  • I have the Beryl AX and it's great. Set up with OpenDNS

  • What are the reasons to fork out on the AX models over the Plus?

    • +2

Faster processor, WiFi 6, I think it also has the microSD card slot, faster VPN.
If I would be looking for my main router I would go for that.
But for travelling, I appreciate the smaller size and lower power consumption of the Plus. And it is half the price :-)

  • I have the Mango… what improvements does the Slate Plus offer over the Mango?

    • +4

      Faster wifi and 5GHz

      300Mbps (2.4GHz) vs Max. 400Mbps Max. 867Mbps 5GHz

      Faster CPU

      MTK7628NN, @580Mhz SoC vs IPQ4018, Quad Core@710Mhz

      More Ram

      DDR2 128MB vs DDR3L 256MB

      More Storage

FLASH 16MB vs NOR Flash 4MB + NAND Flash 128MB

      More ethernet ports

      2 x 10/100Mbps vs 3 gigabit ports

      • Thanks for info highlighting the differences

        • FYI I have a mango and just got this. This will be support for longer as well. The features you can add to this would be a lot better.

  • I am just planning to plug my usb dongle into one of these without using vpn in a single user, budget conscious household, would this be more than sufficient? https://www.amazon.com.au/dp/B09N72FMH5/ref=emc_b_5_t

Currently just using the usb dongle and it reaches capacity too quickly as I have multiple smart lights and power sockets.
