The Ax55 pro is on sale for $149 too.
What's the differences with that one compared to the regular 55 ?
Looks like a 2.5G Port
Also, not sold not amazon au for the Pro

In addition to the 2.5Gbps port, I think it has a faster processor etc but it seems it too new for there to be any real low level technical details online..
@stumo: Yeah, I looked on TP link website to see hardware difference; they don't list what it is
@Vaynard05: Yes. There are 3 sellers on eBay for 149 with a $10 voucher making it 139
@Vaynard05: $130 with 22% off code
Would you recommend this or the Asus rt-ax56u?
The ASUS 56U is End of life and slower than this. I'd go with this.
This doesn't support open wrt and never will.
It calls home constantly. DNS queries measure it the hundreds every hour. This can't be turned off.
It will also redirect from your local IP address to tplink.net randomly and this also can't be turned off.
Apart from that it's OK. Pretty paltry options but it works I guess.
Does anyone know about how this one performs in terms of drop-outs and connecting multiple devices at a time?
I have this, running 2 devices on LAN and 3 on wifi in 2 bed apartment. Never had any dropouts and seems to be performing well. It's placed in a cupboard so for what it is and my setup it works good.
purchased TP-Link Archer AX50 via good guys
https://www.thegoodguys.com.au/tp-link-ax3000-dual-band-wi-f…The ax55 is $5 cheaper and has mesh capabilities
mainly purchased for 3years free Homecare functionality for better parental control
I like TP-Link and I'm using the AX50 router at home, but I can never get a stable enough connection for WiFi gaming. Maybe it's just me.
Want a decent router for FTTN NBN and has sum card capabilities
Was about to pull the trigger on the AX73, which is $100 more. Quite similar in comparison, the ax73 obviously a little faster and can handle more devices at the one time.
