Foxtel: $310 Cashback (New Foxtel Residential Customers, on First Payment Only) @ Cashrewards

91

Just noticed an upsized cashback for Foxtel. It makes their sports HD package a somewhat acceptable price.

$739 for a year less $310 cashback = $429 / 12 = $35.75 a month including IQ5

An OK Deal for bargain hunters but a great one if you have older relatives who want foxtel :)

    Foxtel is still around?

Foxtel now/go, Kayo, Binge, etc… are all foxtel.

Whats to watch ? I got 1 month free from Telstra, but unable to see anything to watch. Furthermore, if I want to use FoxtelGo, i won't be able to use my phone with Android greater than 12.

    • The beta version of Foxtel Go works on later versions - I'm using it on my Pixel with Android 14. It's a worry that you have to use beta software though.

Prob won’t get my old relatives onto foxtel. It’s really hard to get out lol Like you have to hire someone to break you out of foxtel.

    • It's a death trap

    • Yeah I’ve heard the same sentiment and most of the families that I’ve known said it was like a year long process

I think they prey on the elderly, or something. I asked my landlord in one of the share houses I lived in, to pay me $100 to get him out. He thought it was a good idea, but renewed the next day when they called him up 🤣

    • Maybe we need a Foxtel pre-nup

    Murdoch owned trash, no thanks…..

pay so much money and you still watch ads… foxtel isn't worth it

It's a complete rort. I keep it for access to HBO shows, hoping MAX launches here so I can get rid of Foxtel.

      • There better not be american streaming sevices moving here, we already got way too much choice of streaming services, if all the american ones move here you would have to pay as much as (or more than) a foxtel subscription to get all the shows and movies you want. Soon we might all have to go back to pay TV lol.

        • It'd be great to have Google TV available here though. Some healthy competition for Murdoch then (even though he owns some of the channels included).

  • I'm gobsmacked that their basic not many good channels service is $52/month AND they still gouge an extra $10/month for HD in 2023/4.

I remember when basic was $29 and that wasn't exactly cheap. Even with no ads, $52 would be a big ask.

  • Still too much

    Arrrgh

In well over two decades, I've never given a single cent to Murdoch for any of his business endeavours. Every single one of his news websites are paywall free and all ads are fully blocked.

It's the little silent victories for me 🤣

Anything and everything Murdoch-related can EAD.

  • Op - when I go to pay I can only pay for month 1…

So the Cashback is no where near $300. Is this obtainable?

I had foxtel once , signed up for a twelve months deal .
When the twelve months were up they cut the signal and I thought that was that .
Turns out they still charge you even when not providing anything in return.
When I queried this with a manager I was told this is just how it is , now pay up .
They then demanded their set top box back which I promptly returned through the wheelie bin express .

Yeah they are dodgy beware. Signed up for a trial and they charged me the full $100 immediately and wouldn’t refund. Couldn’t be bothered going thru consumer affairs.
