Not sure about this, and willing to be corrected, but what about Vitacost US$2.99 under 3 lbs
(I would buy vitamins, and don't want to pay for heavy article)

  • DHL Saver - International
Weight up to 10 lbs ( 4535 grams)
Flat $10.00 if subtotal over $60.00!
Usually Takes 2-4 days, with tracking number

This is much better delivery method than vitacost.

  • But I went to buy just one bottle of vitamin pills and shipping cost was $6.00 at iHerb.
    Whereas $2.99 at Vitacost.
Am I missing something - just want to find the lowest shipping for vitamins.
(I have not ordered from either yet and have no referral code to push)

No you're quite right, Vitacost is probably still cheaper if you are after something that will fit into their cheap 3lb shipping limit. Anything heavier than that though and it quickly goes up to over $30 for shipping. This is a great deal for heavier items.

I always check between vitacost.com, bodybuilding.com and iherb.com when ordering some vitamins or supplements etc for the cheapest deal.

  • This sounds like a good deal. Jm48, with regards shipping cost, depends on the method. The 2.99 one may be airmail and from past experience this can take 6 weeks or more. If you are ok with that then go with the cheapest.

    • My last 2 vitacost orders took 2 weeks max. Small parcels though

Will a big shipment of various proteins make it through customs? Does iherb have a system that tells you if it won't make it or they can't ship it to AUS?

    • +3

Yes, iHerb will often warn if an item is likely to get banned by customs, The warning is in the cart, and there is also a list of items that are not allowed, but having said that, its still possible for items to get banned by customs.

I have ordered from iHerb for many years and have not yet had a problem. But regarding protien, there are protiens that can have trouble with customs.

Further info is available from Australias Customs website on banned items.

Thanks for the info, I guess I will have to pay exorbitant Aus rates for some egg protein.

    • +1

Yeh , it will tell you in checkout if the item cannot be shipped to Australia and block the checkout until you remove the item from your cart

      • Thanks!

  • express shipping. interesting

    • Iherb does the DHL special two times a year, and the DHL service is very good, if you order on a Tuesday night, you normally receive the package on the Thursday evening in Sydney, comparable speed to ordering from interstate with express shipping.

Good idea to stock up on Nutiva Coconut Oil.

      • was thinking the same thing for coconut oil.

but i was surprised iherb wont ship chia seeds to oz. apparently there's a shortage aus wide. my usual supplier went from $16.50 per kg to $20 and is going up to $25 on Monday!

  • Strange re the chia seeds, have had Now chia seeds from iherb before. Thanks for reminding me about coconut oil.
