      That's also from China/Hong Kong.

I prefer the externally powered one i bought recently for $29. There is probably cheaper available but i liked the look of it. I needed it for my brill, new android ug802 device.

  • safe to say that the externally powered ones are faster compared to the usb powered ones?

    • They aren't any faster. In addition to a hub function, they also provide power for devices that need it eg. external hard disks.

With other stuff also connected to my previous usb powered hub, my external hard drive continually beeped, it didn't sound good. With the externally powered one, there is no beeping. The one i got has a 2amp power pack which is enough for max draw on each port.

  • There appears to be a hole for on the unit for a power plug?

Does this mean this unit can be powered, if one were to find a
    suitable power pack?

  • Yeah it's not clear whether this comes with the power adaptor or not. Kinda dodgey!
