    • It's been sub-$500 a bunch of times in the past, most recently in this deal in December 2022 which was also the all-time historical low.

      • Historical low was $399 from the Breville Factory Outlet back in 2019.

        • Link?

That deal doesn't show up when you search for all deals tagged with this Breville model number.

          • @Miami Mall Alien: Doesn't look like it was advertised on OZB, it was a damaged box sale they had at the time right before the store closed down. The unit I got had no damage and still using it today.

  • I'm looking for a fully automatic one for lattes and removable milk container . Just mainly for ease of use and cleaning. Any recommendations ?

    • I can wholeheartedly recommend the Eletta explorer

      • +7

        Aletta Ocean?

      • Thanks.probably shoulda stated is there anything around 500?

        • +1

Delonghi Magnifica S - on amazon for $464.

    • At work two weeks ago we purchased Delonghi Magnifica Eva Fully Automatic machine and have to say it perfect. It's so easy to use it has customisation for staff for stong or weak coffee.

I recommend going to good guys they usually have demonstrations and they will tell you difference between them it's worth while.

  • Is the grinder good enough on these to make espresso with single wall basket?

    • +2

Yes it will go fine enough, but the quality is not fantastic. The grinds are very clumpy and has high retention. Still perfectly fine for people who don’t want to spend $400+ on a dedicated grinder. I’d get a scale, a WDT tool and a dosing ring.

      • can recommend those accessories but it all depends if you wanna go down that rabbit hole lol

  • How does this go with making lots of coffee? I generally have a large mug with 4-5 shots in it so this seems like it would use a ton of coffee (atm I use a Mokapot 9-shot stovetop unit)

    • +1

      4-5 single or double?

      And I though I am overdosing….

      • 4-5 single

Though at the moment with the 9-shot Mokapot, it's more like 350ml of straight coffee :D
I'm looking for an auto machine (I can grind separately if needed but would be nice to be integrated), that will give me at least 250ml of pure espresso (so no hot water topped up).

    • atm I use a Mokapot 9-shot stovetop unit

Yeah this is not gonna cut it.

    • +2

Not sure I’m totally understanding your question. For a given strength and volume of brewed coffee, the amount of ground coffee you need doesn’t vary much whether you’re using a moka pot or espresso machine. 4-5 shots of straight espresso (~9g per shot) sounds like a good way to give yourself heart palpitations.

Either way, this machine will pull back to back shots perfectly fine.

  • Also if you want your machine to last. Descale regularly. Get it serviced yearly. O-rings on most of the Breville models will perish over time.

    • Serviced??? I don't even think Breville suggests servicing. When something breaks, get it repaired, pretty sure I read that from a Breville employee somewhere.

Sure, clean it, descale, but you don't need to take it in for a service.

      • I work in appliances repairs, at least 3 Breville coffee machines come in a day sometimes many more. Majority of them need replacement parts from the damage caused by perished O rings(water, steam, heat+electronics=bad). It is a preventative measure. Breville are great to deal with as long as your machine is in warranty. At the end of the day people will treat their machines however they want :)

  • +1

This is a great price for this machine. My friend has that model it's now 4 years old and the machine makes about 6 coffee a day so the quality is there.

    • This is great to hear as I am thinking of getting this model. Can I ask if your friend regularly descales the machine? I had the lower model Breville Roma and it lasted many years without a single descale.

With Breville, you really need to set a price limit before you start looking at it, the argument usually goes like this…

    1) Start With BB+ and SGP, people tell you may as well get Barista Express (NOT TRUE, I will explain)…..
    2) Get Barista Express? No you need Barista Pro, ThermalJet is far superior (true) but……
    3) You then get nobs goes if you are spending that much on Barista Pro? You should look at Dual Boiler instead (Which take 10 minutes to get ready because its a boiler machine).
    4) Since you will need a grinder for dual boiler, you then get comment say you may as well get Oracle, its grinder is good and it temps (true), but it cost an arm and leg.

The biggest issue I have with this (and all build in grinder) is it is hard to deep clean. With my SGP I can just flip the thing around and brush all the stuff out. For a build in grinder you obviously can't flip the machine over and the only way to deep clean is to get a strong mini hoover to suck the residues out, trust me its not easy to find strong hoover but small. Further the grinder are only soso until you get to Oracle which in my opinion is SGP level (still not great but usable).

So if you price yourself at $500 including grinder, the is not a bad deal and like the only half decent option. The other option (which I prefer) is to get a standard Bambino and a grinder. You are likely to have to pay a bit more then $500 but its worth the extra.

I currently using BB+ and SGP for almost three years now…..

    • +4

      BB+ = Breville Bambino Plus
      SGP = Smart Grinder Pro

      • Thank you for that lol. I have this cheap little Delonghi Espresso machine I got off FB marketplace a year ago that has introduced me to coffee and I'll have to look at this combo down the line when a good sale happens

    • the is not a bad deal

      • +1

That is because the price for BB+ has been jack up so much! The pricing of Breville coffee machines is just….. stupid!!

        • +1

This. Price increase for Bambino Plus has been crazy.

  • Any recommendations for a good coffee scale ?

    • Timemore Black Mirror is pretty solid, $50-$60 via Aliexpress incl. shipping.

      • I am thinking of getting this. Any other recommendations for scales?

  • Damn, I got this machine recently off Amazon (with the milk frothing jug) for a little over $600, this seems like a good price

  • This thing makes coffee as good as my BES920 although the milk froth didn't feel as good. My friend is not much of an expert frother so maybe even the froth can be as good.

  • Looks like it back to $549

These are also $420.50 with BF22AU (https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/364543070180) refurb @ the Breville store if you want to roll the dice at a lower price point.
