  Yep, there is an awesome oil sale at Repco right now.

  Just picked up 2 x Shell Helix Ultra Extra 5w30 (normally $76.99) and 2 x Valvoline SynPower 5w40 (normally $64.99) for $50 each. Huge saving and will see me through the next 12-18 months of oil changes for our 2 cars. :D

  Do people use a 5W-30 weight oil much? I would have thought it might have been a little thin in summer?

    Most modern engines require a 5W-30 oil viscosity. Check the lube recommendation tool on the oil manufacturers website regarding the requirements for your specific vehicle.

  OP, it may be worth including the Castrol Edge 5W-30 @ $49.99 (save $20) in your post. Very popular synthetic. I'll be going down to grab a couple of bottles.

      I usually use Castrol Edge 5W-30 or M1 5W-30. Both very good oils according to UOA (used oil analysis) over on bobistheoilguy.com. Bitog is the goto site for everything regarding automotive lubes.

      I'm just saying include the Edge as it's an extremely popular synthetic oil for DIYer's. May be one of the most popular due to it's price/quality.

        Yeah I converted from Mobil 1 5W-50 to the Edge 5W-40.
