if this gets you the free Civ V from steam, that would be awesome!… but we probably wouldnt know until its activated and released on steam

  • Very tempting! It's also $45 pre order at oz game shop.

  • I have been waiting too long for this sequel. It finally being made. A few days to go. Thank you Firaxis Games.

It's $37.50 at Greenman Gaming with the coupon 'GMG25-EVFWS-4Z4ZN' and comes with both a copy of Civ 5 and the preorder elite soldier pack making it better value imo.

http://www.greenmangaming.com/?gmgr=liresace (my referral link for $2 bonus credit after your first purchase).

You should get the key instantly to preload on steam.

    • Just a question, shouldnt the one from CDKEYSdiscount be the same? its also an official steam key as well?

I think the Civ5 offer was unique to preorders through steam only.

As far as I know Greenman Gaming have either arranged this bonus with the publisher or are offering civ5 keys out of pocket to match steam. CDKEYdiscount don't mention the bonus at all.

I have already entered my steam code from Greenman Gaming and it did not give me Civ5 automatically. They are sending Civ5 codes to everyone who purchased the game in a couple of days (on release).

I personally tend to stay away from key sites as much as possible, many of them have a shady reputation and you are often buying keys sourced from Russia/Eastern European regions (though XCom is not region locked). Regardless, I would prefer to pay the extra $7.50 at a reputable site instead of getting a scanned key.

    • I just bought it and got the DLC but not Civ V

The original was one of the best games of all time…
All the spiritual sequels / remakes were terrible…

What makes people think this won't flop like the other half-dozen attempts that have been released?

EDIT: Ok, reviews are up. It's pretty good. 85% gamespot, 82% IGN

  • thanks man, just ordered :)

  • And I always thought I was the only X-Com Nerd on this planet. I am feeling part of a big family now. Now I know how Apple people feel: Warm and cozy. What was the name of that weapon the could fly around corners several time and then deliver devastation to the aliens …. something "blaster" … ?

      Blaster Launcher.

My favourite thing was to get guys trained up with the Psi-Amps and literally have a chain of aliens spotting one another and revealing the majority of the map in a couple of turns, then having them all kill each other. It made the game too easy, but hot damn did it feel good.

      • Yep, exactly wht I did too. Then walking into the smoke to see if any alien survived.
I wonder if there is something similar !

      • It felt good because it was payback.

Because every game you started, you eventually discovered that your commander had psionic resistance of 10 and was like a puppet on strings. Reversing the tables always felt gooood.

And yes they have psionics in this game. Read it in a review.

    • Disruptor Launcher :D

      • Nah, its blaster launcher.

        • Yes, you're right. I got confused with Terror From The Deep….

  • Thanks. Order placed!
