These are actually very good. Very surprised that by just throwing in some Coles beef short ribs plus some veggies it makes me a fantastic meal.
By the way I have absolutely no idea how to cook. I buy Uber eats almost everyday.

Those are great. However, little annoyances made me move to Tefal. Here is my take on it: https://youtu.be/mYbAyn-9W4I

I have one and don’t have the issues that you mention. Maybe just unlucky.

Maybe… 59 min max timer is an issue for some. I'm pretty sure it's Philips wide. When hot the silicone rubber isn't staying on if you need to open and close the lead - reported by many… Sure, maybe bad luck, but Tefal is much better (for me).

  • Would Instant Pot Duo be better?

Decide based on space and spare parts availability. I have the Philips and have used it extensively. If I had to buy one again, I would go Philips.

  • One of my best purchage. Using frequently and no issue. Last year I bougth it for 260 and claimed 100 dollars cashback from philip website. Unfortunately they don't have cashback for cooker this year.

  • This is the same price at JB

  • Steep on the 8L…

Found and bought this instead, also has stainless steel pot. Baccarat The Smart Chef XL Multicooker 8L. Post below.

  • Anyone know how good this is for rice? Will use it for other things but primarily to cook white rice.

    • Works well for us. Quicker than doing it on the stove.

Also makes mashed potato very quickly too.

      • Nice. I already have different rice cookers so am really comparing them to that.

Tbh compared to your basic Asian rice cooker, I find that it takes longer. E.g. a tiger rice cooker takes probably like 10-15 but I feel the Phillips takes about 25?

      • Interesting. Might do some research. Speed is def important.

        • Trust me, I'm Asian. When I use simple rice cookers I look over and the rice is done, but with the Phillips in the same amount of time, it's still pre heating + an extra 15 minutes that comes up on the screen for cook time. If you're just cooking rice I reckon a simple one is the way to go

          • @grack: Thanks. You have saved me an annoying purchase. Hopefully can find a good deal for a reasonable sized rice cooker soon.

  • Love my 8L. Only thing I hate is that it’s not possible to pressure cook something on high for a time under 15min.

  • Down to $119.20.
