretted any of my 36v purchases

        • +1

I have a Ryobi 36v and it'd been going strong over the years… Around 6 and counting. A bit sceptical with 18v performance dewalt or not

      • I currently have 18v brushed trimmers only.
Don't want to switch to 36V, as that's a bigger move than switching to another 18v ecosystem.

BTW, I could see Dewalt has batteries which could be switched between 18v amd 54v, which made me wonder why Ryobi doesn't make that option.

Bought this for for $379 in October at it's normal price

    • +2

thats more like it….lot less hype in your description

    • +5

This right here. A quick bit of Googling confirms the $800 is just marketing nonsense.

    • Bought it for this price in November and have seen it at Bunnings at this price ever since. Still a good deal, though.

  • +1

    Good package on Dewalt.

I bought the DeWalt straight line trimmer kit (with 5Ah battery and charger) few years for $250, so an extra $100 for the blower and extra battery is a good deal.

Line trimmer and battery going strong after 3+ years of domestic use.

  • +1

Its a normal price but a good price

  • Can a 18V 3AH battery really help blow hard enough?

PS: to move leaves off the lawn.

    • Absolutely, the ah isn’t how powerful it is but how long it will run. I have this and the 3ah is great

      • Agree, but usually more AH means more current, but again that can depend on battery chemistry too.

  • This is a great deal, it used to be 499.

  • upgrade to the 5Ah batteries.. 3 Ah wont be enough to last

    Plenty cheap on facebook marketplace

  • Is it worth it to go for this rather than a cheap Ryobi (https://www.bunnings.com.au/ryobi-18v-one-25cm-line-trimmer-… a small yard?

    • Which one will you kick yourself for the outlay ,most, when it dies??
      Compare warranties
Search the place of manufacture, and whether internal components are real world better, and why.

  • is this better compared to Ryobi, please advise

    • "is this better LOUDER compared to Ryobi, please advise"

      • U meant to say these are much noisier?

        • Well pedantically, perhaps, but maybe, will it piss the neighbours off as much?

  • $800 my ass, but it's a deal (by maybe $100 I guesstimate).

  • Looks decent, but I'm already head long in the Ryobi one+ range

  • I wouldn't buy it for the trimmer, looks like it has that ultra cheap way of having the electric motor in the front design that will tire your wrist and arms. Get the proper type electric trimmer that are shaft driven with both the motor and battery at the back. Trust me, I have had it all. If your budget is tight, Aldi usually have these shaft driven electric trimmers on sale for $130, so much better balanced and easier on your wrist and back. Batteries would cost another $100 but if you are patient, usually goes on sale for less than $50. I am in the Dewalt eco system for tools but shaft driven Dewalt trimmers are so expensive.

    • Isn't it a universal head, and you can get an attachment for trimmers and edgers?

      The blower here seems to do 400cfm @ 144kph rather than 600cfm @ 200kph.
