First time poster!

Early bird JB Hi-Fi sales for end of year. Sonos Sub Mini in black and white reduced by $154.

Not as cheap as a previous deal, but still a decent discount. This will complete my home setup after the One SL deals from Black Friday sales. From reviews these are a great option to add to your Sonos soundbar setups.

Features:
More exhilarating home theatre
Unlock your entertainment experience when you pair Sub Mini with Beam or Ray. The 5 GHz WiFi connection enhances audio transmission speed so you can enjoy films, shows, and games with high-quality sound reliably synced with your TV.

More mesmerising music
Never miss a beat and hear more nuance in every note when you pair Sub Mini with One or One SL.

Core power
Within the acoustically-sealed cabinet, dual custom woofers generate the full-toned low frequencies of a much larger subwoofer. Advanced processing further enhances the bass response.

No buzz or rattle
Both woofers face inwards to create a force-cancelling effect that neutralises distortion.

Better bass for your space
Trueplay™ tuning technology adapts the bass for the unique acoustics of the room so it never sounds harsh, muddy, or flat — even if you place Sub Mini next to the wall.

Hides in plain sight
Elegant and compact, Sub Mini blends in beside your furniture and easily fits under a desk or table.

Connects wirelessly
Sub Mini connects to your system over WiFi, so you can place it wherever it fits and looks best in the room.

Plug, add, play
Just plug in the power cable, open the app, and follow a few simple instructions to add Sub Mini to your system.

Easy control
The volume automatically adjusts along with your paired soundbar or speaker. Use the Sonos app to customise the EQ and change the bass level to your preference.

This is part of Boxing Day Sales for 2023

    • What if you have the Arc

      • +2

Arc is awesome with a sub.

But if you have the arc, you should get the big one if it is in a big room.

        • +4

Can confirm Arc + Sub Gen3 is a game changer. Although in a suburban setting I find myself only using the sub for movies/music on saturday/sunday afternoons and early evenings. Maybe I'm too courteous to our neighbourts… but it sounds so amazing i'm worried iot carries too far.

@bmxr: Recommend you take a remote or wireless mouse outside and see how loud you can crank it before you can hear it at the fenceline. Pretty safe estimate since they will be indoors too.

Did this at my last place when i had a good speaker set up and was shocked how loud i could go courteously.

            • @900dollaridoos: That’s a clever point. I’m in similar boat. Feel bad if too loud but the Sonos seems to concentrate the sound pretty well in the room it’s in.

            • @900dollaridoos: Did the same thing actually. Was worried my setup with the Sonos Arc & Sub Mini would be too loud, but it turns out you can't even hear the system until it's at about 90% volume (I rarely go above 70% even for action movies)

              • @viperacr: Lot of it depends how your place is constructed more so than your audio setup itself. Can have all the plates, etc. in my kitchen here shaking, but step out the other side of the door and you can hardly hear anything. On the other hand, got a neighbour with an entire wall that must be extremely flimsy as it acts like a giant woofer. Bit like how the CIA can listen in on conversations by using a laser to measure the deflections from the sound waves on a window, but can't do it on well insulated solid brick wall.

      • I think it depends on the size of your room and love for bass. I'm have a similar problem here…

    • +1

i have a beam Gen2 and just added the sonos sub mini and i think the difference is amazing for movies and shows. Maybe not so much for music ?

      • It makes movies / tv so real, I often have myself startled in the kitchen with the kids watching tv when there is thunder or glass breaking etc.

        (It happens often!!)

    • +1

I hv Arc + Sub gen3 and Beam + Sub min. Subs make big difference in both combinations.

  • Love my sub mini! Great with my bedroom beam and IKEA bookshelf speakers.

  • +1

priced matched normal sub for $1099
    https://www.yoursmartlifestore.com.au/products/sonos-sub-pre…

paired with a beam and two sonos ones. Originally had 2 sub minis.
Sub mini is more than sufficient

Beam + Sub Mini + 2 SYMFONISK bookcases. Arguably the best Sonos 3.1 system on a budget. The sub mini is worth it.

    • Yep I have the exact same setup - my advice is get the Sub Mini last, it definitely adds oomph but I notice/get a lot more enjoyment out of the SYMFONISK surround setup, the sub was just a nice-to-have addition. (I mainly use for movies/tv/games, not much music listening)

  • Would the sub mini be worth it with a Sonos amp paired with b&w bookshelves? I see how it makes sense for a soundbar but seems less beneficial for something that is a bit larger already?

    • paired with b&w bookshelves

606's? Do you already have these?
They do a pretty good job on their own with a good amp, so not sure the sub would make to much difference. A mate has the Sonos Amp with ceiling speakers and a couple of Moves and this setup also does a great job, no sub required.
The benefit of the Move is you can play it on the base stand plugged in, or carry it to another room, or outside if you move around.

Sonos have just release the Move 2 so the Move is on sale too.

  • I am now looking to replace my really old Bose Cinemate. I was looking into Bose soundbar and sub combos. They add up to a fair coin. I have never used Sonos. Thank you for the above suggestions. I am going to do some research based on al of your suggestions.
If anyone is interested in helping, I was planning on connecting a soundbar and a sub to Xgimi Horizon Pro, using HDMI. Currently I am using Cinemate connected via an optical cable, and the speakers sit right were we sit. So the soundbar will need to be immediately behind our sitting positions.

  • Think I saw these on GG commercial for a few bucks cheaper.
They're good for rooms about 4x4.
