This coupon has become live again as pointed out and it brings both the 6GB RAM, MediaTek Kompanio 1300T CPU variant down to US$191.17 (~A$296.01) and the 8GB RAM, Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 CPU variant down to US$225.63 (~A$349.37).

The cheapest variant in the title is the 6GB MediaTek variant and I recommend grabbing this instead of the Qualcomm variant. The reason is that it's possible to flash Lenovo's official global ROM onto this tablet while maintaining Widevine L1 for Netflix HD, as described here

While the Qualcomm variant has more RAM and a slightly better CPU it's not compatible with the official global ROM, so it uses Lenovo's version of Android called ZUI that looks different to stock. Google Play and Widevine L1 with Netflix HD still all work fine, however not everything is translated to English.

Other features include an 11.2" 2560x1536 OLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, 600nits brightness, HDR10+ & Dolby Vision, 128GB UFS 3.1 Storage (microSD support), 8200mAh battery with 30W fast charging, USB-C with Video Out, 4 JBL Speakers with Dolby Atmos, 13MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, WiFi ac, Bluetooth 5.1, GPS and POGO pins for charging/keyboard.

  • Will be using this for media consumption. Aside from flashing the global ROM, Will I need to do anything else in order to enjoy HD/4K content from streaming sites? (Ordered the 6GB mediatek variant). I am new to Android devices.

    • +2

Out of the box the MediaTek version on ZUI will do Netflix HD. See how you like it initially on the Chinese ROM and if you don't like it switch.

You will need to enable Google Play though.

Go to Settings > App management > 3 dots top right > Google Basic Services > turn it on.

Then search for Google Play in the Lenovo app market to install.

      • Thanks, @Clear! Are there any “do not’s” that I need to be aware of, e.g. don’t do OTA upgrades, etc?

        • Not that I'm aware of.

  • +1

Really impressed with the shipping time. Ordered last Friday and it got to my door today. When did AliExpress start getting so express

      • Also interesting to note the MediaTek variant came with the global ROM installed right out of the box. Showing up as Lenovo Tab P11 Pro(2nd Gen) model: TB132FU

        • I knew it would be the global version. That’s the unofficial version with unlocked bootloader and no widevine L1.

          • @Griffindinho: i can confirm that mine doesn't have unlocked bootloader, and has widevine L1. No problems with 1080p dolby vision netflix

            • @ygttt: Interesting. So they flashed it with the RSA tool? I received mine from another seller. CN ROM, then flashed to ROW Android 13. Anyway I wouldn't trust an unsealed box. Who knows what they could do to the tablet.

              • @Griffindinho: Either that or it's proper global stock. The seller is AliExpress themselves afterall.

Mine has arrived but I'm not back in Australia until next month to check.

                • @Clear: Highly doubt it’s the Lenovo P11 Pro Gen 2 Global tablet, would be the Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2022. From the other picture review, it was the 870 Snapdragon variant with CN ROM.

                  Important data:
                  1. This is 100% brand new and original Lenovo Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2022 of "TB132FU" model with global ROM installed name: Lenovo Tablet P11 Pro.

                  • @Griffindinho: Fingers crossed it is the TB132FU because then I can easily convert to official global.

                    • @Clear: For your sake I hope. Running great with the flashed Global ROM. Never tried ZUI, besides turning it off at the initial installation. 😂

                      • @Griffindinho: I wouldn't be mad with ZUI either. It gets a lot more updates than global.

                        • @Clear: Yeah, Lenovo are slack when it comes to ROW updates. Had to manually update the Google play system update in the settings, which is now updated to 1 October 2023. Android security update is 1 September 2023. Also changed the language to English (Australian) instead of United States.

                • @Clear: Did you order from this seller? I ordered 17/11 and still waiting for mine. It did get held at customes on 22/11, received by local delivery company on 24/11 and arrived at local delviery centre on 27/11. No update since.

                  • +1

@appledeuce: I've ordered and I believe it to be delivered (overseas atm). Try tracking it through 17track.net/en and potentially Auspost. You may get more detailed information.

Chances are it's still in a processing centre

                    • @Clear: Thanks for that tracking link. The last update says “Available for pickup” with the same date and timestamp as the last update on AliExpress app. However when i try checking via Auspost, it says the tracking number is “unconfirmed”. Should i give auspost a call?

                      • +1

@appledeuce: Yep definitely they'll be able to see where it's at

                        • @Clear: I just tried Parcelapp tracking and it says “Awaiting collection at <city> Post Shop”. If i rock up to the Auspost shop tomorrow, would they be able to check their system and find the item, given that the tracking number is “unconfirmed” in the Auspost app? Sorry for asking a million of questions. Im just a bit anxious lol

                          • @appledeuce: I'd say go in and they can check. Sometimes two tracking numbers are assigned.

                            • @Clear: Thank you, thank you. It was indeed on a different tracking number which was why it wasnt showing on the Auspost app. I got it now, and I am back to annoy you with more n00b questions.

My Device Name shows "Lenovo Tab P11 Pro (2nd Gen)
                              Model TB132FU
                              Android Version 12

It already has Google Play installed, if that means anything.

When I click on System update - it displays current version TB132FU_S300062_220921_ROW and "Checking for updates" at the bottom but it doesn't seem to be doing anything at all (no issues with my internet connection). Tried restarting and retrying the system update, no joy. What am I doing wrong? Thanks again! I am really new at Android so appreciate your patience!

                              • +1

@appledeuce: Did you sort the updating issue out? If not, you should flash the tablet via Lenovo RSA tool.

              • @Griffindinho: Received mine today and it's the same deal as ygttt's - unsealed box, locked bootloader, and identifies as a TB132FU / P11 Pro (2nd Gen). I still flashed it using the RSA tool, because like you said who knows what's happened beforehand!

                • @f4te: As I suspect. They flashed the firmware for the P11 Pro Gen 2 onto it as the Xiaoxin Pad Pro 2022 Kompanio 1300t model is the basically the same thing minus the 30w charging for the Chinese variant.

In the past, I was hesitant purchasing any "Global ROM" from AliExpress as they tend to unlock the bootloader and install an unofficial firmware onto the device.

Comparison of the two MediaTek models, courtesy of gsmarena.

It seems this seller could be doing the same method of flashing the tablet via the Lenovo RSA too. But to be cautious they didn't install any malicious software/malware onto it, flashing the tablet like you did was a wise thing to do.

                  • @Griffindinho: I finally got mine and it's not the official Global ROM, but more official than the usual global ROMs due to the bootloader being locked and Widevine L1 - it just won't OTA. I'll have to use the Lenovo RSA tool.

                    • @Clear: Used RSA and now on the correct firmware (TB132FU_S240212_230921_ROW) with Android 13.

It's going to take me a while to get used to this UI they use. The taskbar at the bottom in apps is useful, especially when you turn on 3 button navigation with that showing to the right. Now I just need to get the keyboard case and hook it up to a portable monitor.

                      • @Clear: Nice same firmware as me. Everything is working fine, except the adaptive brightness. Not sure if it's a software bug or not. And I don't have the "Device Health Settings" to reset it.

Edit: Forgot to add. Make sure to manually update the Google play system update in settings.

                        • @Griffindinho: Sounds like your ROM is faulty. I have device health settings and adaptive brightness. Device Health Settings can easily be exported but idk if it'll let you sideload.

                          • @Clear: Yeah I have the adaptive brightness setting, just it's doesn't work properly or I'm just so used to the other tablets I've used.

Edit: Found it. I had to click on "show system" in apps smh.

                            • @Griffindinho: I hate adaptive brightness with a passion so I never use it. Lenovo International don't polish their ROMs as good as Lenovo China so I wouldn't be surprised if it's not as good as say Samsung.

  • Does anyone have a link to a decent screen protector for this tablet?

I got my case, but murphy's law says I will scratch the screen without a screen protector…

  • Just got the tablet, realized that I bought the pen 2, not the 3. Time to go AliExpress hunting again!
