Thanks but I'm waiting for a good deal for the GT-AX6000 | GT-AX11000 pro | RT-AXE7800 (whichever will be the cheapest with a good deal). RT-AX89X is an older version that doesn't have much interest nowadays compared to the 3 I've mentioned.

I have this router and it's been great. 8x 1Gb LAN ports, 1x 1Gb WAN port, 1x 10/5/2.5Gb LAN/WAN port, 1x 10Gb SFP WAN port. I don't know of any other model that has 2x 10Gb ports, this is perfect if you have a NAS shared with multiple devices. Handles 50+ wireless devices without breaking a sweat. I replaced a lot of Ubiquiti gear and haven't looked back. Note that it does not support the third-party Merlin firmware, if that's important to you.
Works well with AiMesh?
I have only used the Merlin firmware on my RC 88U router which I got for 8 Gig ports 3 years ago. Whats missing in the regular Asus firmware?
Would expect at least tri-band at this price
Does this Router support VLAN ?
There are some gurus who are just adding support for this router for OpenWRT, as in just the last few days they committed the code.
It will take a few days for snapshot builds to appear.
Unfortunately it will be a little while before builds with NSS hardware acceleration to get the full speed.

thanks, im running Asuswrt-Merlin firmware on my RT-AX86U, great router and everything, except sadly no VLAN support.
was lookin at which other router supports VLAN in the Asus range that does Merlin firmware + VLAN possibly.
Oh very happy to hear. I really hope Asus brings out a Wifi 7 router with 8 LAN ports.
WiFi 7 (802.11be) will take a while to appear in routers, let alone clients.
If you're after more LAN ports, a switch will get you a long way.

WiFi 7 is not expected to be fully ratified until early next year, so these will hopefully just be able to have a firmware upgrade to be fully compliant.
