I was looking for a square monitor and this popped up. Reviews seem good.

Don't be a square
There aren't many reasons but there are some:
Very limited desk space / width available.
Works with old 4:3 video a lot.
Doesn't work with modern wide-screen video at all.Personally, since i dont play, for coding, general writing. Also browsing is much much better (for me). Websites are developed in lenght and we browse with widescreen monitors.
If you see it, have a go, its weirdly better.
But each its own i guess.Business mostly. Day traders, receptionists, open plan office workers with limited desk space.
I was in Centrelink the other day sortout my parent's pension issue and I was surprised that it was full of 32:9 monitors. OP's monitor might have been a better option.
$898 for 2x seamless 27" 2560x1440 IPS monitors plus dual monitor stand for a total area of 2560x2880
Or pay $350-450 for 1x 27" 4K IPS monitor and rotate for a total area of 2160x3840
LG thinking 400 extra pixel width for double the price is NVIDIA esque
Oh wow, never thought about this…
As someone who used to use a pivoted monitor daily, just check your off axis viewing angles before purchase.
I had a Dell that was fine when horizontal, but had narrow off-axis viewing angles when vertical. This caused colours to shift quite noticeably when moving my head just a few inches.
Just keep it in mind when choosing a monitor to pivot, especially if it doesn't come with a pivoting stand and you're using an aftermarket one.
Screen Space >>>>>> Resolution
I'm not sure. On one hand, with vertical 27" 4K, 2160 width is kinda narrow for viewing most app that has static sidebar like IDE. On the other hand, the dual-up is like 2 x 21.5", 2560 width is a bit high for 21.5" so I'd probably need to upscale a bit.
I think if someone could use the dual up without running upscaling, then it will give an edge over vertical 27" due to more horizontal space.
Why do you need a square monitor?
