Omo is great and you really only need 1/2 a scoop.

But I'd wait for black friday sales. On Prime Day they had 5kg for ~$29… Which takes a year for me to use.

Omo is also half off at Coles and works out at 7/kg for a 2kg as opposed to this deal which is 6.25 a kg. May be better for those who dont want a 8kg bucket

  • powder vs liquid?
what's better for the washing machine in terms of maintenance, I have heard powder gets stuck in the machine mechanism & may lead to costly repairs etc, any thoughs?

    • Liquid

From memory, it tends to be more expensive, though.

      • Liquid, it's more expensive due to logistics effort

I have heard liquid adds to a machine's funkiness over time.

We were told the same when we had our front loader repaired. Liquids will apparently build up over time where powders don’t. Since changing to powder (mainly Aldi), there have been no issues.

    • You can make a liquid out of powder.
In fact the.manufacturer recommend mixing it in water before putting it in.

Dynamo professional is better than Omo

Liquids better except for the waste of logistics for the bottles.

    Ex Unilever SC guy

    • The instruction on Omo Professional Powder says need 2 scoops of powder for large load. We have a 9kg F/L, do we really need 2 scoops to wash a full load?

      • I am going to guess that if it is designed for commercial laundry loads, you can get away with a lot less.

      • No one scoop is generally ok depending on the type and staining of the load.

      • I use, 1/2 scoop for a full 9kg load (Toploader) and then a healthy squirt of dishwashing liquid. I also put it on soak. I rarely pretreat (occasionally I use Exit soap), kids clothes go in filthy, come out clean..

    • Funny I was chatting to Unilever back in the 90's about a stain in a favourite shirt. I'd used one of their liquids. They got me to post the shirt in. They sent it back a week late, stain removed. I got a call explaining that powder is better. If I had a stain, they said make a paste with powder, rub it into the stain, then wash.

      Things have obviously changed.

    • Biozet is better than Dynamo or Omo.

  • Powder is way better value
