Not sure how often these go on sale but looks like a really good price to me from what I've been seeing? I really like the form factor of these wish there was some more competition.

Non upgradable ram and uses a 2230 SSD (same type as the steam deck).

  • Is this the laptop with the GPU locked to 25 TDP? If so, dodge.

Gotta make sacrifices in 13 inch / 1.3kg gaming laptop tbh.

        • Not flip, not 120hz, not touch. They don't have to be important aspects, but you have to compare apples with apples.

        • 1.6kg and no flip is a big difference.

Best value at the moment for a 14" or less light gaming laptop?

    • -2

I would prefer to get a steam deck + m1 macbook air for around this price, if you're going this light.

      • Doesn't the macbook cost more than this on its own?

    • Lenovo Legion 14" OLED
      32gb, Ryzen 7 7840HS, 1tb SSD, 4060 GPU.
Was available for $2k before 15% cashback over the last few weeks. Similar price to this deal but better specs minus the touch screen

      • Great suggestion - I just missed this sale!

Despite the comments above, they fail to account for the fact that their options are not convertibles ie:
      - I could buy a steam deck + m1 macbook air or I could save the space and ease of operation by just having it in one device.
      - Lenovo Legion 14" OLED is a laptop not a tablet+laptop convertible

Convertibles are amazing to use on the flights, when presenting to clients and at home, and doesn't limit you like the above do

  • It is the last-generation chassis.
Just to mention the new chassis for the 2023 model (amd 7840 and nv 40 series) is immensely better. With a huge trackpad and thinner screen bezels.
The battery has a much bigger capacity as well, 75wh vs 62wh for the last gen.
The exterior aesthetics have also changed, with a new aluminium texture it just feels more premium.
    I own both x13 and z13.

ASUS answering the questions that no one asked

    RTX 3050 40W (35W + 5W Dynamic Boost)

Good thing the AMD Strix Halo APU's will destroy these handicapped dGPU designs so NVIDIA can get back to the real business of selling $15K AI cards

  • Damn wrong reply/ but definitely love the design of x13.

Very overpriced for a 13” 3050 imo. Lenovo LOQ with full powered 3050 and better upgradability was $899 after $400 SN cashback on BlackFriday.

You also have to consider that it can fold 360 and has a touch screen. Nothing else can do that with a dgpu. Sure, it's not the best and it's still expensive… But make a fair comparison.

This is posted in Gaming laptops tag that I’m following with “3050 gaming laptop” highlighted in the title so…

Maybe OP should just post without gaming laptops tag saying “360 foldable touchscreen laptop”.

As a “gaming laptop” this is terrible value for money. Better suited for a content creator looking for touch and pen support.

        • While I agree a stunted 3050 isn't very gamey by my standards (and most people into this sort of tech), it still does play games at whatever frames, specs and resolution a stunted 3050 can push. Technically this does qualify it as a gaming laptop, but it offers poor value when looking at a performance standpoint. It does have options to boost performance with its proprietary external gpu and it has a combination of interesting features not available anywhere else.

Again, not good value, but it's one of a kind, especially when it came out.

@shiny1: “Technically somehow qualifying” isn’t an OzBargain deal.

Even laptops without a dGPU can play a lot of games. I wouldn’t post such laptops as a “gaming laptop deal”

  • How is this compare with AMD Ryzen 9 5900HS| 3050ti version? $1250 refurbished.

    • The price vs performance looks good to me, depends on the seller and the quality of warranty. Who is the retailer?

The last stock at eBay has been sold, SMG-AU is the seller. They do have stocks at Amazon for 1.5k . Didn't buy it though , as I managed to grab an unused i7 12th gen VIVOBOOK pro 15 RTX3050 2.8k OLED for 1k.
