Lowest price ever for Black Friday. There's also this version for a dollar more and $20 higher RRP that is "Amazon's Choice."

Unfortunately after a quick comparison I found you actually get more with this cheaper version with a lower RRP so my inner OzBargainer doesn't feel as satiated with the savings. The colour of the stones/shape of the base does look slightly different between listings but aside from that all the components look the same

For fine grit whetstones, it is worth paying more for good quality ones.

I have this and I've used it. I don't know how it compares to other sharpening stones, but with it I am able to get an improved sharpness.

    • Are you saying these perform as advertised?
Jokes aside, I think this might be a good starting point. Test the waters then buy the proper stuff. Some people prefer that to going straight to the good stuff.

    • Me too. I ground out some chips and sharpened well enough.

I might be doing this wrong, but camelcamelcamel says its always this price https://au.camelcamelcamel.com/product/B09S6J7LST

I'll be honest, I'm not the most knowledgeable on how 3camels works. However, the URL you provided does appear to be for a different product without sharpening gloves or the green polishing compound or second strop for razors

    • It's actually near its all time high. This is an anti-bargain. Also, there's a cheaper version with most things in this set here: https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B08NG85BVT

Thanks. Got one. Needed to upgrade my old stone. Looking very average. Good it comes with different grit.

    Combine with this from TOT.

Not finished the video yet but I do like that Tony guy, thanks for sharing him

waste of time video, useless design and not even replicable.

id rather watch someone demonstrate grinding a completely new razor sharp edge on a chipped knife using a ruixin style knife sharpener.

        • Meant to be a Rube Goldberg machine project, the humour is wasted.

          • @Quarn: nothing humorous at all in the video.

            • @[Deactivated]: This Old Tony always has humour in his videos, whether you get it or not is a different matter. The first joke in that video is all of 10 seconds in.

              • @Quarn: if you need to explain a joke its a bad joke. and yes I saw nothing funny in the first 10 sec of the clip.

  • Note that these annoying things need to be soaked for 10 mins and then dried, every time you use it.

Buyer beware, these are frankly trash. Good quality stones are worth their weight in gold. I would always recommend diamond stones if budget permits.

  • Image 6 on that page shows that it 'Sharpens all knives and scissors' with labelled images.
Pretty sure I worked out what the various 'kinfes' are eg Buter kinfe and Boning kinfe are easy guesses but I'm having trouble interpreting what a 'Fokfing kinfe" is.

    • Donald Trump probably writes their scripts.
