    • +2

Nice catch! How did you get it at that price!

      • Been waiting for 2 years, I hope they send them and it isn't blamed as a price error

        • It got to be a price error. I haven't seen it that cheap before. The online price seems to be back to normal.

    • +10

      $795? Fork that.

  • +14

    Imagine paying $600 for cutlery.

    • +27

imagine being able to afford food to use them

    • It'd definitely have to be a cut above the rest for that price.

Having said that, this is a sharp deal.

      • +2

Not everyone can fork out this much for cutlery

        • +7

Some people were born with a silver spoon in their mouth

          • @freefall101: Would be knife to own a set, but have to cut down spending

  • +7

These are really high quality, 18/10 stainless steel and quite heavy

    • +4

Great quality. We have a set over 10 years old and it still looks brand new. No rust.

      • Woah. What did you pay a decade ago? Can you recall?

      • +6

I have a cheap set from Ikea from a decade ago and they still look brand new. no rust.

Anyone know if the steak knives by Robert Welch are any good? Asking for my friend Jeffrey D.

  • +10

After being knifed in the back with inflation and rate hikes for 18 months, and then spoon fed on the BS excuses about why we're going through a 'cost of living crisis'… this price can fork right off.

  • Those spoons look shiet

  • +9
    • +3

damint - these spoons are shaped normally! should have bought these

      • how do you cancel an order

        • Call them.

          • +3

@gamerkonks: aghh too hard. I'll just eat out of the weird shape spoon

      • Really? The Malvern seems to have a flatter shape which seems more normal to me. Can't tell the difference beside the shape of the handles

        • really? this here kingham is your traditional oval shape but op malvern has upside down triangle fancy type I hate

    • lobbed on kingham via search cutlery and price. Did not realise the dif with op. Til now. Prefer these as well. Ha.

  • any free shipping code? out of stock instore in most places

    • Nope. Just gotta spend $99+, so get two ;)

  • +7

Don't get caught out - this set does not include caviar spoons or fish knives.

    • +2

Look at you fancy pants, caviar spoon.

      • lol. I reckon - I dont even know what a caviar spoon looks like
what are they doing on ozbargain

        • +1

Caviar spoons should be made of mother of pearl.

    • lol caviar spoon.

    • +3

i jus use my coke spoon

      • you drink coke with a spoon? :P

        • +1

One way to cut down on the calories.

  • +3

Is this like a remarkably good quality cutlery set that is a one of a kind deal, or is it overinflated RRP?

    • lol ,overinflated RRP obviously.

    • +1

Different styles are permanently on sale at Victoria's Basement for $100-$150 depending on the style all the same 18/10 stainless.

      • Nothing showing on the website.

        • Sorry my mistake was looking at Stanley Rodgers.

    • +1

Bit of both. Usually sells for 40-50% off on sale but this could be end of line and just selling it off. Not many stores had stock left and i saw the deal within a few minutes of posting. The Royal Doulton set has a RRP of $999 so this isn't even that overinflated compared to some. There was a deal on those a few years ago for $132.

  • +1

$80 is probably the expected sell price. no way they expect to sell at rrp.

  • +2

    no chopsticks?

    • true - should be standard for aussie market
      korean style steel chopsticks

My grandmother gave me her cutlery, bloody thing is like 100 years old now, why do people buy new cutlery? Get them used or for free. Make sure to cuddle up with grandma when young, you might get a free house as inheritance worth millions of dollars and free things like spoons and forks that you can use for life. If you didn't have a grandma when growing up, that is understandable but everyone else in Aus land, c'mon big up your life game lad's.

    • +14

What an odd post with so much to unpack.

      • -2

It's very simple, free cutlery is best cutlery and if you get a free house with the free cutlery, even better.

    • +2

      WHY stop at cutlery
her house is up for offer too??? :D

    • Well that escalated quickly

    • +4

I also choose to cuddle up with this guy's grandma

    • +1

Calling her a bloody thing won't get you free cutlery.

    • +1

It reads like ChatGPT having a stroke.

    • +1

Or you could just date a girl that’s a kleptomaniac and works in hospitality and never have to buy cutlery again.

  • +11

Bit short on cash so will wait for the Malvern East version.

  • will this one get canceled as well?

    • Why? Looks like a legitimate sale. Might be end of line for this set. The shape of the spoons isnt ideal for many so isnt the most popular set.

      • because the popular tumbler set from Myer got cancelled yesterday

        • That seems to be more a stock issue. Sometimes stores show 1 on inventory but it has been stolen, damaged or other reason why they dont have it so have to refund click and collect orders. Some people did get it.

  • +3

Interesting profit margin they've got there…

  • Thanks got two sets, plus two sets of the $30 steak knives to go with.

    • $220 impulse buy, nice

      • Actually got 2 of the Kinghams too.

        $380 🥲

But makes for great/easy wedding/Christmas gifts

        Especially when RRP is $2500+

  • +1

Isn’t this a hugely inflated RRP?

  • Out of stock

  • -1

It is a price error 😔. The price should be $280, not $80.

  • +1

    https://www.myer.com.au/p/stanley-rogers-chicago-50-piece-cu…

If I was looking for a set I would probably go this one. It has a steak knife and is a setting for ten. How many people need entree cutlery nowadays?

    • That's available on Amazon, and checking CCC it looks like $130 is a normal price.

    • Thanks mate purchased!!!
