I'm sensing the amount of existing Optus customers who are still with optus this week would be slightly different to 2 weeks ago

      for Existing Optus Postpaid Customers

is there even any left after that huge drama?

    • I was fine with my phone not working but i feel sorry for those who have Optus internet as well… :) i switched to my Fiber Exetel internet wifi and used my phone for 80% of what i needed it for

  • +1

I wonder if this works for Amaysim customers seeing as Optus 100% owns them now

  • 2 months that's less then most trial periods

    • How do you get a 2+ month trial for binge? Searching but can't find

  • for Existing Optus Postpaid Customers

    Are there any left ???

  • +3

they have 3 months binge at Telstra for free. Added bonus is telstra network won't go down like optus, and you won't have your data sold to the highest bidder

    • +1

Added bonus is telstra network won't go down like optus

      Yes it does

They had one not long ago…

Some people have a short memory…

      https://www.smh.com.au/technology/telstra-customers-experien…

      • That Telstra outage was mobile only, the recent Optus one was mobile and Internet.
        Optus wins!

      • That wasn't the ENTIRE NETWORK like optus. only mobiles, not landlines, not broadband.

        • That wasn't the ENTIRE NETWORK

Big deal… Telstra have had many outages over the years…

That one affected millions of customers.

          https://7news.com.au/technology/telstra/telstra-working-urge…

If it affects you, you don't care whether it is the entire network on just your local tower.

          • @jv: never the entire network at once Optus is the only network, to have all services down at once.

            • @kungfuman:

never the entire network at once

millions were affected by the Telstra outage.

              • +1

@jv: are you not understanding the difference between ALL SERVICES being down and just the mobile network? businesses were still able to run on telstra broadband unlike optus where no one on optus internet and mobile could function because all systems were down.

                • +2

@kungfuman: …yeah but, here…have 2 months of binge (insert hulktacomeme)

                • +1

                  @kungfuman:

are you not understanding the difference between ALL SERVICES being down and just the mobile network?

are you not understanding it was a NATIONAL outage affecting millions?

                  • @jv: again missing the point. ALL SERVICES vs ONE SERVICE. Optus wins for biggest outage! back to the point "Added bonus is telstra network won't go down like optus,"

                    • -2

                      @kungfuman:

                      Optus wins for biggest outage!

                      Both affected millions of people.

Telstra's probably affected more people… Which probably makes it worse

                      • @jv: there is no exact numbers, saying millions doesn't give you exact figures it could be 2 million or it could be 4 million, all I know is it didn't affect all customers, like it did with optus. O here we go some actual number 10 million customers affected from optus outage Optus WINS!! https://www.abc.net.au/news/2023-11-09/how-the-optus-outage-…

                        • @kungfuman:

                          there is no exact numbers

                          Because nobody bothered to count.

It was a national outage and Telstra has 50% more customers that Optus…

                          • @jv: it was one service. broadband still worked and other Telstra services, and it didn't affect ALL customers. There is no exact numbers showing how many customers that were affected on Telstra, and I know during that time I wasn't affected so it didn't even affect all mobile customers. So the outage is small compared to Optus ALL SERVICES down outage. Telstra has never had all services down at once like optus did. You also focusing on one of the issues of optus, not the fact they got hacked and compromised every ones data. Hasn't happened on telstra either I might add. There is no chance you can win on Optus ever being better than telstra in no way shape or form.

                              @kungfuman:

and it didn't affect ALL customers.

It affected MORE customers, which made it worse…

Their customer service is better than Telstra's, by default.

                              • @jv: Anything optus had that was good, is irrelevant now, they are the only network that compromised customer data and had the worst outage of any network. A company like optus has no excuse, they are compromised, and anyone still with optus needs work that out. Telstra or vodafone are your options, don’t even think about Optus they are not worth getting your data compromised or reliablity.

                                • @kungfuman:

they are the only network that compromised customer data

the only one you are aware of maybe would be more accurate…

                                  • @jv: Ok show me your evidence of another network being compromised?

                                    • @kungfuman:

Ok show me your evidence of another network being compromised?

If I don't give you the evidence, does not mean it didn't happen.

                                      • @jv: No evidence means u got nothing

                                        • @kungfuman:

No evidence means u got nothing

                                          No it doesn't.

                                          • @jv: Yes it does.

                                            • @kungfuman:

                                              Yes it does.

No, it just means you are not aware…

                                              • @jv: Where's your proof if you're going to say this then show us proof. or else it irrelevant

From actual facts only optus is the issue.

                                                • @kungfuman:

From actual facts only optus is the issue.

                                                  I've provided links already.

                                                  Are you suffering memory loss?

        • not broadband

They had a broadband outage earlier this year too.
