First time post and I know nothing about torches to comment on the quality of the item, but I thought this looked like a reasonable deal.

Henry wasn’t waterproof, is this??
RRP of over $500! Is this for real?
I thought the same thing, then I read the description:
"At less than 3 pounds and 2,207 lumens, the new 9410L LED Lantern packs the power without the weight. Four LEDs, powered by the latest generation Lithium-Ion batteries illuminate a distance of 475 yards (435 meters)."
A bit different than the old pelican torch we had when I was a kid. It was decent, but not that decent.

You're not getting your Storm Boy confused with your Flipper are you?
Or Dolphin torch?

Awesome! Must use some light-sabre like technology. Would have been very handy during the Blitz.
And you can still buy the batteries for the old Dolphn torches.

These are really aimed at professionals and emergency services. Pelican are well known for their high quality storage cases. I don't think you would regret this purchase if its what you needed..
Well it holds 9,410 litres of light!
What batteries?
6 x 18650, wired up in fancy pack. Seems to come with a mains charging cradle too.
Good discount but is it a good light.?
I think a big reason for the high RRP is the industry safety approval/s that it has.
I'm a firefighter. We use Pelican Sabrelights attached to our breathing apparatus. I can't comment on this deal, but the Sabrelights we use are heavy duty, intrinsically safe, and have a lifetime warranty. They get a thrashing and just keep working.
Henry! Choo-choo!
