Amazing deal that ! Are the technical specs the same as I’ve heard that some foreign models are different?
Yes and no, the actual specs are the same but it is software restricted in some regions where the band hasnt been approved. The US firmware can operate on bands that are not authorised in AUS but the actual hardware is the exact same.
Not this exact router but thought I’d share my experience recently upgrading to the BE25. Picked up 3 pack from good guys commercial for $400 delivered. I figured the 6ghz and dedicated wireless backhaul wouldn’t help me too much because single story low density housing and was considering wired backhaul install, so opted for BE25 over this for price savings.
NBN fttp 1000/50 plan. Had a gen 1 google wifi mesh. 4 bed house.
Main router in garage. Download speeds on the garage router itself maxed around 550mbps. Wifi at node 2 in living room 100-150mbps. Node 3 other side of house 50mbps.
Replaced with the BE25 in same locations. Node 1 hardwire speed went up to 850mbps. Wifi at node 2 300-400mbps, node 3 150mbps. Upgraded and had cat 6 Ethernet run for wired back haul from node 1 to node 2 and node 3 with a 2.5gbe switch. Now get 600mbps at node 2 and 3 on my wifi 6 MacBook. (No wifi 7 devices to test that speed unfortunately)
Thanks for sharing!
But, aren't you supposed to have 1000Mbps on all nodes when using ethernet backhaul?
I’d say I would just none of my wifi 6 devices are getting that speed. I have nothing plugged in with 1gigabit that I could speed test.
So I guess the moral of my story was new router certainly help but the speeds advertised are not what you’ll get
Yeah, what confuses me is I recently moved from 50/20 ADSL to 100/16 NBN w/ Leaptel
Only my MBA2 clocking at 100/16 while all other devices – Samsung, iPhone capped at 70/16.
Is it true that if your internet drops out you can’t use local network functions?
Unsure haven’t tested it, but I believe that was the consensus
Is this a new thing with these particular Deco models? I swear I've had internet dropouts but still been able to use my NAS with my X50's.
How can we share movies on USB drives or SSDs? With old routers, we could just plug them into the USB port.
This one does have a usb 3.0 port
Fyi I just got a 3-pack through the good guys commercial for $699. It's not listed on their website so had to send an enquiry.
Crap! I want that! How do i get onto TGG commerical?
Is it possible to find out how much can they do the 2 pack for considering centre com’s $551 price?
So I finally got access… All I can see is one unit for $700 not a three pack.
Just ordered this however it is now 'awaiting stock' despite being 'instock' when I purchased it. I have asked re potential delay but no response yet.
Additionally there is also a V2 version of this product - I don't know what additional functionality it has.
Was able to import one from the US for $350 USD + $78 USD for a 3 pack which was around $660 before the FX (profanity).
Otherwise an amazing router.
