[Back Order] TCL 85" C845 Mini-LED $2698 & Free Delivery @ Appliances Online

180

On backorder until February 1 2024

Quality TV from most accounts.

Cheapest price at the moment I believe, plus free delivery which reduces a lot of risk for such a big panel.

I talked appliances online down to $2600 on the phone, after getting TGG to price beat (with no stock). Chat would only match to $2668.

As far as mini-LED TVs go, I believe this will similar to the Hisense U7KAU at $3495, if maybe not quite as good, and then well below the Sony X95K which is $4495, soon to be superceded by the X95L

It'd be way better than the Hisense mini led. Hisense gimp their Australian models with IPS panels instead of VA, so contrast will be much worst than the TCL.

    • Very good to know, cheers

    • So I'm looking at either the u8kau 75" or this 85" one. Are you saying this one is the better value for $2500ish?

      • Some would argue the TCL is as good or better than the u8, in real world tests.

        real talk

if this was the US or UK.

the hisense u8 would shit,on even the sony x90L

but here, the hisense u8,is really the hisense 7 series from the us,just with a panel change..

the only good hisense panel is the u9 miniled pro.

Hisense has better image processing, but the tcl has better miniled algorithm

hisense for some stupid reason use australia as a dumping ground for the models they cant sell oversees

now they are still..very good tvs..just if i was paying 2600 id want the sony or c845

        • Yeah the US doesn't even sell the c845, they have a slightly better model… We basically get all the crap here (not that the c845 is crap or anything)

    • Can you link the source of this information? I am unable to find anything online to say the Australian models have IPS panels.

      • Tests – Hisense U8HAU
        Image quality – Pass
It has a 10-bit, 1.07 billion colour/tone Quantum Dot LCD IPS panel.

It probably does not help that I have the LG QNED99 75”, 8K Mini-LED on the test bench at present (and the LG QNED91 65” 4K Mini-LED last week) because side-by-side the U8HAU image is underwhelming.

This is the Hisense U8HAU 2022 for Australia only. It is quite different to the U8Hxx series sold in other countries. Most international reviews will be for the Google TV, VA panel version with superior specifications to VIDAA U6, IPS panel version sold here.

They used to use the same model number for the US version and the AU version despite different panels. At least now they have the AU tag to help differentiate it.

  • Must resist….

Slightly cheaper here if you are in their delivery area. I would still buy from Appliances Online though as they have been around a long time and I've had good experience with them in the past.

If not in a rush just wait until the new models are widely available. The TVs software is not the best and apparently TCL never update things.

Shouldn't matter if you plan on using a separate streaming device.

I don't notice any blooming on mine, and I'm very happy with it overall.

Even the sound is decent, but obviously no match for a dedicated surround sound system (mine will be a 5.2.1 speaker setup)

      2nd this

      jan 6 is ces

and new tvs launch in feb/march

so all the old models get price cuts..

last feb u could grab the 65 tcl miniled from 2022 for under 1300 bucks

        Comparatively

The lowest the 75 inch c835 got was 1400
The lowest the 75 inch c845 has been so far is 1600

So there is definitely wiggle room… Not heaps though.

No 85 inch ones from 2022 to compare historical lows

  • What was the lowest price for this TV? I've missed the black Friday sales ($1660 for 75") and hoping to get a similar deal for 75" or 85"

During BFCM the 85C845 was available for $2226 with free delivery from Bing Lee when bought using Cashrewards. I am yet to receive it though, waiting on stock to arrive.

      • Thanks. I'm not in a rush so probably will wait for a better price

      • That's hot

Got mine from Bing Lee with cashback for about $2,250. Delivered a week and a half ago and I'm loving it.

      • Thanks for sharing

      • I'm going to choose to take solace in the assumption that Bing Lee won't deliver to my area.

They were late and delivered a completely smashed TCL (smaller sized) to my location so even when they can deliver it was not good so take solace in that too. Go with another store if possible.

@teacherer: Yeh, they also said they had no replacement stock until mid-Feb 2024 after mid-Dec delivery (purchased Black Friday). They wanted to switch me to a Hisense with no accounting for the lost discount from BF. Only when escalated to a manager did a unit miraculously appear. I made them promise it is a brand new unit but not holding my breath and expecting further hassles to come.

@Appleboat: What a terrible experience for something that should be exciting. That sucks mate

              • +1

@Appleboat: Glad you stuck to your guns. The Hisense U7 is definitely not as good

Get JB Hifi to price match and buy 10% off GC from any OZB from Classified forum to bring down the price.

Paid less for the LG C3 65" 😅

    • +16

You paid less for a 40% smaller TV?

      Shocker…

    • +2

Paid less for a Galaxy Note Plus

      • +1

Paid less for a carton of milk

        • +2

I got the empty carton for free!

          Thanks Pusdi

  • Currently says "available to order". Will JB hi-fi still price match?

    • That's a tricky one

  • Still available in SA for delivery.

  • Bing Lee price match and available for Melbourne delivery tomorrow if ordered before 10pm. I got a notification that mine, which was ordered during BFCM, will get delivered tomorrow!

  • +1

Yep, I had no prob whatsoever of JB matching that price.

    • That's good to hear

  • Any TCL 98" deals coming up?

  • just got 75 inch delivered from appliance central… screen came with cracks on it… smh

    • Damn dude

      • yeah really sucks… now they expect me to wrap up the whole thing myself and return it… such a facepalm

  • Surely they'll arrange a courier to pickup?

How did you prove to them that it wasn't your fault?

    • well they said they will need it back and do some tests themselves

i just turned the tv on and its got crack lines all over the place

so either had issues when it was being transferred or being handled at the warehouse

    • yeah also they have to have a courier to pick it up however they still expect me to wrap up the whole thing myself, which is really annoying considering im injured atm
it wouldve been good if they just sent the good tv from the beginning

  • +1

Deal seems to be over :(

    • Marked as expired, thanks
