soldered ram…. everytime not even 16gb

      8GB LPDDR4 ???????

      in 2023????????????????????????

      • I guess that's why it's cheap

      • +8

at least they dont charge you like $2700 for the 8GB of ram. looking at you macbook

        • +4

But 8GB is enough. Till it isn't. Then you are using it wrong.

        • +1

          $3000*

        • -1

8Gb on Macbook is not the same as 8Gb on Windows. In other words, 8Gb on Macbook = 16Gb on Windows, more or less. Depends on use case.

    Bonus $69 Gift Card

    Nice

          Giggity

        • Now that's priceless!

  • +5

I suspect it's not OLED.. the spec sheet says IPS

    https://laptopmedia.com/au/review/lenovo-yoga-slim-7-pro-14/
    the 2240 x 1400 panel is not OLED. Usually Lenovo's 14" OLED panel is 2880 x 1800

    • +1

Yeah misleading description in the body of the page as once you open up the specs it says IPS

    • -7

Might be worth heading in-store to investigate for any bargain hunters… I'm sure you can get it refunded with no fuss if it turns out to be an IPS.

      • +3

Wouldn't it be worth to change the title and the contents to give the correct info?

  • Hehe funny number!

  • Description says IPS, not OLED and as another commenter mentioned the OLED is typically 2.8K

  • -5

    Screen Type: IPS

  • +3

Bwahhhh..so comments are not saying OLED. I sat erect for a brief moment!

  • What kind of giftcard? I cannot find the info.

  • Bonus 69

    Olala…..

PSREF is the best website to double check all Lenovo specs:

    https://psref.lenovo.com/Detail/Yoga/Yoga_Slim_7_Pro_14ACH5?…

    • “14" 2.2K (2240x1400) IPS 300nits Anti-glare, 100% sRGB, Dolby® Vision™”

  • not oled

  • Would this be a good laptop for a year 7?

    • +1

It would be powerful enough, but might not be so good when getting knocks and bunps. Also, some schools are recommending touch screens (e.g. the Melbourne public high school I am sending my kid to)

      • same with my kid's high school. this requirement adds a significant increase to the laptop prices… these schools requesting these specs better have good justification for this premium add on.

This looks like a better deal to me
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/815518

    • Hmm I don't think it's a better laptop, it's just unfortunate this has 8gb of ram, otherwise this is better in almost everyway

      • Oh really? They seemed comparable at least. If you have time can you tell me why? I've currently got the HP still in its box

        • While the CPU is newer and the ram is more, this one has a reasonable processor, a brighter screen and nearly double the battery life.
The 8gb is just too crippling for me to recommend though. If there was an option to spend an extra $100 to double the ram, I would most likely choose this one.
For me the 3 most important factors on a laptop are reliability/durability, weight and battery life.
Reliability, Lenovo is generally more favourable than HP. And this I believe has a full aluminium chassis
          Weight, the hp wins
          Battery life the Lenovo wins.
The specs outside the ram probably won't be noticeable that much. Both are low power CPUs which will do all business tasks fairly equally.
But because the 8gb is so crippling in my opinion the one you have now makes more sense.. as long as you are ok with 6 or so hours of battery life vs ~10 of lenovo on real world use

  • Harvey Norman has the same laptop, same SKU. No mention of OLED. 99% sure it’s IPS, I dont think they ever did 2.2k OLED at 14”, they’re usually the 2.8k panels.

Also soldered 8gb, even if it was OLED that’s an immediate dealbreaker.

  • You've got both 5600H and 5800H in the description please fix

  • -1

I would not use a 4GB ram Mac.

  • +1

Like the deal but have to pass for no Ethernet and HDMI ports.

    • USB C has replaced both of these - most thin and light machines no longer have either Ethernet or HDMI.

      • +3

        It's annoying having dongles.

        • Yeah, and more expense. It's already so annoying not being able to use my 'old' 3.5mm headphone on new phone without additional attachment.

          • @SuperLate: I despise the dropping of the 3.5mm jack. Even tablets are doing it and they are definitely not cramped for space.

            • @Guybrush57: There's a time we used to get earphones and chargers with the device and now not only we have to buy every accessory but also their connectors. This is nothing but dirty business and monopoly prevailed.

  • +4

    Not OLED. It’s misleading

    • Agree it's IPS

  • Misleading and deceptive! Change it or be prepared to 'ogg'.

    EDIT: Good choice. Thanks.

  • Doesn't look like there is a ram slot to upgrade to 16GB, putty for the price this would have great bang for buck.

  • +1

Isn't thunderbolt intel CPU only? specs is wrong

    • You are right, this has no thunderbolt (it's intel only)

  • +1

this is not OLED. OLED SKUs are 2.8k resolution

  • -1

    300nits 👎

    • very unlikely to get any brighter at this price

    • 300nits at this price is excellent.

  • Was $1397…..

    Ahhh. Hahahahahahahaha haha…..

  • That ram tho’.

  • Is this a real deal?
