Note also that the dual cam doorbell (T8213G11) is the slightly older model. There is a newer T8214T11 dual cam model (E340) which has lights at the top and bottom of the unit, battery is removable, and it can also run standalone (solo) if desired (can work without a HomeBase) and is the same price (RRP) as the older model
you meant S320 ;)? and TGG has stock on sales at $270ish I think
No - the E340 - I got mine for $239 (on sale + code + gift card) at JB hifi earlier this week
(and eufy keeps changing the model numbers of existing things! - e.g. the eufycam Solo S40 is sometimes also called the S230 and I think the older dual cam doorbell T8213G11 is also sometimes referred to as the S330 (which is also the same model number as the latest eufycam 3's (S330) (4K with the integrated top solar panel))
How is the E340 in terms delay, response time and clarity of the video?
@nightelves: I think JB HiFi is perhaps the only place currently selling the E340.
I bought mine (E340, not the model in this deal) in the early BF sales for about $270. I have it connected to my BaseStation 3 and it works well enough. The (notification) delay seems a bit variable with anything from almost instant to a few seconds. The video quality is good (as expected from 2K). The ability to see the floor immediately below the doorbell is handy.
It doesn't have a separate chime, but the BS3 is a chime (and the phone). I have a large house, so I bought a Echo Dot 5 for $49 to use as a chime and it works well.
Probably my only complaint so far is that the lights tend to throw up and down the wall more than outwards, so the night vision (either full colour or IR) isn't as good as my Eufy cameras (both 2 Pro 2K & 330 4K). I need to play around with it more to see if I can improve this.
@Andy01: Hows the delays versus say google nest doorbell?
I have the google homes and my old
Arlo doorbell could ‘chime’ from there. Eufy do the same?@richmond12: I have mine hooked to my Echo Show 8 and it appears to work well (you get the initial chime (of your choice) and then a voice notification and then the video starts up on the screen).
It says it supports Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant (so I'm guessing it might work with Google Home like it does with Alexa), but it doesn’t currently support HomeKit
@richmond12: Sorry, I wouldn't have a clue. I have never owned anything Google - nest or homes.
Whats the function of the lights?
And the removable battery pack doesnt include a charger does it?
The lights provide full colour night vision.
From memory (I only charged it when I first got it) the battery is charged with a USB-C cable and standard phone charger.
One of the reported "issues" with the model in this deal (not the E340) seems to be that the fixed battery seems to lose power after a few charges and, of course, is not replaceable. This was my main reason for getting the E340 rather.
Yeah i got that for free from Eufy and its pretty nice.
A gentle reminder on the trustworthiness of eufy: https://www.theverge.com/23573362/anker-eufy-security-camera…
Why has his been negged? It's a reminder.
Classic Ozbargain. When in doubt, Neg
That was in Feb and the situation has changed. Pick apart the response and it is not as doom and gloom as some make it out.
