$75 off First Year Comprehensive Car Insurance + 14% Cashrewards Cashback (Expired) @ Australia Post (Online Only)

210

I took this up last november during a similar previous deal and my comprehensive insurance was $349 (2014 mitsubishi Outlander). That deal included $100 cashrewards cashback.

This deal includes 14% cash back from cashrewards.com.au - so $349 quote would now yield $49.35 in cash back. - not as good as the previous deal but not to be sneezed at. Cashback is eligible on new car insurance policies only.

Auspost car insurance is underwritten by QBE.

I haven't had to make a claim so can't comment on the service.

The deal will be good for some and not so good for others.

some people will get cheaper quotes else where.

anecdotal evidence suggests that sometimes putting yours and your cars details in with your neighbours address will show a different price - it's a crap shoot

Always check the T&C and PDS before you make a financial decision, there is no harm to do a quote first, as YMMV.

any way , It's a long running deal so that is good.

14% cashback Special Terms
Cashback is only eligible on new car insurance policies.

  • is the 14% cashback valid for third-party cover? Could not see any terms mentioning limitation on only comprehensive.

    • looks like 14% cash back is for any insurance - maybe tightarse can chime in

  • If I am with Aus post already, can I cancel and do a new one?

    • T&Cs do state -

Is this a good company to deal with during claims? How much is the premium for full insurance for Toyota Camry?

You would have to do a quote to see

Auspost car insurance is underwritten by QBE, so claims are managed by QBE. Had a recent windscreen claim where I required to pay my nominated repairer first, as O'Brien glass (their chosen repairer) didn't have my windscreen in stock.

Claims process overall was fine with a little extra nudging here and there. Some questions asked were quite self explanatory or they already had the information in the policy. But I think that's more the operator than the company itself.

With regards to premiums, it is highly dependent on a number of factors like age, gender, recent claims, location and km's driven per year. For accuracy, you'd need to do a quote yourself.

      • Thanks, let me see. Actually, I don't really use Cash Rewards, I do have an account but I find Shopback easy.

        • cashrewards takes no time to set up. it took 4 days to register my car insurance purchase last time.

        • Cashrewards is just as easy? I also find their tracking quicker and accurate with little enquiries/follow ups

          • @reivaxX: I mean to say, I don't really follow deals on cash rewards, I do have an account. I'll give it a try.

I got AAMI full insurance around 1538$ and Bingle maybe 30 less. Let's see what best I can do, I feel like using AAMI as they're also my CTP provider. Easy to be with one provider.

    • Do a quote but probably 2x more than most.. not worth the hassle.. try Rollin or Bingle

      • Thanks mate, got the Rollin 🤣

123.45$ per month, it suits me because I can minus 2 months when I am not here lol I never knew it's only per month for them. Only bought cause of the magical number.

  • 2x more expensive than rollin insurance for me.

  • almost $300 more expensive than woolies for me.

$349 for comp. insurance doesn't sound right. How much was it insured for

    • what can i say?.
it's how much I paid for comprehensive insurance for my 2014 outlander. (even less with the cash back).
      insured for market value.

  • Twice the price of what Woolies quoted me and $600 more than RACV 😯

Epic rip off.. to insure a 2013 Hyndai Sant Fe car that's worth ~20k - 37 yo male.. no demerit points last 3 years and no claims.. $1,442.74.. Not sure how the Op. got insurance for $350 … perhaps that was the montly premium lol

    • Yeah even my dad cant get that low with max NCD and pensioners discount on a car worth $3-4k

  • +5

Darn. 1 day too late for me. This would have ended up being $100 dollars cheaper for me.

However, I have some objections to being forced to use 'market value', which is essentially a conjob insurance companies use to get out of paying enough to actually replace the car.

These greedy mob pumped up my renewal from $515 to $965 without a single change in my circumstances.
