Armani Jeans Leather Belt from $46.48 @ David Jones (Adelaide, SA)

70

Not exactly dirt cheap but pretty alright at ~66% off. Saw quite a few styles; cheapest was $46.48.

Belt size is labelled 85/100, I'm pretty sure it means the belt is 85cm (~34 inch) long.

SA called it the 'dump pile', pretty degrading imo but i'll roll in it naked if it means i can get higher discounts.

    Doesn't look like it's worth $46 :l

That's what I was thinking. And to think it was originally $139…!

well you're certainly entitled to your opinion. It's worth it to me because the belt isn't made of those hard, rigid, business-esq leather but soft leather (which is supposedly better) and goes well with looser jeans. But in the end, to each their own i guess.

It astounds me the way people on ozbargain think that the -ve button is supposed to be an 'I disagree with you' button.

(at time of posting, blablabla23 has -1 points)

          It's exactly what it's for.

        • No, it's for people who don't contribute to discussion, troll, or are generally stupid.

blablabla23 was respectful and reasonable. He explained why the belts are, to him, worth $46. Disagreeing with his respectfully expressed opinion isn't grounds to start negging him.

    • It's the quality of the leather. There used to be a time when all I could afford were dirt cheap $10/$20 belts. They fell apart and fast. Then my friend got me an Emporio (or maybe it was Giorgio, it was a long time ago) Belt, and rather than lasting a few months (used almost every day) it lasted a few years before I thought it was time for a change (didn't fall apart, just looked over used).

I'd pay $46 for it. Though full price is asking a bit much…

      • I don't mind paying $100 for a tie or a belt but it's just the style that I don't like.

The Armani line goes: Jeans, Exchange, Emporio = Collezioni and finally Georgio.

I just don't like the casualness of the Jeans, AX and Emporio line and much prefer the formal ware of the upper labels but that's just me. The OP has a clear preference for the everyday look and shouldn't be negged for that.

        • I think you mean Giorgio mate.

        • I think you're right :)

DJ's in Sydney city store had a load of good belts, its good to see leather belts made in Australia and Italy, as many these days are Chinese made, and will not last very long.

A good belt can last more than ten years, so i dont have a problem spending $50 on a belt.

now now. As much as i like my jeans and belts to be made in italy, that doesn't mean all chinese-made goods are inferior. The same way not all italian-made products are automatically better. It all boils down to quality control.

Oops, what i meant to say above is that DJ's in Sydney is also having a sale of belts, so this deal is probably Aus wide, there was a good range of many top brands.

My Australian JAG Belt was purchased in 2000 for $50 and has been worn a majority of the past 12 years, and its still used.

The main problems with belts are the materials, quality of leather and the dies used. Buying a good quality belt is cheaper in the long run.

    • I bought an oroton leather belt about 2 years back on sale for about $60, still using without any sign of wear. Ive had many a $20-30 belt that has only lasted a few months to a year. Looking forward i think i would gladly pay full price for a quality leather belt. In saying that - i never would because we just wait for them to come on sale :)

      • I thought that Oroton have a 70% off every month :P
